People have been looking at the questlog for over a year with the same result... the answer !!! Wait for the next update! It could come tomorrow or never, it's hard to tell with a dev who has never kept his word

Friday FarmGuy mentioned on discord he was doing final playtesting. That doesn't have me leaping for joy; in late april there were just a few scenes to render and then playtest.

I don't think FarmGuy is trying to milk (pun not intended). I think he is continuously optimistic about how much work is left and forgets that the final 10% of shipping takes a far bigger chunk of the time. Each patch has gotten substantially bigger because he gets excited about a story idea or game mechanism and adds it and the kitchen sink to the mix. That makes shipping almost impossible as the scope grows faster than the pace of development.

The patreon update another poster mentioned wasn't actually that recent; it was late june when things were apparently days away. I've stepped back from support because FarmGuy can't keep his commitments. He recently declined to speculate on timelines, which I actually saw as a positive development. He seems to have recognized consistently over-promising things that were simply not possible. I don't think he was lying; I think he genuinly thought he could deliver and was deeply mistaken.

I'll support again once there is a release. I'll consider long term support if he focuses on choosing a specific, narrow scope and then relentlessly ships just that.
I think the guy has taken a step back to realize that with what he was doing before was just not only inefficient, but impractical for delivery. A lot of games get derailed by over ambition and an overly expansive scope. The sooner a developer can realize that their current route to development is not sustainable, the better chances they have when it comes to doing it in a manner that will reach launch day sooner. I hope the developer realizes what the game can do and delivers it in spades.

Well said. Nearly all of my favorite games share one of two things in common. Either the dev took things slowly and steadily from the get go and focused on a strong foundation first before adding in lots of other content, or they realized their mistake, went back and fixed it so that it did, then moved forward again.

Dev said to wait to play this game until the new release comes out because of added content early in the game.

I have always fully intended to start over in part because I expected and hoped for that. Also, because its been so long I'm sure I've forgetten a lot as well.

It's been too long and I've forgotten quite a bit of the story outside of a handful of scenes that stuck with me. Hopefully it will be better paced than the build we have available at the moment. Especially since this coming update was focused on a lot of content alongside a huge revamp of the system. I hope the growing will be more fun this time around and the questlines a bit less guess work/brute forcing.

Certainly hope so. I do not mind at all having a bit of grind in a game where you need to work to get where you want to be. Its to totally fine. But it has to make sense, and it has to be simple to manage, and to this point the farming absolutely has not at all. Fingers crossed that the whole UI is a lot more straightforward and its more clear what you're supposed to do. It also shouldn't be so easy to fail, rather if you don't grow enough, it should just take longer to progress.

Its a game about manipulating people so you can milk them... Here I sit, waiting to get bilked milked

jk, this is just more justification of reasoning to wait for a finished product to buy and not support an artist with a monthly stipend

Hi guys, I just found this game and I like it. The girls are real cuties and the story is very good. I'm hoping since the family is needing money, the older sister gets a job serving drinks in a bar in town and has to wear a sexy outfit and has to deal with groping and being molested by the drunks. She finds out that she can get bigger tips by selling "special attention". Brother shows up at times to make sure she is safe and he gets to watch her work, selling those specials. How's that for an idea?

Can we get an abandoned tag here already?
I don't care about dev's empty promises, he said three times the update would be out by now and there's NOTHING.

Dude's a moron.

You could have just reported the game if you wanted that, the game had way more than 3 months of inactivity on patreon. Could have been tagged months ago, but no one said anything.

Now the dev posted a devlog a couple months ago, so I'm not sure if the mods can retroactively apply the tag for the previous period of incativity.

Regardless, the tag doesnt mean anything, just creates confusion for those who dont understand how it works or where it comes from.

The abandoned tag cannot be applied if there are ongoing updates and progress. The last update was 1 month ago. I am reminded of what's going on with another game that hasn't had a new playable build in over a year but isn't abandoned because the developer has their own website in which they consistently update and run polls on content for the game or commissions. If a game were to be abandoned or put on-hold, we'd know if and or why. This is not the case for something like The Manor for example, in which it had become evident in which progress or updates were non-existent and his audience is quite strained in terms of loyalty. This game however, it seems like the next patch is just about ready for those who support the developers directly but we won't be seeing it until that update is made public. I could see it being ready by September or October at the latest. Especially since much of the early game has apparently been drastically revamped.

...If a game were to be abandoned or put on-hold, we'd know if and or why...
False. For on-hold sure, it requires a specific statement from the dev. Abandoned tag is just website rules. Most of them get placed for either:

1 - dev didnt post anything on the billing website for over 3 months
2 - there hasn't been a new build release in over 18 months.

This is why I say the tag causes more confusion than anything. People don't know how it works and assume whoever placed it there has information on what's going on with development when they don't. Unless dev specifically states the game is abandoned, 99% of cases, the tag is placed from the rules above.

The last post from this dev was made less than 3 months ago, but before that he spent several months without saying anything. This game was supposed to have had the tag for months now, but no one reported. Mods don't go around checking every single thread. There's no automation for this. If no one says anything, it goes unnoticed.

Its been 16 months since last update, just 2 more to go before the abandoned tag goes up.

3. Prefixes

  1. On-hold: used for a developer who temporarily stops working on a game for whatever reason and makes a clear public statement about it, if they do not resume work in 6 months the prefix is changed to Abandoned.
  2. Abandoned: used in the following cases:
    • The developer states that the development has been permanently suspended.
    • After 3 months of inactivity from the developer's public creator/crowdfunding accounts (Patreon, SS, etc), we will resolve special circumstances or scenarios on a case-by-case basis (no creator accounts, creators developing for free, Patreon accounts under review/ban).
    • No game update has been released for an abnormally long period of time (>18 months).
    • Game threads that are marked On-hold for over 6 months with no game update.
    • Note: this prefix is only removed upon the release of a new update for purchase/download.
