Oh man... that sucks on what happened to Redamz... and the potential change Apple wants to put into place is going to cause more issues for Redamz. Apple is talking about removing Discord from the iStore unless they remove access to NSFW servers on iOS devices.
And now Discord? I hope Discord's staff learn from what happened to Tumblr and tell Apple no.

I just found a different source on the info with an update...

According to this source it was Discord who voluntarily decided to block it to line up with the Apple iStore TOS, however they have partly reversed course and are allowing access to SFW servers with NSFW channels but are upholding the server filtering for servers centered around NSFW content.

That is still sad to see. This is going to take down a lot of good servers with years of work and community building put into them.

This is somewhat reassuring but even if he were going to cut and run it's not like he would admit it or even go silent. Doing that would get his supporters to pull their funding. That said, I would still like to see them move to Subscribestar and continue the game as planned with their crowdfunding model.

While I fucking hate what Patreon is doing (which is why I avoid using them), I am so glad this longest running fraud by a con artist has come to an end. Looking at his patrons count vs revenue he once had, he probably was making around $80k a month in the most recent months... Hopefully, people will be able to give that money to some actually passionate devs who need support, instead of giving it to this con artist.

So, while what Patreon is doing with suppression is bad, what happened to Redamz specifically, is one of the best news I've heard in ages. I've been part of like first 50 people that supported the project and saw him get greedier and greedier over the years. It's about time this came to an end. Some justice has finally been served

This is insane. With that amount of money (Minus Patreon fees) and his prior month's donations, he should have more than enough money to release the full game without any need for donations. For that matter, he could release his game for free and still walk away with a swollen wallet.

I just noticed that in the trailer of the game on Steam there is a sequence not present in the prologue, but that we have seen in the fourth chapter (I remind you that the prologue ends with the third chapter followed by the interlude). The sequence in question is that of Typhoon sitting on the tree while he holds up the phone with one of his snakes/hair.
This sequence will appear within the fourth chapter, when we meet Typ again in the forest. I don't actually know if Redamz updated the trailer during or after the development of the fourth chapter, in case it has not been updated the trailer would date back to June 20, 2019 or even earlier.
In this case Redamz would have had that part of the game already complete or in any case in progress, this could mean that Red is and has always been ahead in development compared to the builds posted. In addition, the final scene of the same trailer, the one in which Shuri smiles at the camera from a bridge, also jumped to my eye, but regarding this I'm not sure if or when it happened in the game.

From curiosity I joined his Discord to just peek from time to time to see if any updates were made, as for now he uploaded there most recent build (the September one) and Halloween build for free. It is nice but still a bit scary, now stuff behind the paywall is free from dev itself and so people can't demand anything since they don't pay him anymore. Silently hoping he will finish it, but now future of the game is more unsure than ever because money flow stopped, and so any kind of responsibility

It sure as hell don't seem that way for the normie pronz, every mayor standard page gets tons of new content every day, they seem to be targeting our "cultured" pron, I even saw a few months back that pornhub was deleting most of the videos that had these type of things (monster girls, alien, fantasy, etc...) and was stated that the reason for deletion was "presence of animals on screen". Pppppreposterous I say.

True, I saw some of those too, hopefully you're right and there is more progress than we thought..

Ara Scene VR REMASTERED

Hi everyone, as some may know, that build doesn't work with the latest headsets. So, to start getting familiar with Unity (which I'm going to use for personal projects) I started working on a remastered that makes it possible to use that build even with the latest technologies.
As I expected I had to start redoing all the scripts from scratch (what better time to improve in programming?).

The remastered is NOT over yet, there are still several things to do, but I have a little alpha ready for the owners of Quest and Quest 2.
Speaking of the remastered: the main goal I have is the porting on Quest/Quest 2, but there will also be the SteamVR version (which will come a little later).

I changed the setting and the 3D model of Ara: the setting is now no longer that area defined by wooden fences, but now it is Ara's house, while the model is still Ara, but it is simply that of the last Build. The animations are the same, but the new model, during them in some places seems to bend in a strange way (these days I will look if I can solve).

In the Quest version the animations change very slowly, probably because of the fps. These days I will also solve this.

There are still some features that I suspect were present in the original version, but slowly I hope to be able to implement those too. In return, however, I added something else... ;)
For now, SFX is also missing, which I will probably add in the next version. I also plan to add a menu to manage other aspects of the build.

Also, at the moment it is possible to move yourself within the scene, but I strongly advise against it. I will remove the ability to move shortly, as it is useless and pointless compared to the build type.

