Then don't pay those guys, but it has not been my experience that the ones I support behave like that. Grims updates are regular and meaningful, the fact that $5 contributors get a girl and a gun hasn't seemed to have impeded his progress. I don't see why anyone would logically come to the conclusion that it would, but your mileage may vary.
I haven't followed this project long enough to say how good the updates are. I spoke in general with what I noticed since patreon arrived.

Fair enough, there's plenty of content available for you to enjoy anyway. You can easily put a hundred hours into a run and not have experienced everything. Enjoy.

I don't have the Stormchild so I've not paid much attention thus I had to try to track it down. From what I saw there were Stormchild renders announced for Alpha 0.8.2 (A3.7) which means to my understanding that those will be in the public release of 0.8.2 which is due to drop in mid-to-late August.
This might well have been capped relatively recently, as in the past few months. I know as of a month or so ago the MC could still gain Strength when in the 160s, but after running into great difficulty getting even highly disciplined slaves past 60 these days I pretty much gave up on it. I see my Michelle has a Strength of 71 but she spent a long time at the Academy and might well have picked up a point from her random bonus. My Tier-2 slave has an 80 but she was improved a long time ago, like January or so, and it's become obvious to me that something has changed since then.

It took me nearly 1 million in winnings to fill up that bar, so a sliver for 8.7k sounds about right.
Well, it appears each time I lose, it drops the red bar down completely. perhaps just a grahpical issues and not coding.
.Except there isn't a paywall. There is only a Tier2 reward, like mainstream games do with giving items if you pre order games that aren't finished and that won't be available to people who will buy game when finished. All the other "content" that you're complaining about is development work that isn't in the public release yet. Those subscribers that are willing to subscribe have access to it as the dev works on it. When that version of the game is finished it will be all available to the public. You're basically complaining that the on going work for the next release is some how locked from the public. That's true of all games, VN on this site. Until a dev releases the next version players don't have access to it.
