I imagine people are waiting to see how the dust settles regarding the 3 major options that the 8muses community might move to. I'm somewhat inclined to stay here for at least a little while but I'll move wherever the majority goes.
At a glance, so far a bit underwhelmed by the alternatives so far... Yeah, it sucks that F95 doesn't support written fiction, and it would be nice to have a "catch-all" thread for smaller works that don't benefit from having their individual thread... but it almost feels like other "interests" are leading the charge on the new forums anyway. In terms of discussion, I appreciate the organization here, with all the updates being on the 1st post.

I'm good with F95 for now too. If people advertise other places because they have less rules than this one, that's a bit icky to me. Even though I do like the idea of hosting stuff on their server, outside of the community I feel that was the biggest plus the muses had. Like Rebirth I liked the fiction forum on the previous forum, but I feel there's a bit of an option to have a thread similar to the Melissa N-inspired comic thread from the other forum. I've pitch an idea to a moderator and I hope they may be open to my idea. I don't know.

And yeah, I don't like to be pushed anywhere. And I feel there's too much of a push going on to move elsewhere. I don't want to get honeytrapped somewhere, nor do I generally like to be an early adopter. I'm good over here for the time being. I have no sense of urgency to go elsewhere. In the future that may change, or it may not.

Allporncomics may be a good alternative! .
What is your thoughts about it . I also request them to add tags and tgstories, they said that they will do , but know there is short of man power and many things going on behind the scenes, so they do one step at a time . Eventually they will upgrade everything

Now that 21C if off the table, we seemingly have two options.

1) APC is most similar to what 8muses was, which could be seen as a good thing. But then again, 8muses died in spectacular fashion. By their own admission the mod team was overwhelmed, and I don't really see anything that will prevent that from happening again on APC. There are way too many people in the refugee thread complaining about the "no teenagers" rule. You know they're just going to fuck up whatever site they end up moving to if the mods aren't equipped to stop them.

2) F95 is better than 8muses in many ways. It's way more organized, and the staff seem to be really on the ball. I especially like how pretty much every thread is required to have an index, which is what I spent so much time doing on 8muses. I don't like how strict the uploading rules are. It feels like a lot of procedural red tape that could be a barrier to people uploading at all. And I don't like their reliance on external file hosts, which I feel are a complete waste of time. They're just going to get reported and taken down, and then you'll be left with an index full of dead links. Maybe the staff here have a way to avoid this that I don't know about, but otherwise this seems kinda shitty. And then the biggest problem is the lack of a fiction section.

In my mind, there will be no clear winner until either 1) APC becomes more mature and the staff proves they can handle the problems that 8muses was having or 2) F95 adds a fiction section and we all get used to the upload procedure.

In the meantime, I prefer F95.

Including a torrent link in forum posts is the way to avoid this.

Has anyone considered ?

Yes , agreed, F95 is better many way , but what I don't like about this site is , their uploading system, you have to depends on mod or uploader for upload file and you can't upload zip or PDFs directly, you have to upload with provided mirrors,
That's the thing I don't like about, and offcourse tag system. What I understand about this site is , theirs main focus is not comics or stories, their primary focus is games!

And , APC is similar to 8muss , but it's lacks many things, but I hope because APC is a new site , eventually they will upgrade their system. Recently they provides tags , but well there are many missing tags , I tell them add some more , let's see what they do in the future

Everyone can upload a file. Steve generously uploaded the latest version of Mirror and he's neither mod or uploader. Heck, I'm neither of those and I supplied links to Melissa's entire collection.

We will eventually run into the issue of hosting space though. Hanna23s images were massive, I believe the first four chapters for Fated Disguise were well over 3gb. If we have to upload them elsewhere we'll eventually run out of storage or be forced to upload them to hosting sites that only host them temporarily.
I haven't decided what I'll do with Melissas work when she uploads the PDF files for all her running stories up to that point yet. As you'll notice I've only uploaded the November 2023 PDF file and I haven't uploaded any individual pictures up to that point. I'm slightly leaning to keeping that trend and removing the links to the picture files from the OP. Please feel free to share insights in this. I'm trying to look at things somewhat long-term. I appreciate people preferring the lossless image files, I'm just not sure how feasible that will be if we are to host those files ourselves. With Mediafire I know the files will be available until I do anything with them; I don't have that guarantee with other hosting files that may be unlimited.

Oh yeah, that's another wrinkle I hadn't even thought about. Free file hosts have a storage limit- one that you'd hit fast with Hanna23 and a couple other artists. Let's use Mega as an example. You can create a free account that gets you 15GB. What are most people here doing when they hit the limit? Create another Mega account with another email address? And then you have to deal with the fact that Mega will delete your account if you don't log into it for a certain number of days, so you could end up juggling dozens of accounts to maintain a large collection. Or, can you just upload to a temporary host and let it be the uploaders' problem? Does the first mirror have to be permanent?

Point ☝.... My English is poor , so I can't explain correctly, thank you for your explanation. I wanna tell the same thing . And I am not an expert, but why they are not just zip the file and upload here . You did the same thing at 8muss right ! Correct me if I am wrong, I must say , external mirror is unnecessary! Maybe it's ultimately help the site or maybe creat a loop where if something happens, then the site is not going to face any trouble, cause technically all the stuff is not in the site ,they are in the external mirrors , only the links is here ..I this make the site safe ...
Again correct me , if I am wrong

I'm not sure but I don't think the mirror has to be permanent. Some of the approved file hosts are temporary ones and surely they're approved for a reason.

