The Iliad, Beowulf, Hamlet, Oedipus Rex, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Journey to the West.
All of these titles are no more than five words long, none of them contain a hyphen or subtitle, none of them summarize the title within it. Some of those titles are from works that are over 1,000 years old the most recent being about four hundred years old, two of them are from east asian countries. This is fourteen words long, and includes a short summary of itself within the title. This doesn't have anything to do with attention spans being too short.
The thing is that this isn't really a Japanese thing either. Old Japanese stories aren't stupid long either (see: Tale of Matsura,) neither are modern Japanese stories (see: Silence.) My brothers in christ this is unique to Japanese pornography.

Looks like it's this games weird side affect from using the universal decensor. To change the colours you have to remove it first, after the colours are how you want them you can put it back in and restart the game...

The recent trends in Light novels and Web novels is that their titles have become more and more absurdly long.
Just to pull a random one I quickly Google'd:
