i personally would read the help tab in the game menu. it might be there for a reason.
or you check again the release post. your answer is there also to be found (even though well hidden).

The hotfix is a sepparate download, it only contains scriptfiles so that people don't have to re-download the entire game when there's a bug.

What issue are you having?
If you fall back to the main menu then use the patch in OP.
If you get an error that says something like "Can't find label" use the patch in OP.
If you can't see the UI check "known issues" in OP.
