I already asked Nicole about her hopes and dreams in v8.3 and built her the newsroom.
With the update to 8.3h rooms got revamped, now the room is gone and there is no option to build the newsroom anywhere.
Rooms 11/12 in the basement are free but I can only build a library or a holding cell there. (Holding cell has apparently no use cause its not affecting any stats of inmates except their happiness). There also is no greyed out assignment at the Jobs&Titles Screen.
If I ask her about her hopes & dreams again she just says she wants to get raped.
Am I missing something crucial or is this some patching issue?

Is she completely unassigned? I don't think option to build newsroom pops up unless she is unassigned. Doesn't have to be built in basement. Any room can do.

Thanks for the fast reply.
I just unassigned her of everything, concluded day and she still wants to get raped and theres no option to build the room.
I first thought it was excluded like the chair or WIP related if you ask her about her Background till I read the comment about it, so I wondered.
I dont need it anymore now, but it would be nice to have had this bonus in the beginning or good to know for someone with the same problem.
Ill put up a savegame if someone wants to look into it.

Probably not if you didn't do a save to disk any program like ccleaner, norton 360 etc that keeps your browser data clean is horrible to use if you play to many HTML games they will delete your saves, every so often make sure to save to disk so you have a back up just incase

how do you trigeer the lost girls quest? what affection / other attributes is required for michelle to have?

Get her up to 'Amiable' affection, and ask about her background. Make sure to click on the 'Worth checking out?' hyperlink and ensure Michelle is with you for the duration of the quest. Adrienne is often quite a catch, unless I've had extraordinary luck the last few times she's hard-coded to be an 'Extroverted' 'Starlet' and skilled enough it only takes a little training for her to qualify as a dancer at the Golden Dragon.

Here, I fixed that. I built the news office and assigned her there. News office is unupgraded though so you have to work on that.

Most likely you changed the path where the game is or was located and your browser created a new temp folder for it.

Twine and browser games rely on appdata/roaming or cache depending on the browser to store their files and if you change the name of your folder like it was "my porn games" to "totally not porn games" then it'll create a new path and you'll lose track of your saves...

You can change it back and it'll go back to were it was if you remember what you changed, it's usually the most common mistake unless of course you cleared all your cache with your browser options, if you cleared you cache you nuked all the files aaaand there's nothing you can do

I was going to test this next weekend and then give feedback to the community about it. But much appreciated you already did.
I really thought I messed up my game cause I didnt unassign my employees before patching.

Is the Handheld computer II from the store the best hacking tool available or is there a better one?
Where do you get gardening tools for Mai?
Is there a renewable source of female capture able enemies?
Is there a way to move the news room to a different location?
How do you get factions join your power level?
Is KELLY MCTIERNEY recruitment random or needs to be after 300 days to trigger(wiki)?
What are Artifacts (rare) (common) for?
Is there a requirement for slave to teach as professor beside the academic/science minimum?

To 1.: In v8.3h there are only Handheld Computer Mark I and Mark II. But there are ways to get a bonus to hacking, ie. via grid keys and high science skill etc.
To 2.: Well the garden tools were previously buyable at Roo's General store, but in v8.3h it was forgotten to include the garden tools in "GenBuy", so they are currently (v8.3h) not buyable - maybe they do (or did) reappear in v8.31 (which is not yet released for the public).
To 3.: Yes (short answer). A little longer answer: global event that lets Marston Fort getting occupied by the "Red Tide" - Shanas. Lone bandit girl in Stokke Hills (does reappear every so often). Otherwise "low control spawns" and roaming bandit groups (from a certain global event) can give a bandit group with three females. All others are in v8.3h not renewable.
To. 4: That depends, what you mean by moving to different location. You can demolish most rooms and then build the room elsewhere, but you might not be able to build the newsroom in any room, only in some "empty rooms" (ie. in the basement).
To. 5: Boost your standing to 100 with that faction (but not possible for all factions), otherwise there is a long forums post of mine about factions a few pages back (and I will not repeat the contents). And for most factions you can only get 1/3 of their power value added to yours.
To. 6: Random, but you need at least one npc (or merc).
To. 7: Rare artifacts can be donated to factions and you might also take a look, what items can be put as furniture in some rooms (ie. rare artifacts).
To. 8: The requirements are literaly on the wiki: if you have 6000 influence, there is no additional requirement, otherwise there is a minimum age.

When you build the garden you have the option of
a) upgrade the tools
b) upgrade the gardens.

I believe that the 2nd option have replaced the tools at Roo´s

RNG. You can game it somewhat by reloading a conclude day save when the domestic event is your guard catching someone trying to steal from you. The person could be an urchin boy, an old man, or Kelly, or at least two other possible random npcs. Only Kelly can be added to your household. You can reload that save until it randoms into Kelly.

It has always been there. He is referring to the event where three bandit icons pop on the upper right side of Marston avenue.

Ahh ok I've seen that then. I guess I just didn't notice the association to Fort Sera.

The conclude day event says they "occupied a fort in Marston".

The bandits spawning in Stokke Hills also say something along the line of occupying a fort in Stokke Hills. It is just safe to assume there are a couple of forts in the western side of the city.
