Hey, you forgot the 0.6d release. You know, when he "forgot" to include some animations in what was supposed to be the final animated 0.6 version. Miraculously, he managed to whip up the remaining animations in literally 1 or 2 days thus releasing the 0.6e version, so everything cool

I don't think that's true.

While I'm not happy with his behavior, when I looked at his site he was getting nothing but trashed in his latest update post.

While I don't necessarily pity him, if we take what he said about personal issues truthfully and mix it with all the (correct) shit being thrown his way, I doubt I'd handle that pressure.

I don't want to excuse him, but I would like him to own up to his failings and either get on with it or at least give it to the community to finish.

I can't believe there are still suckers who feel one bit of pity. He collects enough money that he could have hired a team to finish Milfy City if he were bored and he could have moved onto his new project. He's a bulshitting, scam artist. I cut my Patreon over a year ago with no regrets. Patreon is just another paypig scam and he's the equivalent of an eTHOT.

I agree with your analyses of ICStor but Patreon has brought towards us many great games that would have never been possible otherwise.
The art is to discern the art from the trash and pevious developer from the scam/con artists.
Well that's an art you need to learn the hardway though

That is most likely the case, because everyone is awful. I'm newer to the scene and saw his uploading and behavior issues and I've never given him a cent.

I guess for me I just feel bad that this is likely a no-win situation from him, since the one thing everyone wants from him he's unwilling to do.

Also I saw that he did a poll and the "move on to a new project" won. Who would choose that knowing how he runs projects?

The problem is, he hasn't actually abandoned it. He definitely might not be working on it regularly, but he has to be acutely aware of the perception since his Discord is pretty much full of people asking about the release daily.

He doesn't engage with his audience at all, which I find really weird. I personally understand delays, and as a patron for like 1-2 months of his, I realized pretty quickly that engaging with his audience wasn't his thing. That alone for me is enough to shy away from a dev.

I think it's fair to say, with no release and little progress over a year, that at least "on hold" seems like an accurate characterization. If he's working on it so infrequently as to make very slow progress, it's effectively on hold.

If you truely believe that after the shit he pulled in regards to 0.6 you must be desperate for this game to continue.
There was a time in between 0.5 and 0.6 when people did have that hope... but it was crushed by ICStor back than... now a days everyone should be aware that he is no longer invested in the project but earns to well to just let it die as he previously did
