If a game is "Abandoned" it will show as such. Icstor gave notice, just after Christmas that he was taking a break "burnout" etc. Therefore the game would probably only show as "on hold", and as far as I recall it wasn't.
I'm pretty sure it showed On Hold until he released a preview image and told people that he was back and had started working on 0.6 again.

people just forget they are even patroned, or don't care / too lazy to cancel. I know a lot of people who have things like game subscriptions (runescape membership) or hulu netflix crunchyroll etc etc that they never use but theyre just too lazy to cancel their recurring subscription.
This.

I have a friend that was too lazy to cancel his World of Warcraft and various other MMO subscriptions even after he hadn't played them for years.

Hell, even I have a gym membership that I haven't used in a little over a year.

I dont think its good idea to put ability to change status in devs hand.
It can be easly exploited by devs, as in this very example.
On hold tag should be given automaticly after some fixed period of time without devs activity.
We better watch out for these Devs exploiting us pirates because said pirates didn't put a tag on their pirate site.

All joking aside, I realize this forum generates exposure but anyone who feels potentially conned by a dev has no business blaming it on the potential lack of a tag when there are endless discussions about the work ethic of said dev in the same thread.
