Well shes the younger cousin of the daughters is she not and based where they say they are education wise at the start of the story then she is indeed around that age. Her story is one of no one treats her with any respect because of her size (best not emphasize on age in the dialogue) but it still fits especially when others who are almost as young get treated much more maturely. Also not if you say the youngest youve been with is Haileys age (regardless of if you put 14 or 40) the response from the room is basically "what the fuck, dude, really?) and the most shocked response of the options... why would that be the response if she was say 18? That would get a much more muted response as its about the norm.

It's not 'the room' that reacts to saying Hailey's age, it's just Angela. And based on the pattern of how the other choices work that's most likely just because you're her uncle. Although it is kind of odd how the different '18' ones prompt responses from different girls, I guess.

That's what I wondered, too. "Canonically" the four options are only two ansers: 21 (Amanda's default age) or 18 (Hailey's or Christine's age, or directly by number).
However, even in real life it may sound creepy way beyond any suspicions of somebody being minor. If a 28 yo asked a 53 yo how far outside his own age they would go dating, and the answer is "exactly your age" that may just be what the questioner wanted to hear - or very creepy if no romantic interest is given.
And I think that's the point here, you're not referring to age but literally say "Hailey's age" which Angela then - not entirely wrongly - sees as a hit on your niece, her daughter. She may not think as much of it if you mention your own daughters because "protecting them" is not her field and it also may seem even more off as a premise that you meant it creepy.

Seems to me this all misses the point, the dev merely provided '18' as an option in that scene for players who made Christine and Hailey younger (I doubt many made Amanda underage). It really makes no sense as an option given the default ages but if, as an example, Christine was 17 and Hailey was 16 then it does (I made Hailey 17 in my playthrough which is over AoC where I live)

There's been cases when people went to jail because they were having sex with a younger girl, which was fine given that the age of consent allowed it but because they took explicit photos it was considered child pornography.

I think the youngest daughter now has some strong competition once you hit version 20 and the neice gets a upgrade. The niece went from just having a nice body to having a hot body and looking great. I can't wait for more content with her.
As soon as I saw the MC's sisters husband I was like oh it's him no wonder his sister wants to fuck her brother it's cause her husband is gay.I'm so going to steal her away from his ass.

Mid-life crisis huh, The dev really had to rub it in their faces. I am not complaining though.

Of course it's a real thing - and it may also be at the same time "numb lives catching up to them". Or the realization that your time on earth starts running out. Or the effect time has on your body - you just cannot do many things as easily as you used to. Often your kids are leaving home around this time, too, causing a sudden change of how you are living and making you think your future anew now that a responsibility has gone. Sex drive goes down too, so your relationship with your significant other changes.
Of course it isn't always the situation of "I am young, look at my sporty sports car, and how jive I still am" or trying to find younger women interested in you to boost your self-esteem. It may come as a slight depression in general. It may show itself in trying to do new things, learn stuff. It also doesn't affect everyone. But it is a real thing.
