Fortunately, we don't kill each other like real piratesI just realised that this site is like big pirate ship and we are just chilling on it and pillaging stuff, most of the time arguing like the true pirates.![]()
Sadly we don't really get that much action in RL aswellFortunately, we don't kill each other like real pirates![]()
Mate, if you're comparing a porn game to Stephen King you must be off your meds. You people need take off Icstor from his pedestal. This. Is. A. Porn. Game. And the writing reflects it.I had decided not to give a serious opinion in this thread anymore. Since the game took a u-turn towards parodic territory, I think it's only proper to do the same. But I'm gonna make an exception today.
Look, your statements on writing, pace, and production standards are incredibly shortsighted, to say the least. Firstly, there are no fixed writing standards. There are hundreds of genres and an unlimited number of writers. And each of the latter is different in terms of style, goals, and overall performance. Trying to set a minimum daily word count is akin to establishing how many hours one person needs to spend studying in order to pass an exam. Well, it depends on the exam, the subject, and the person.
The thing is the conditions that, according to you, guarantee a solid production are not even right. Not every writer starts working on a piece of fiction with a "plot" in his/her mind. In fact, there are literary movements that specifically seek to avoid plot-driven stories (Sherwood Anderson went as far as to call it "the poison plot"). Try to label and analyse James Joyce basing your analysis on plot, and you'll feel as puzzled as a fisherman trying to cast a net in the desert.
George R.R. Martin —and perhaps it is really appropriate to mention his case when we are talking about writers' production— divides writers into two categories, engineers and gardeners. It's perhaps a bit simplistic, but I think it's interesting and works for a considerable number of fiction writers. If you are a gardener, which Martin is, you only start with the "seed" of a story and get to see what it really is as you go. That kind of writer is bound to a long journey, full of twists, pleasant and unpleasant surprises. You might know where you want to go, but you don't have many clues as to how you'll get there. As a result, trying to provide a fixed daily production is almost impossible, since you will have to fix problems that you didn't even know existed, and (probably) that will entail rewriting entire portions of your work. And if you try to force yourself into getting X number of words, you'll only be buying tickets for the big prize, a yummy writer's block. Trust me; I'm a gardener.
I don't know if coding is more difficult than writing; I never tried to do the former. What I know is that writing (at least, good writing) is not easy and cannot be produced as if you were working in a fast food production facility. As a poet from my country famously said about love, "whoever has tasted it knows". As a final note, I would add that Stephen King, one of the most prolific writers ever, is usually able to write some 2,000 words per day. And if this guy needs to "develop his craft", we all do.
Can you send me that money? Who knows I may give you something. My $5 contribution every thirty days isn't a large enough sum to make me feel milked. It's like buying a lottery ticket. I'm just throwing it out there hoping that it's the month I hit the jackpot.![]()
Perhaps you should bother reading the whole conversation I was quoting to infer context and not jump to conclusions, or just paying attention to what you are reading. I'm not comparing Icstor to King nor any other writer (in fact, as far as I know, Icstor is an artist, not a writer). I was talking about writing in general, and how one needs to take into account that there are different styles, artistic (or commercial) goals, and not just one way of doing things, which is true for fiction, TV writing, or any other medium. This was a general reflection on writing, not on the process that goes into producing this game specifically, which is an entirely differente matter and, right now, a task more fitting for a psychologist with detective skills (or the other way around) than a philologist.Mate, if you're comparing a porn game to Stephen King you must be off your meds. DMD 0.23 obviously.So... Death Stranding or Milfy City 0.6, which is getting released first?
we all do ;dI Love You Sara
since he did not say what year they would release....yes he is a man of his word0.7 in October and 0.8 in December just like Icstor said. He is a man of his word!
What? where? I'll come at em with a shotgun in one hand and beer in the otherAh man they deleted their post but someone was claiming all the people complaining are infidel trash Americans. I'm all for calling out people for doing something you don't like free speech and all but don't disrespect my country over a fucking porn game grow the fuck up. I'm pretty sure there are people complaining from different countries don't just assume it's all America just because it's something negative.
Without going into all the variables of writing I just want to touch on a few points.I had decided not to give a serious opinion in this thread anymore. Since the game took a u-turn towards parodic territory, I think it's only proper to do the same. But I'm gonna make an exception today.

And this is purely conjecture and highly dependent on the writer. My man Terry Pratchett wrote over 40 excellent novels in his lifetime, a couple of those while he had Alzheimer's. Perhaps story telling just comes more naturally to some than others. Either way, 60k is not a stretch. What I know is that writing (at least, good writing) is not easy and cannot be produced as if you were working in a fast food production facility.
You don't have to vent your frustrations here - you can do exactly what you do during football games and yell at your monitor. Venting your frustrations here only benefits you, and gives everyone else a pile of shit to wade through.Another reason people complain is to vent their frustrations even though they know nothing will come of it. It's actually healthier to get it off your chest rather than keeping it bottled inside worried someone might not like it.
By your own admission if I'm at home watching a Football game and my team is playing terrible and I'm up yelling at the team and the coach then you'll say why are you complaining it's not going to make the team win. True but getting my frustrations out really helps and I'm sure sports fans around the world will attest to that. The same applies to this thread.
There will always be two sides to every coin on one side there's his discord which is more peaceful and doesn't question his actions then there's here which is the opposite you're just going to have to accept that that's the reality of the situation. One thing you are right about is complaining won't make the update come faster but complaining about complaining won't make the complaining stop so what are you complaining for?
What do you hope to accomplish by complaining about complaining in this thread? What's the goal?
He has become a Charlatan over the past year all these promises to release the update and here we still are waiting for that to happen it doesn't bode well for him if he was to ever make another project. Now correct me if I'm wrong here. Icstor said you'll still get the update if you stop supporting him now. But payments are at the beginning of the month, if you stop supporting him now, you've already paid for the month of September assuming it comes out this month. However if it comes out October and you opt out now, doesn't that mean you won't be able to see Icstor's Patreon posts of October, including the update release if it releases next month?
If I'm correct on how Patreon works then that is the most fishy thing ever. Plus if he's so vocal about how you have the option to not support him, he should just pause pledges, that'll make it so people feel less cheated money-wise but he doesn't....
