To quote the devs: if everything goes very well, hopefully in 1-2 months.
So, read it as 4 months.

Depends on which link the mod used. I think it's the version with bugfixes? Pixeldrain filename says "release_c"

Yeah we all right now have to restart the game.
I see it as a chance because I can now keep the bosses on normal as the bosses had the right difficulty for me but all the small frys on the way where way to overwhelming. I found out to late you have an option to remove enemies on the way.

not going to lie i had to do new save 3 or 4 times now from the first time i played this it seems every update fucks the saves

Literally not the case. In 6 years of development, we had to break saves exactly twice.

Actually the Abandoned tag was removed some time ago before this update IIRC.
