What does this new project entails?
Good question, I do recommend you to take a look at our Patreon posts from last half a year, they cover all the information nicely and will give you the general idea a lot faster than my ramblings. Those posts are free anyway. Or if you want a deeper look into development - there's also a Discord link in OP post, our team is a lot more active there.

Alas, it's on hold while undergoing a complete restart, if I understand the patreon posts correctly. That's never a good sign.

Still, here's hoping the devs can avoid the "restart curse." They have a lot of talent but are bouncing between two projects, neither of which will have a release this year.

Oh my, this thread is alive again! Well, let me explain a few things here, since there's some interest regarding the game.

This project was put on hold because of some unfortunate events that resulted in significant data loss of source files, which was depressing on its own(imagine writing your own game twice, what a wonderful experience) combined with very modest financial success over the year game existed as actively developed project, to put it lightly.

So, we decided to take a break from MM and try something much more ambitious. I'm not going to spend too much time on that, but imagine yourself "Innocent Witches" kind of game, but with more sexual content and less blueballing set in Warhammer 40k, made with RenPy engine.

One year of active development later, in November to be precise, that project was 65-70% finished. 9 NSFW scenes, of which 3 are animated, along with minigames, inventory and shop systems, all with custom UI and stuff. You can read about that on Patreon with plenty of cool pics. Thing is already huge, to be honest I never saw a game with this much content in the initial version. But it still needs more time, more polish and more effort put into it to make it the game of our dream that started more than a year ago. After spending so much time on it - we don't want to rush things when we are so close to being done.

In short - we have a project that is almost perfect in our vision but needs at least another half a year in the oven. Remember that all this is done in our spare time, with Patreon barely covering software costs alone. Damn you Live2d that eats 20$ per month just by itself! But, people kept asking about MM. And around a month ago I gazed at RPG Maker once again and realized that I no longer feel any creeping dread when I look at it!

So, we decided to take our sweet time with our bigger project and in the meantime cook up a small, tie-in game that involves the same characters from the big game, a sort of prologue to the RenPy game. Involving a new, refined version of Ernesta and her shenanigans as she meets a charmingly crazy new cast of characters.



The work fully started in late October and initially we planned to release the first version in January, but Christmas left us a bit busy(how dare we to have personal life and actual work, I'm furious as well) so it's planned to go out into the world in February. A much simpler game in style of MM, with sex, investigations and a bit more sex again, with a much better art and generally a better flow of the game. We are still not sure on the name of the project, but most in-game content is either ready or awaiting the artist to finish up some assets and artworks. All in all - it'll be a spiritual successor to Malleus Maleficarum.



To sum things up - we took a break with another project until we felt brave enough to dive into RPG Maker again. It's fine to be skeptical about how things look, I'm not here to change that. But since people wondered I hope this post cleaned a few things up. And if you want to see more updates and news or want to ask some questions - check out our Discord and Patreon!

I cant wait to check it out! Sorry to hear about the data but I'm super glad to see you are committed to making games still. Too many abandoned game studios around these parts. Will there be beasty content in your new game?

The data loss also resulted in the current MM having two game versions, since I had new artwork but had almost no game files left so I made things from scratch just for the new content that I had at the time. Literally a new game remade with old backups.

It was always a passion project for me first and foremost, if I was in it solely for the money I think I'd abandoned the game shortly after the first version. On the other hand since I do those things out of passion - and I'm free to direct my passion into other directions as well, not constrained with people having expectations.

As for the NSFW content - expect a wide variety of things, we want to cover as many kinks as possible and later on focus on things that people will vote for. Funnily enough we never had any bestiality content in the game by definition, since projects with such content are not allowed on Patreon. It's not a horse, it's a unicorn! If it's not real, then it's not bestiality since definition only covers real life animals. No dogs, but hellhounds and so on. To answer your question - we have at least one scene planned with similar content for the first version. But I'm not going to spoil things too much.

We are having a small test, feel free to participate as long as you're willing to give me your feedback. But please keep in mind, this is not a full official game release, but just a small demo to see how things work. Don't run around F95 claiming that I released a new game with no actual game in it. I'll make a proper thread when it's ready and has all content for the actual release.
  • What is there - one arena level, fully functioning combat system, quest/chat/shop system, cool music.
  • What is not there - literally the rest of the game, no NSFW content, no story, no puzzles, nothing. These things are still being worked on and the demo is distributed only to see if the combat system is any fun and to catch bugs related to it early on.
Bugs that are known and actively worked on:
  • occasional stuttering/lag issues from combat;
  • characters sometimes appearing on top of items.

Yeah thats pretty fun, in its own way not just "for a porn game"

T summons skully, G activates the power sword, F is attack, Q cycles through weapons.

I didn't see where it said that, skully said it was on a poster(or something) in the next room, but the next room is just combat. IDK was pretty fun, I died to the first boss/big baddie because i was greedy with ammo so no complaints. Only major issue is fog of war doesn't go away equivalent to speed your walking. If you could make it scale that would be fun, but if your trying to enforce a more cautious play style then working as intended

Just took me what, four months to code it! But truth be told my ambitions were always above the "just a porn game", so I appreciate your kind words.

I didn't see where it said that, skully said it was on a poster(or something) in the next room, but the next room is just combat.
He says that controls are on the tooltip, which should be in the top-right corner of your screen on every combat map.

IDK was pretty fun, I died to the first boss/big baddie because i was greedy with ammo so no complaints. Only major issue is fog of war doesn't go away equivalent to speed your walking. If you could make it scale that would be fun, but if your trying to enforce a more cautious play style then working as intended
I'll look into expanding the fog radius, but generally it's done by design to avoid you running into a dozen of enemies at once by constantly rushing forward, resulting with the engine chocking on itself. Did you notice any lags or graphical issues as you played?

After taking a week long break from RPG Maker I'm back in full force, with some updates and other plans to share with you all.
Let's get the boring stuff out of the way first. Below you'll find a link to an updated version of Combat Demo I released not too long ago, where I made a few tweaks based on your feedback. For example:
  • Stamina Abilities were a bit tweaked. Now Overcharge costs more and Skully costs less, along with Skully getting a slight damage buff.
  • Enemies are now slightly faster at reacting to player's actions. This might cause some additional lag though, so I'm iffy on this change until I get new feedback on performance. Please, give me feedback on performance.
  • Base damage done by sword was slightly buffed to make sure you can kill all enemies with three hits.
  • Ernesta has increased "fog of war" vision, making her able to see one tile further.
  • A few more "behind the scene" tweaks nobody really cares about.
Updated version can be downloaded below. Please tell me if you notice any visual glitches.



Now, for what comes next.

I still need to finish the work on most maps, combat stuff is now safely out of the way, but the game still needs plenty of story bits and bobs and I'm busy doing exactly that. Generally it's safe to say that combat was the hardest thing to do and what I have left is not going to take another 4 months of my life to be finished.

In terms of art I have all sprites and portraits finished, along with 2 NSFW scenes done completely and one still missing an intro artwork, which was in the process of being colored last time I checked. So, it's safe to say we are almost done art-wise.

Sadly, recent world events also force me to spend more time on my actual job in order to prevent my immediate death caused by starvation, but I still try to find time to finish this little passion project of mine when I'm able to.

It might take longer than I expected, but hey, I did not expect our world to end up where we are now, so uh, let's just do our best here. Thanks to all my wonderful supporters and followers for having faith in me, the end result is already looking very promising. See you all again relatively soon.
