The only reason F95 does not mark it as abandoned is contact. If the developer stays in contact with F95 it will not be marked as abandoned. A game can not be marked as abandoned regardless of progress. as 2 or 3 other games that have gone years without any updates. But those developers maintain contact with F95.
Wont they worry about it being abused tho, imagine a developer ignore his own game for 8 to 12 month cause he only want to earn money from pat, so he decide to visit f95 often making sure that his *fans* still think he is working on it while also keep his game off the abandon list.

I don't remember the names of the games. But people have pointed to a couple of games with no updates for a couple of years. If a person is still supporting after that long. I don't think it has anything to do with the tag.
Doubt it would matter all that much the thread would be full of users stating that the dev isn't really working on the game and any patrons could just stop supporting them until they post renders & progress updates to prove they are actually working on the game. The biggest issue for me is devs who do constant reworks like Two Sides it's on what rework 3 or 4 now and still buggy as hell, or devs who make a game I really like but lose motivation or some issue comes up irl and the game gets abandoned like ASL
. If a dev just stops working on their game but still tries to milk their patrons then it's up to them to stop supporting the dev.

people just forget they are even patroned, or don't care / too lazy to cancel. I know a lot of people who have things like game subscriptions (runescape membership) or hulu netflix crunchyroll etc etc that they never use but theyre just too lazy to cancel their recurring subscription.

A fair comment.
Although there is a significant difference between this Developer and Gumdrop, but despite all of that patrons and others still have a choice to either pay or ignore the game.

One think I learned from sports is support doesn't mean shit in measuring wether something is good or bad. The Cleveland Browns have been a terrible and poor performing business longer than anyone in this thread has been born yet they still have one of the most die hard fanbasses who continue to support them to this day same for the Knicks, dont be so naive to assume support size means that there's nothing wrong with how things are functioning.So many whiners here.
No doubt, the same whiners who will all instantly download and play it when it is eventually released. If Icstor were so bad then his patrons and many here would have moved on already.

If a game is "Abandoned" it will show as such. Icstor gave notice, just after Christmas that he was taking a break "burnout" etc. Therefore the game would probably only show as "on hold", and as far as I recall it wasn't. He even posted on his Patreon page, as well as on Discord, what he was doing to "offset" the issue. Therefore the game info was left "as is". He also recently (end of July, beginning of August announced details with regards to this game and the latest update (V0.6) and as usual this forum went into meltdown. You name it and someone on here probably said it.
Currently the game is at 95%. That means this update is nearly ready for release. When at 100% it will go through bug testing etc and then be put out (DTBA, and that's what's annoying a lot of people too).
Also if a game gets abandoned there's also an option to be used, either by the Dev, assuming they know their game is listed on here, and that is there's generally a set time (someone will know what this is) as to when a game is listed as abandoned. The Mods on here will then list the game as such.
Plenty do get abandoned, due to varying reasons, games also get put on hold too, and then if nothing has happened for X amount of time, or the Dev gives details then it'll more than likely be listed as "Abandoned".
Yyou only have to use a search function to see the current list of Abandoned games.
Milfy City itself has gone through a far few versions of the game. It's out there in the ether. Someone will probably even say how many versions there are too.

Yes, recently a game was set to Abandoned which had not quite yet met that criteria for lack of base communications (i.e., prior three months) - it seemed to get the label because that Dev had a record of offering a first installment and not continuing, plus their most recent communications did not offer hope that they would even be able to continue the game development due to other issues in their life. Milfy City has had reasonable communications from the dev team before and after ICSTOR's break and his progress continues to move forward - he pissed a number of people off for scope-creeping, which added even more time to wait for the next release, but that's a different thing than showing no intent or active involvement in the game towards progress. Even the writer for the game has spoken up about their status as they've been engaged. So, it's far from Abandoned.
