Real talk though, the taboo nature of the industry means that is under supplied for its demand. If you do want to make some money and have the resources to put together a good art team you can make a killing. I would go the 2D route though personally.
Probably I'm thinking wrong of this honorable dev, but I believe than the new game will be a 2D rpg.

These are great games but i think only midnight paradise and being a DIK have the same render quality.
Treasure of nadia, Timestamps, WVM, Become a Rockstar are the first that come to my mind
