Kinda hard to do all that when going through the tutorial is actually an achievement you have to earn (general achievement #1 - "Learning the ropes"). Not to mention, aside from showing you what to do during your gameplay, it also gives you a little backstory and introduces the main girls living in the house with the MC. Let's not forget the cheat console gets unlocked when you complete the tutorial and earn the aforementioned achievement. So it actually does serve a purpose and is not just thrown in there willy nilly.
achievements are optional. if you want it you can just do it.

also anything said in the intro can be put together with ease as you play. it aint rocket science.
and the cheat console can be put there too. it really is not that hard.

why are you lot soooo against an optional tutorial???? i mean seriously i never seen a single person jump with joy at a tutorial in my life.

The same question could be asked of you as to why you're so opposed to having a tutorial to begin with. ;) Maybe the dev wanted there to be a tutorial. For that matter, I don't even know why it's such a big issue for you considering MotH is over three years old now. As for the "achievements are optional" comment, that's not how the game was intended. Achievements are very much required if you want to complete the game, otherwise there's no goal to obtain. It'd be a pretty dull game if you didn't have at least something to work for.

I wouldn't probably be able to use the expression "jump with joy" while keeping a straight face but generally I like tutorials, especially in more complex games - even though I couldn't really care less about achievements. I wouldn't really have needed it here, probably, but some more rarely used mechanic like how to give an item might have needed almost as much time to figure out as it does going through this tutorial. And while I am all for having it optional (not least for replays), I doubt that it would warrant a reopening of the files after all those years of a working game (always remember that software is fickle, and for whatever reason changing something in the tutorial code may break a later achievement).

that is explained in my first posts.

they treat the player like they lack any form of problem solving. they are boring railroaded crap that you can figure out by playing.
Also it is not aan achievement if you are forced to get it by clicking things now is it.

And i just shared my thoughts on forced tutorials.
It is you that responded to me here sir. So its you that is making it bigger than it is. ;)
I just find forced tutorials anoying and kinda insulting especially in a brain dead porn game.

Well, that's probably one of the most pettiest things I've read about this game since I've started working with Faerin. Usually people bitch and moan because of the "grind", or because this or that doesn't have enough content. No one, and I mean literally no one has complained you have to go through the tutorial... except you. If you don't like the fact that, God forbid, you have to go through the tutorial in its entirety (teh horrorz!!!111!), don't play it. There's many other games on here that will leave you mindlessly walking around trying to figure out just WTH you're supposed to do because the dev didn't stop and think a tutorial just might come in handy (imagine that!).

In short, let's agree to disagree and stop shoving your opinions on how the game should appeal specifically to you down our collective throats. Maybe try developing a game on your own. You can have as many (or as little) tutorials as your little heart desires. It's kind of "brain dead" to dredge this up with a game that's almost 4 years old, dont'cha think? ;)

Not trying to change your mind, just trying to explain why it is what it is, and that it is not going to be changed, since this game has been complete for years now. Faerin has no intention of going back to it at the moment, he is working on his new game.

I've recently downloaded this game to play again and I have the grainy graphics with the default plugins, but the plugins I used before to fix it completely stop the game from running now. It loads up the Unity logo then just closes with no message. Does anyone have plugins which allow the videos to play properly without stopping the game from running?

By the sounds of it you're missing the codec pack could you go here and install this

Then try the game again if that doesn't work and it still crashes could you then upload your output log
Use the Windows + R keys and paste the following in your Run box:
%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Faerin\Man of the House

Thanks for the help, but that didn't fix it. Here's my output log. [removed]

Edit: After uploading that, I realised my mistake. The plugins folder I was using was missing the steam_api file, and I neglected to add it in. I've done that now and it works. I wouldn't have noticed without looking at the log, so thanks for your suggestion.

It's a variation on the ages old adage that half the question you ask aren't answered by the askee, instead you realize the problem once you spell it out ;)

All i did is post that i hate mandatory tutorials. nothing more nothing less.

But you lot keep going on and on about it.....never even hinted that i expected them to change anything.
Touch grass lol. Its just my opinion nothing more.

and yes the game would have been better without it ;)

I noticed something odd on my most recent playthrough. For some reason it's possible to get the Ashley/Sophia handjob lesson before you've had the first handjob from Ashley, so the dialogue in the scene doesn't make any sense because it's out of sequence. I assume something like this would never get fixed as the game has been complete for years now, but it's something to be aware of if you want to do everything in order.