One solution we may have as a community is to upload the images to a site like Pixeldrain, where I don't think is a cap as long as you don't sign in. They'll be accessible for 90 days without anyone clicking the link or downloading a file, and have the PDF files stored on a more permanent host, like Mega or Mediafire. That way the story will always have a link in the OP but those interested in the higher res pictures will have to be somewhat active once every couple of months.

I just went through the upload process to gain a better understanding of how it works. I picked a small comic to experiment with - Heads Up! Hopefully everything is working right. If not please let me know.

Step-by-step
1. I had to download all of the images.
2. I corrected some naming and numbering issues. Made a nicely organized folder.
3. I compressed the images as per the instructions here UPDATE - DO NOT COMPRESS THE IMAGES!
4. I cross my fingers that I did the compression correctly and wait for any future feedback about it.

5. I used 7-Zip to make a zip file.
6. I uploaded the zip file to Mega.
7. I read and re-read through the uploading rules here - Comics & Stills Uploading Rules.
8. I studied the template and copy/pasted the BBcode into a new thread here - Comic & Animation Requests.
9. I filled out the template and used the preview button to check on how things looked.
10. I did my best to make my preview look exactly like how other comics look. Latest Updates
11. I posted it and then reported my thread. - How to post content under Games / Comics & Animations
12. An F95 moderator/uploader made some adjustments and added 7 mirror download links.
13. My thread was approved and moved over to the comic section about 10 hours after I submitted it.
14. Now I'm waiting for some feedback to make sure I didn't screw anything up.

After going through the full process, my advice would be for us to use a buddy system to tag team this. If one person already has shareable download link(s) and they can partner up with someone else willing to handle the template, much time could be saved. As far as providing updates to someone else's thread, the instructions to the best of my understanding are - "Report the thread, tag it as Comic Update and include the link(s) for it."

Just to stay on topic since that is heavily encouraged here at F95. Below is a sneak peek photo of the next upcoming release for Aphrodite's Mirror. My guess is that this will probably get released today or tomorrow.

As someone who does not normally get too involved in file sharing, but did manage to add the file here, I will say the process seemed a bit daunting at first, but I did get excellent advice and it worked. I set up a file sharing account quickly - but, long term is that gonna be functional? I'm not the type of person who is likely to be consistently monitoring the status of my file share account, it just not something I do a lot (I didn't even have one until last week). I doubt that I'm that atypical. So that is an issue that should be considered.

You've uploaded using Mediafire and this is their :
To be exceedingly clear, if you access your Free registered account from our Web or Mobile platforms, or any service using the MediaFire API once per eight (8) months, your account will never be considered abandoned or removed. Free unregistered accounts may be considered abandoned after fourteen (14) days of inactivity. Paid accounts, such as Personal, Professional, and Business customers, are never considered inactive while maintaining an active subscription.
So since you've set up a free registered account your files will be available for at least 8 months. All you'll need to do is log in once every 8 months and things should be alright. Reading their policies I think we should be fine for a while. But eventually, that time will run out. Alternatively, we don't know if any other forum will also be around in 8 months time, so there's that. :)

Having PM'ed a supermod, I don't think we'll be able to have a Melissa N-inspired post like we had on the muses, so it's a good start to get started on creating new posts for other creators. Kudos!
I think we should be able to get a TGComics post going, which could maybe serve as an umbrella for several of their artists; maybe even some of their off-site work. So TGTrinity, CBlack, Emory and Tom Reynolds should all be allowed to go into one thread. I have a lot (most?) of CBlacks work I could share in such a topic. chalana.56 currently has a LilTKitten topic they're working on I expect will be revised and approved shortly.
That leaves only a few comic story artists remaining. From the top of my head, that's Hanna23, moonlly, SapphireFoxx and kannel. And of course authors like sixpacksite, TGStories, Cashmere Chloe and Sandy Thomas. We'll have to find an other way to share those stories, as F95 doesn't facilitate stories by them.

So if someone would be interested in starting a thread for one of the authors I mentioned in bold: that would be excellent and very welcome. And of course for those I forgot, this is by no means a definitive list.

F95 definitely prefers authors to have individual threads.

CBlack already has a thread that needs to be updated and turned into a collection.
https://f95zone.to/threads/opportunities-cblack.7090/
Same for Moonlly
https://f95zone.to/threads/the-substitute-part-1-3-moonlly.38414/

On a side note, I actually setup NewBeeTG's thread as a collection to "future proof it" but the moderator/uploader changed it into just a solo comic thread since it is only a single comic so far.

TGTrinity already has a collection thread that just needs to be updated.
https://f95zone.to/threads/tgtrinity-collection-2022-05-22-tgtrinity.23379/
Same for Tom Reynolds
https://f95zone.to/threads/tom-reynolds-collection-2022-03-26-tom-reynolds.112088/
Emory Ahlberg
https://f95zone.to/threads/emory-ahlberg-collection-2022-04-05-emory-ahlberg.113160/
Kannel
https://f95zone.to/threads/kannel-collection-patreon-kannel.21050/

MARE might be complete?
https://f95zone.to/threads/mare-collection-2023-06-02-mar3.48707/

SapphireFoxx already has requests for a thread. Hanna23, Cashmere Chloe, Sandy Thomas, ManaOmega, AmberWyld, and many others do still need threads.
