Okay, so we can rule out those two as being a problem.
Then what I can suggest is checking Windows Update to see if there is any updates missing.

I'm using Windows 10 Pro (x64) on VMware.
What you can do is check Windows Update so that it matches my screenshot in the second image. Once you've done that, do a check for updates and install what you find (except drivers for your hardware).
After you've restarted, try loading MotH and see if you can play it.
If that doesn't work, try updating the drivers for your graphics card through the manufacturer's website.
If you use an AMD video card, make sure you're not using the version with Catalyst Control Center. Instead, use the Crimson or Adrenaline drivers (preferably the latter if possible).
