How has this not been marked as abandoned? Other devs get that tag if they don't update for far shorter time-spans.

I fail to understand why so many of you want it so bad that the thread is marked as abandoned. What difference does it make? This is a pirate site and the vast majority are not here to find new devs they'd like to support
Besides, this thread has been negative towards ICSTOR and the game for the whole of 2020, if this makes you interested in supporting ICSTOR then yeahhh ...

my only problem is that Sara was my favorite character, and she has been locked in her room for nearly 3 years - the Mom was the main character, and she has been abandoned for over a year (literally, Dad left); ICSTOR, a few years ago, put up a community poll, and the winning result was that the game would "end" with the Mom, Younger Sis, and Older Sis all getting pregnant by the MC in a 4-way harem - - i don't see that happening anymore

People think it'll be punitive somehow, as though tagging the game as "abandoned" will lead to an immediate mass exodus of patrons and money from the dev. This in turn will somehow lead to increased development speed and thus more free faps for them.

It's paradoxical, really, because the same crowd will often crow that because a dev gets more money on Patreon then it should also lead to faster development times. Basically there's no monetary situation under which a dev is allowed to work slower

Does anyone know the reason why the dev is not posting anything on patreon since May 23 2020...i seriously hope this game is still going...i love this game

Does that mean this game is still going or he left it in the middle or as you said again taking a break...? i'll tell you i'm not a patreon to him but i love this game i've been waiting for update or some post if not i'll delete it i've already completed it to the point where this update ends...

Still going. Just don't be expectant about the update. Play it then shove it aside for a year or so then enjoy other games.

I believe this phenomenon would be called Dunning–Kruger effect . It's basically a psychological bias where one person can overestimate their talent which lead to an issue where upon gaining experience, the realization of how much there's yet to learn and do dawns on them. So self-perception changes its sign to "minus" and you get bad work practices which lead to inefficient/stressing work and burn outs.
You are wrong in your diagnostic though... it's not the first time nor the first project he has done this with... he is just lacking any prefessionalism
It's very common in lewd games, where most new devs have no experience in game-making which often lead to horribly designed gameplay mechanics, over-ambitious goals, poor writing, lack of general creativity, improper work ethics (People don't know how to properly debug, design their workflow and such, which lead to increase dev times and more development difficulties).
Again he is among the more experienced Devs in the genre, haveing already completed several smaller and equal projects... however in the later times you can only call them "completed" as he set a screen with "the end" while several story arcs remained open or hastily ended

likely because threads with the "abondened" tag tend to be far less frequented... toning down the repeated wining about ICStor's Patreons being to rich and stupid to live a normal day and stuff I suppose

A question for anyone able to answer.

If we can get the dev to admit he has halted the game - is anyone here capable of picking it up and finishing it? I don't mind helping with the writing/editing part, seeing as I lack any other experience required.

The game is something of a gem, and as a poster earlier today said it, the dev has probably overestimated himself and is now suffering the stresses of an inefficient workflow. His post says it better and I have to agree, seeing as I've been a writer on games before, I can confirm this happens quite frequently in smaller dev teams.

It's a sad thing to see that the dev doesn't seem to be on rails anymore. Between very long periods of silence and an obvious lack of work done for a long time despite an arguable success, it's clear to me that the dev isn't capable of handling the game anymore.

It's one of the reasons that despite being an actual indie game dev, i choose to not (yet) dedicate time on a new lewd game since i know the implications of game-making (and i'm waiting for my other game to be fulfilled before starting a new one). Something many new naive devs forget and fall into when they see the success of a handful of lewd game.
Again, if the dev drops the game or puts it on indefinite hold, I wouldn't mind helping to pick it up. Now it's out there.
