Without going into all the variables of writing I just want to touch on a few points.I had decided not to give a serious opinion in this thread anymore. Since the game took a u-turn towards parodic territory, I think it's only proper to do the same. But I'm gonna make an exception today.
Look, your statements on writing, pace, and production standards are incredibly shortsighted, to say the least. Firstly, there are no fixed writing standards. There are hundreds of genres and an unlimited number of writers. And each of the latter is different in terms of style, goals, and overall performance. Trying to set a minimum daily word count is akin to establishing how many hours one person needs to spend studying in order to pass an exam. Well, it depends on the exam, the subject, and the person.
The thing is the conditions that, according to you, guarantee a solid production are not even right. Not every writer starts working on a piece of fiction with a "plot" in his/her mind. In fact, there are literary movements that specifically seek to avoid plot-driven stories (Sherwood Anderson went as far as to call it "the poison plot"). Try to label and analyse James Joyce basing your analysis on plot, and you'll feel as puzzled as a fisherman trying to cast a net in the desert.
George R.R. Martin —and perhaps it is really appropriate to mention his case when we are talking about writers' production— divides writers into two categories, engineers and gardeners. It's perhaps a bit simplistic, but I think it's interesting and works for a considerable number of fiction writers. If you are a gardener, which Martin is, you only start with the "seed" of a story and get to see what it really is as you go. That kind of writer is bound to a long journey, full of twists, pleasant and unpleasant surprises. You might know where you want to go, but you don't have many clues as to how you'll get there. As a result, trying to provide a fixed daily production is almost impossible, since you will have to fix problems that you didn't even know existed, and (probably) that will entail rewriting entire portions of your work. And if you try to force yourself into getting X number of words, you'll only be buying tickets for the big prize, a yummy writer's block. Trust me; I'm a gardener.
I don't know if coding is more difficult than writing; I never tried to do the former. What I know is that writing (at least, good writing) is not easy and cannot be produced as if you were working in a fast food production facility. As a poet from my country famously said about love, "whoever has tasted it knows". As a final note, I would add that Stephen King, one of the most prolific writers ever, is usually able to write some 2,000 words per day. And if this guy needs to "develop his craft", we all do.
-George R.R. Martin is a hack. I can only assume the reason we haven't seen the rest of his series is because he ran out of Western history to plagiarize.
-I have always found Stephen King's writing to be a little coarse and unpolished. His beginnings and middles are great, his endings are weak.
-I know that when I have those three things and I sit down to write, I can easily bang out 10k words in an afternoon. Maybe it's a gift.
The whole point of my post was that I do not find 60k to be an unbelievable benchmark. If Icstor says he's laid down 60k for this update, I have nothing, based on my personal experience, to doubt that. Though others lacking my personal experience clearly do.
And this is purely conjecture and highly dependent on the writer. My man Terry Pratchett wrote over 40 excellent novels in his lifetime, a couple of those while he had Alzheimer's. Perhaps story telling just comes more naturally to some than others. Either way, 60k is not a stretch.

Now correct me if I'm wrong here. Icstor said you'll still get the update if you stop supporting him now. But payments are at the beginning of the month, if you stop supporting him now, you've already paid for the month of September assuming it comes out this month. However if it comes out October and you opt out now, doesn't that mean you won't be able to see Icstor's Patreon posts of October, including the update release if it releases next month?
If I'm correct on how Patreon works then that is the most fishy thing ever. Plus if he's so vocal about how you have the option to not support him, he should just pause pledges, that'll make it so people feel less cheated money-wise but he doesn't....

You don't have to vent your frustrations here - you can do exactly what you do during football games and yell at your monitor. Venting your frustrations here only benefits you, and gives everyone else a pile of shit to wade through.
You'll notice, that in my post, I congratulated the person for cancelling his sub, and then I asked some questions about what people hope to accomplish by whining about the devs lack of progress here. If you're equating questions to complaining, then perhaps you should consider a refresher English course.

He has become a Charlatan over the past year all these promises to release the update and here we still are waiting for that to happen it doesn't bode well for him if he was to ever make another project.

While you aren't entirely wrong I will say by the amount of people venting their frustrations at this point I'm pretty sure it benefits more than just them selves, if you have problems then you see dozens of other people with the same problem then it helps to come together in a dev bashing hate support group we're all here for each other man. Things like these come in waves you just have to weather the storm till it passes over which will be when the the update drops untill then the storm will continue raging. Though I don't fault you for your stance I never said it was unreasonable.

He will continue to get pledges no matter if promises are broken. He knows it and that's the reason he is not bothered by it. No matter how much people complain in this thread like I have seen in so many other threads of other games, at the end of the day, the ones who support the dev will continue the support and the moment the update gets released and people see "1000 new images" and "60 new animations!!" everyone will forget that it took an year for this and the patreon support will increase That is what history has taught us.So calm down grab a beer and wait for the update because at the end of the day all this bickering here won't change a thing

I am pretty calm actually plenty of other games to keep me occupied
besides watching the bickering can be fun.It's like people forgot Irredeemable. People will keep defending the dev. Especially when they've spent money on him. You need to admit you wasted your money on a dev. It's a difficult mental barrier to overcome.
Personally, I like icstor and his works. I understand if he is experiencing some burnout. I mean, having your source of income from making porn games is depressing. Not to mention you need to beg people money through patreon.
