I need another run-through of the most recent update. First time around the other day, I popped it up while I was drunk and spent the whole time w/ one eye drunkenly squinting trying to spot Tara in her chair in the background. I don't even remember what happened at the beach

Silly question...
I've been seeing "Dog days of summer" for a while and while I don't mind Lesbian sex at all, I have not been able to convince myself to play it yet (Playing as a full on Lesbian MC). I have played a couple of Female MC games and I must admit that a lot of times, I kinda root for one of the lesbian possibilities. (For instance Sophia and Ellie in "A Wife and Mother")
When I saw this game, I just though WOW! The art and characters look so stunning. Especially the daughter
So back to my question... For other hetero male players. How much do you enjoy this game? Would you recommend me to try this out? Playing as a lesbian MC is just so far removed from my frame of reference I kinda find it hard to immerse myself in game's starting scenario.
I know there are a ton of games out there that caters for my taste, but I'm just curious if there are any other hetero guys out there that's playing and enjoying this game or is it mostly females playing the game?
P.S. I know that these games are rare, so please don't see it as a negative on the game. I actually think the game looks bloody awesome. Good luck to the dev.

I would guess that the majority of people playing this game are "hetero guys" - the metrics published by companies like PornHub etc show that lesbian porn is very popular among male viewers. Many of us do not want to consume porn that consists mainly of lingering close-ups of other men's dicks.

Even if I didn't this one and DDS are worth a play, you're not the MC [they're written in third person], you're following a story rather than playing a character [DDS you have lots of choices on where it's going, MLS less so, but it's a side game]
The art is gorgeous , both in DDS and possibly even more so in MLS. They're well written, albeit there's a lot of typos, though each update tends to remove a few.
I'd certainly give both DDS and MLS a go

In difference to male MC:s, a female MC is usually allowed to have an actual personality, since female MC is not written to be a self-insert for males. This makes a game much better.
And in most VN:s, 95% of males are jerks, assholes and/or creeps. If not outright rapists. And for a female protag game that means that only lesbian options remain for me since I have no interest in those males. So for female protag, it is better to just go with all-lesbian from the start.

I agree with you.
But I'm also going to come a bit to the defence of the male MCs.
Most players including myself, like to play these characters because in the game, your character can do what you only wish you could do in real life. For instance, if you know a pretty young female is showering. No one in their right mind is going to try and peep. But every honest man will admit that he would like to, if there were no consequences. Or playing with a sleeping women's naughty bits. A lot of men would like to do that if there were a guarantee that the women in question would get turned on and not get mad if she caught you doing it.
But in RL that does not happen. You would just be a creep that sexually assaulted a woman.
Going out on a limb here, but I would guess some women also fantasies about getting raped (In the lightest sense of the word). IE the idea of a handsome stranger having sex and forcing himself on you.
But I'm pretty sure no one really wants to get raped or assaulted in RL.
Maybe my examples are not good, but playing a bit of a creep is like putting a kid in a candy store. You can live your sexual fantasies without any consequences. If you look at it objectively, very few MCs in these games are morally upstanding people. (The MC from "Leap of Faith" and the MCs in Tora games so far are some of the few MCs I have played with good morals)
Playing a run of the mill MC that does none of these things and having sex with your GF/Wife is pretty much just real life.
Even in this game (Have not played it so can not say for sure), the mom sounds like a bit of a creep for wanting to have sex with her daughter.
TLDR; Most male MCs are creeps, but playing a non creepy realistic male MC would be boring most of the times with a few exceptions (Like Tora games and Leap of faith)

Sorry, I wasn't entirely clear. I wasn't actually talking about the MC here, but all other males in VN:s. Both in VN:s with male MC and female MC. In Male MC VN:s, most other males are seen as antagonists and villains. But even in female MC games males are usually jerks, assholes, creeps and rapists. Especially if the game is a corruption/humiliation game as so many female MC games are.
My main purpose with that text was to highlight that there are very few (for me) interesting male LI:s for female MC:s. So with female MC:s lesbian route is more interesting for me.
And there are actually quite a few games with decent male MC:s.
I see where you are coming from. However, personally, I find these things very uncomfortable in VN:s as well.
My preference is for the characters being believable and life-like. Someone relatable. And if there are no consequences the game quickly loses me because then the characters don't act in a believable way.
Also, I'm not looking for all MC:s being goody-two-shoes (or other male characters for that matter). That would also not be very believable. Everyone has flaws. I'm saying that someone whose main trait is being a creep and a jerk is rather boring.
Sure, people have all sorts of fantasies. And I'm not trying to shame anyone for their fantasies. I just called out how I see things.
Yeah, parent/child incest is something I find rather creepy by default, mostly because of the dependence of the child on their parent. However, this game overcomes that because both Michelle and Amelia are so comfortable with each other. Their love for each other feels completely natural. With that said, Michelle needs to be very careful to make sure that there is always a way out for Amelia if she ever feels like breaking up with her mother.
Yeah, Bad Memories MC is to an extent both creepy and a jerk (both female and male MC). And I have mixed feelings about the game. At the same time I feel MC is slowly learning to be a better person when remembering her past.