For Quest/Quest 2 owners: You can install the apk via . Feedback will be very helpful and any help is welcome.

FIRST UPDATE

I finally fixed the camera, now I think it is much better and I don't think it will go through many changes. In addition, I also fixed the audio. Now all SFX should work and I've fixed some bugs, but not all of them yet. This build now seems more stable on Quest.

At the moment I have encountered 3 bugs left:
- An SFX that plays one too many times when returning to idle.

- The camera of the player that after a few rounds of animations freezes and stops moving when the animations change.

- Ara that always after a few turns of animations enters a specific animation without having given the input.

From now on, I will work on fixing these bugs, and I will try to make some parts of the body affected by physics.

Regarding the facial animations: for these I am referring to those present in the build for Desktop, however among the game files of the VR build there is nothing that refers to these animations.
In the next few days I will look at how the situation is also in the PC build and in case I will import those animations in the current project.

What will be missing to do:

- Vibration in controllers
- Menu
- Make the build available for SteamVR too

2nd UPDATE

Bugs in the latest update should have been fixed in this build.
Facial animations have also been added and some details have changed (for example Ara's hair which is now visible from both sides).

From now on I'll be working on physics, controller vibration and shaders.

After that, a small menu and port for SteamVR will remain to be done.

In the first post I mentioned the speed of change of the type of animations slowed down due to the fps of the Quest 2 (I think the same applies to the Quest as well). I said I would correct this by making it as fast as the PC: change of plans. Looking at the original build as well, I think this is better.
I am however open to feedback.

Bug Fix

I was recently pointed out that a bug was preventing the camera from moving in the latest update, I double-checked the first one as well and the same problem occurred despite both updates being tested before publication. However, this bug should now be fixed.

QUEST/QUEST 2 RELEASE

Finally, this should be the latest update for the Quest / Quest 2 version.

In this version physics has been added in several elements present.
Added controller vibration.
All major bugs should have been fixed.
No menu has been added as it is not necessary.

In these days I will start working on the SteamVR version.
I'll keep you up-to-date.

STEAMVR RELEASE

And here's the SteamVR version too. There are some differences from the version for Quest/Quest 2: such as the vibration cannot be deactivated, the position of the camera is not fixed and to change the animation you need to double press the button. The rest is pretty much the same.

The download also includes the controller configuration files.

If you find any bug do not hesitate to report it and I hope you appreciate my work even if it is not perfect.

What am I going to do now?
From now on, I will be working 100% on my own game, an anime-style 3D visual novel about mental health.
At the moment I am still in a very young stage of work, but by the middle of next year I should already have a playable demo that will be published on Itch.io.

In the first cutscene I confirm that the map is not available, regarding the crash I think it could be caused by the hardware, what components do you have?

I joined his Discord a long time ago. I did not find any updates, infos and progression there in regards to MGI.
If you search for his posted messages, 95% is about Genshin Impact it seems (addicted? :unsure:).
Dont know if now there will be now more MGI Infos since his Patreon is down, but I have my doubts. Even if he will silently work away at the game, I would except updates maybe every 6 months.
And since patreon is no more I wonder how builds will be distributed. Will they be free and everybody gets them? Will there be no builds and he just works for the next steam release?

Although personal and bad on my part, I wish there are other proposals that come out, because come on, a game with 3d monster girls and without taking into account the history, present a more or less large cast of species as planned, it is without a doubt too good an idea not to exist.
I remember seeing Monster Girl Island for the fist time something like 8 years ago... It was just the start, don't even know if there were any scenes yet, I didn't downloaded it because I wanted to give it some time to be worked on. I forgot about it and 2 or 3 years later I stumbled across the name and remembered and went ahead and downloaded the latest build at that time, which was a disaster, scenes would bug, saves worked 1/3 of the time, 50/50 chance it crashed to desktop every 10 minutes or so, but it had most of the scenes. Forgot about it again and 5 years later I saw the name somewhere and went "oh I forgot about MGI, it must be finished by now..." (You fool!), so I downloaded the latest build at the end of last year and found that while the game was vastly improved (No more crashing, better optimization, saves worked, more detailed and fully built levels), It turned out that the story advanced just a little and there was only like one new scene.
I know that making a game takes a shit load of time, especially if you're working alone, but I see many solo game devs that show constant progress on their projects and release new builds every month, some even every two weeks, and the known fact that Red was basically addicted to Genshin kind of sounds like some serious slacking off... He said that he has more of the game completed but hasn't released it yet, but who knows, I guess I'm gonna have to forget again and come back in 5 years.
