Am I missing something? I don't see the option to change race. I finished the vampire pub side quest and got my Luka's human race to level 10. But I still don't see the option to change race.

Not everyone can change their race after maxing it out. Some are stuck to their default one or must progress with the story to unlock it.

If Promestein doesn't offer you the option when you talk to her then it probably means you didn't do Bunni's side quest (where Promestein creates the Slime->Beast conversion).

I'm having an issue running the game. I have downloaded the latest version of the game a few days ago, and I was able to play for a few hours without issue. However, when I tried to play today the game kept failing to load. I tried restarting my pc as the game recommended, and when that didn't work I tried deleting and redownloading the game. Unfortunately, the game is still failing to load. Does anyone have any advice?

Whatever the problem is it is limited to your end. You may be doing something wrong when translating or there is something odd with your system.

Download/extract fresh game and run it before adding translation. If it works before and does not after, you are doing something odd.

Here is pre patched game... my 20 minutes of life goes poof :3
Not to throw shade at your version, but I noticed that a bunch of the scene transitions just don't happen (particularly when a battle starts) and that a lot of the remaining text is not MTL'd (which I assumed was the point of running a full translator package rather than just replacing fan translated files). My go to check is giving Amira any gift, as her reactions seem to be untranslated in every version I have tried.

The mega link on the main thread appears to have the same amount of translation done without the missing transitions, so I would recommend sticking with that one.

So rather than this being a direct sequel to MGQ3, this is an alternate universe? Played the first ten minutes and that seemed to be the case, but I hate RPGM and the inability to fast forward through text that the OG had. Is it worth it or is it just a bunch of reused scenes from the original with a new story and the RPGM elements?

It *is* a direct sequel but the beginning doesn't make it very apparent. In any case this is a good enough game to stand on its own even if you removed all porn in it but you have to like rpgs in the first place. As for H-scenes, monsters who existed in the original have more or less the exact same loss scenes but sometimes they also have new ones (as requests if you recruit them). There's also a bunch of new monsters and characters who also have scenes of course.

I was skeptical too (to the point where I didn't even touch this until Part 2 was out). But it's actually massively expanded in scope from the original games, and there's frankly more content here than any other H-game I've ever seen. At the very least, I'd suggest getting the game and unlocking the gallery by examining the bed in Luca's INN. Playing the game definitely provides a lot of context that enhances the experience overall, though. And it features a Very Easy mode, which lets you basically coast through the game without having to worry about any kind of RPG strategy. And as another poster pointed out, you can hold down the "A" key to skip any text--and it skips extremely quickly.

am I missing something or is there really no quest log in this game? I dont know what I need to do after arriving in the harpy village lol
Have you recruited Amira? If so, she's in the Pocket Castle and can keep you up to date on story and side quests by talking to her. Though it's kind of a rant if you have a lot of quests, since you can't ask about specific ones. She just lists them all off and how to get to them.

Character specific quests is on a note straight to the wall from the entrance to the Pocket Castle, telling you who to talk to.
