Dear Ouch2020,

I admit I also find her better. But you have to see with Limpy if he still has her, and if he is willing to/can (licensing ?) share her (I never asked) or anyway the list of setting and list of assets he used to get to her, even if you could join forces with him in future, if you can find an agreement.
Didn't notice about the conversation here much earlier! Good to know that people are still interested in TGSR! Ha ha!

I have no problem sharing with my "modded Rachel" figure. I've attached it. Please do whatever you guys want with her!
(And I hope I will not upset anyone by posing this figure, considering that it was completely created by me from scratch, albeit copying the Rachel character from Combin)
Can't wait to see if anyone will come up with something new!

It's just the .obj and .mtl files (which can be imported).

Sorry that I don't have more to offer; my DB was gone and I lost all the files like textures etc.

Cheers!

Dear Gamiat,

Thank you!
I really prefer a more time consuming rendering in order to let those characters curvier. Games deserve that.

I love her! She's truly better this way for my tastes.

With her like that, I would surely render many poses with her, with many new outfits (provided the RPG game engine has a good 'change outfit' code that doesnt break the game), in order to see a much more 'scene-driven' game, the most non linear as possible (with mini quests and many buildings to enter, even make her use the toilet to pee or take a bath). I remember playing Green Shadow eager to check for something new to do (using hours wandering along the city) just to check that the only non linear scenes were with the street bad guys (it becomes repetitive after a while), the police (to bad that many visits give you a game over - bad ending), the hospital (I remember trying to find new scenes there), and of course, the main story with Johnny.
I've attached the file of my Rachel figure (in post #523). Hopefully you can successfully import it!

If you are importing to Daz, do select "Daz Studio" from the From drop-down box. It'll get the measurements right this way.

Have fun!

Looking forward to things you would do with her! Ha ha!

Cheers!

Dear All,

I forgot to mention; the Rachel figure I attached is a G8F figure. So you can apply your own favorite G8F textures on her and she'll be ready to go! ;>

Cheers!

You're INCREDIBLE, thank you! It's time to delve into all that complexity in order to see what is possible.
I just imagine. If G8 is already 'extremely sexy and curvy', what those DAZ guys will discover when coming with G9 and else.

Thanks for sharing, Limpy, your generosity is appreciated.
I am certainly not going to be the first to make a game with her, since my main computer, the one with the graphic card that can do this stuff, but it is great that you are willing to share.
It may need a bit of work for the rigging (tried to use the morph loader on my laptop, and it complained), but she is really nice !

Hi Gamlat, just for info, I did a small test on another machine. I am not an expert in this stuff, but from what I saw, importing and rigging the obj as such works smoothly, it really looks good, but the textures may need some work to work correctly, and unfortunately, the model object has eyelashes, that I think you will need to take away yourself.

Do we need to rig the figure manually? You know, putting those weights (hourglass-sized objects) and such? Is there a way to import an already rigged '.rig' file or something?

Eyelashes = overlapping seams?

For the rigging, you can use the "transfer utilty" after you have imported the obj, and that in principle allows you to transfer the bone and the surfaces from a G8 figure (import, load the G8 figure, then try to use the transfer utility).
It seems to work, although I admit that when I tried after to apply the Texture of another G8 character, there were some textures that were some texures (eyes, mouth) that did not look right or with some small area that seemed uncovered, although in the "surfaces" panel it seemed OK.
But I tried only with one texture, so maybe was something with that texture.

For the eyelashes, it is more that as you will see, since they are in the object, you are stuck with them, but since they are in the object and they are not part of the standard surfaces of a G8, when you transfer from G8, they don't transfer.
One could transfer from the eyelashes of the G8 (they are there in the transfer utility as separate object), but then you have the problem that the imported character is one wghole object, wihtout separation of the eyelashes, so I am not sure if that will not confuse Daz.
Maybe creating a new surface (or two, I don't know honestly how it is in the standard eyelashes, never looked at their surfaces tab) that includes only the eyelashes, and manually applying the correct texture to their surface, would work.
Otherwise, I think the simpler would be to modify the object eliminating the eyelashes, and then see if the standard G8 eylashes (or one of the various G8 addons for that) will work.

Thank you for the information, I'll try to follow that strategy. I remember that, in Blender, you can click 'modify', then click in a given bone item that selects only the area that might be overlapping, then you can delete vertices. But this is a direct modification of 3d object and this is not recommended, otherwise morphs wont work well. The problem above is regarding just textures.

For the modification, because the eyelashes in Daz with G8 are additional, if you remove them from the OBJ, if you are careful enough to do it without touching the character itself, then when you get it in Daz and rig as a G8 character, you would have the a G8 with the same number of vertices (since at the origin the obj was a G8, just with the eyelashes included), and then I guess even the morph could work.
Unfortunately, when I tried to play with the morph loader, it would allow me to select the obj file, but then said that there was a mismatch with the G8 geometry (so, it was not recognising it as based on G8), and did not load it as morphs.
But even that, could just be the eyelashes, that are part of the obj, but are not part of the base (even if they are always loaded when one loads a G8 base character).
As far as I understand (I am not an expert), the difference in terms of the number of polygons between G8 (eyelashes extra, even if attached), and the obj with the eyelashes seen as part of the object, may be enough to make Daz think it is not G8-based, even if it actually is.

Dear All,

I didn't realized that the exported file(s) actually contain the eyelashes, and that it would cause so much trouble!
Sorry!

Thank god that I've managed to restore some essential files that allow me to reload my Rachel figure, and this time I've exported her into new .obj and .mtl files, without the eyelashes!
Also, I've saved her into a Character Preset file (.duf), which I've also included in the attachment below. Hopefully you guys can successfully use it.

Do let me know if these methods help, or do tell me if there's a better way to export/share the figure (as I'm still a newbie in 3D myself!).

Cheers!

Thank a lot, great stuff as usual !

Gamiat, Tried fast test, dumped the contents in a directory, and tried to open the duf file directly with the "double click" method. It will complain about missing textures and some three morphs, but then it loads OK, and as a full G8 character.

I think one morph is a "parasite" morph (the ones that get saved without one realising it :-(), the others relate to the head and face - I think they are part of the head morphs for G8 package, so easy to find, I just don't have that package on my laptop.

For the textures, if you want to get the ones sought by the duf file, they are from Rera and (for the face and eyes) Pei, both characters can be found on Daz, on the Internet ;-), or here in your friendly F95 (asset release forum).

Here you have a test picture using only Rera materials I did on my laptop (definitively not a good platform for this) - if you wonder why I called it RachelNoHead, it is because not having the morphs installed on this computer, the head and face do not come exactly right as they should.
Actually, since I did not install Pei, even the textures are not 100% right, but it was just to try.

Hi I played the TV station mission where Rachel was tied to the chair, but her identity was protected because the producer cut the broadcast. Then she told the other superheroes that she needs some time to know if she will come back. After that, I don't know what I need to do, as I am not getting new missions.

I don't remember exactly, but if you have low enough sense of justice, you may go to bar and there you will get some additional tasks (escorts, dancing)
