I've said it before and I'll say it again (and I'm sure to say it in the future)...a rushed ending is worse than being abandoned. Rushed ending ends up in disappointment all around, you get your ending but feels flat. At least when its abandoned your brain can imagine how you'd want it to end (or just end up forgetting about said game) Both are bad but yeah. I can understand that a dev would want to move on from a project and go to something new but a much better solution would be to put the old project on hold, do something else then come back to it later and give it a proper end. I support multiple games, if one of those would end up with a rushed ending, I'd probably unsub and just never sub to that dev again.
