I get that, but dev clearly went for plenty of names that have theming to them. From Chapter 1 Melan and Skia are Greek for Dark and Shadow respectively.

The png_ doesnt break the game, it can read that fine (the demo worked with it very much ok, only trouble it did was making me have trouble extracting pictures from the get go)
I would guess you have... garbled text name, which means you extracted the 1.06 version of the game without Japanese locale, sjunizip.exe or Winrar in Japanese language.
Would help if you posted the screenshot of error message of what you actually encountered instead.

I like Mare, it sounds like the dorky name a child would come up with to sound cool and mysterious. Which considering the character it suits her. She's a kid in an evil organization filled with eccentric witches, she's just going with the flow and calling herself the most on the nose name, Mare.
So, funny thing about the French language : "soleil" is indeed the masculine noun for "sun". However, as a name, it's used exclusively for girls. So you could totally use that if you wanted to.

yeah dude, I'm sure the issue is the "window" part of "window.png_", and not the invalid file extension.
It's a valid file extension for RPGMaker. It's how a dev may decide to encrypt files in this engine. My own files have that extension and game runs just fine. You are barking up the wrong tree.
Yes, totally ignoring the part where I mentioned *garbled* text name. Right, I guess I should add word Window as garbled along with �Ȃ܂��čH�[] ���@�������i�̍Г� which is the Shift_JIS encoding/decoding error for なますて工房] 魔法少女ルナの災難 (Japanese name for this game). Classy
Nope, we are gonna focus on the uncommon practice of using weird file extension that holds no metadata and was packed up in the game already. Same as why you can have random file extension such as .sav, .save, .com3d2 or any random one, can do cool tricks such as naming something X.zip.jpg which is a valid image AND can be used as a zip file, or the full hacking route where Koikatsu can produce 70MB png files which contain the whole character or scene build. But that would be alright honestly.
Nobody can know all of this, especially in IT which is as weird as it gets. But what grinds my gears, is going against the one guy who pointed out that it likely isnt an error, what *might* be the problem, cause somebody complained *without* any relevant information to track down the actual issue. Like this pictureI attached and found on the net, showing similar issue people might have and had in the past with Japanese RPGMaker games.
Sorry, have little experience with Hentai-Sharing... I downloaded through MEXA and dunno what the password for the zip file is... any idea where I can find it please?

Show the full filepath for the game. If it has any japanese in it. change it to english.
And once again. My own files have those extensions and it works just fine.
Edit: wait... 15th of April Last Year? What version of game did you download anyway?
Yeap, huge problem indeed.
Also, you have shown a single image, in folder that should have obviously more than one, with no filepath, no context and if you really are interested in figuring out the problem I think it would bemuch more productive to actually explain how and when you got the error. (Going by the blackscreen, likely from launching the game?)
