VN - Ren'Py - Completed - My New Family [Christmas Special] [Killer7]

This would have gotten a much higher rating, except for a couple minor issues.
1: Meet your new (half-sibling / what ever BS name the dev used when they got slapped with patreons your not allowed to do incest hammer.) then within what was it 2 days, your sleeping with her.
2: Your other sister, after you start flirting with her.... Makes you wait something like 45 days before you can even feel her up, it's I love you, GO AWAY SCUM OF THE EARTH.... Then she loves you, then she hates you, then she wants to hold your hand but it's just too much and she can't handle it, then you see her ankle and she almost dies from embarrassment, then she catches you fucking your sister, her older sister..... And is so stupid she can't figure out that it's wrong by societies standards.
3: The aunt.... Yeah she's like a combination of your older half sister, and the mom's boss.
4: The mom's boss..... Seriously dev. "Come with me, and we can talk. You two leave the house and when your alone. boss "Show me your cock NOW."..... That's followed by the worst writing for a char I've seen in a while. She is sexually assaulting the main char, then threatening him when girls ask him out on dates..... Someone just needs to put a very large hole between her eyes and then the game will be half as stupid as it currently is.
5: The way everything just drags on, and gets more and more stupid as it progresses, up to and including your grand mother hiring assassin's or something to go kill your dad, still not sure since I just fast forwarded through the entire vacation scene because it was that bad.....

If you want something that has some pretty renders, and has a LOT of content sure give it a try.

If you want something with substance, well written char's, oh and a game where ever mature female does not have ZZZZZ sized tit's then just go ahead and avoid this project.

This one had the potential to be something really great. Unfortunately, it's not. This game can be summed up with one word. Boring. The text is dull, the story is dull, and even the domination scenes are dull.

This game has the same issues as Ecchi Sensei.

This game has too many characters and they are pretty much all instantly in love with the MC. The MC is pretty much a Gary Stu. He's too nice to the point he's dull. He resolves every situation with his niceness (dull)

The dialogue is cluttered with the MC throwing cheesy lines left and right. It's so often that I would be really surprised that anyone actually reads it all and doesn't just start skipping everything.

The MC has no flaws, (well, I personally think this MC's chronic niceness is a flaw, though) and the result is boring. In reality, you can't solve every issue by staying calm or being nice.

Any drama that this game has is too mild to be interesting. The girls accept being in a harem far too easily and pretty much encourage it.

This game is just too far from reality to do the job it's meant to do, for me at least.

This game started off good but became very repetitive rather quickly. At some point of the game it just felt like I was just transitioning between sex scenes and skipping text.

Now this may be my own preference but this game felt too bland for me. There is drama in this game but the conflicts get resolved rather quickly and a lot of these resolutions seem silly to me especially the change in behaviour of the bully.

Another reason this game felt bland is the way girls fall for the MC. It's basically love at first sight for the girls because the MC was nice to them once and didn't hurt them. Relationship development is pretty boring and predictable.

A lot of content is available as of v0.14 but to me it was mostly text to skip through. At some point of the game, it became very repetitive. The MC wakes up, takes a shower with the gingers, has a talk on the couch, watches TV, and then an event starts when he gets a message on his phone. There are a lot of girls but I felt like it was a detriment rather than a strength. Some girls feel pointless and disconnected to the main "story" and are just there to have sex with when you have nothing else to do.

TLDR: If you want a relaxing, wholesome game with incest, harem, and even pregnancy thrown in the mix, this might be for you. However it felt bland and repetitive for me.

Love the Story line. It just made me wanting to keep going, I just had to keep going to see what was going to happen next. when playing this VN you have to keep a open mind. Make sure to read the tags and check the Genre Spoiler. This story is not for everyone.

I can't name it a game because there isn't that much to do but as a story and story telling or characters development this is one of the best stories I ever have red in my life

If you have not found this game you are missing out on a wonderful story full of love and romance. This is bar far one of the best incest harem games I have ever played. The story is so full of emotion and joy which is very refreshing from other games. I like that there isnt this constant dram like a weight on your chest the entire game. Its light and fun and super enjoyable. Even has pregnancy that I love mixed in my harem incest game. There are no other males to even worry about. I highly highly recommend this game. The story will grip you and leave you wanting more.

This is one of the most wholesame games i have ever played. Great characters with amazing storyline. Each character has great development and it each to their own. Can't wait to see more of this game Killer7. Keep up the good work man.

That said:
The good:
Nice art and for once the MC is not a creep that goes raping or molesting around, and that's a plus.
The Bad:
Evertything else.
First, in this game there is no interaction or real decision. You are like a train, on a preordined path where your decision are irrelevant unless you're very dumb. Your choices are always like "be good" and "be a dick". Now a good guy is nice, but here every woman wants to jump on your dick after so little interaction it soon gets annoying. I don't like grinding in sex games but this is porn-level plot. EG: "Miss, i'm here to repair you dishwasher" "Oh, my. That's not the only wet thing. Come to my bedroom, please."
There is no pleasure in conquest, just boredom for enduring constant flows of sweet talk. So sweet that it first gives you cavities, then diabetes and then you drown in sugar. I mean, WTF! How can there not possibly be a single nice guy in the whole universe the game is set in? Women love you just because you don't beat them up. Imo that's lazy writing.

I liked visuals and how much effort author put in this game. This long story didn't appeal to me, but some people will enjoy it.
Despite that I really, really, REALLY hate this game. I find it extremely boring. There's no challenge - your choices often boil down to choosing between "I love your dress!" and "Your dress is alright.". And either you pick the top option and get the girl or you can forget about it. I hate how intertwined those stories are; you can't focus just on mom while ignoring her daughters for example, because then you won't get any scenes at all. Or if you want your boss to be more dominant, then you'll get 2-3 scenes and that's it, simply because author didn't like this choice enough. If you want to just, you know, PLAY around in this game and explore your options, then quickly you'll be punished for that with dead ends for not choosing the option he wants you to choose. Game very quickly boils down to mindless clicking, sometimes interrupted with similarly mindless "choice", while waiting for the next sex scene. Gameplay is just badly designed. I'm not saying all [vn]s are bad! They can be done very well and be very enjoyable. It's just this one isn't like that. Author should either turn it into an kinetic novel or focus more on different story lines.

To summarize, the game really took off in the beginning , then went bland in the middle and climbed back to the top again.
Pros :
1) Good story..Well implemented and kept simple. Just how i like
2) Scenes well animated..not just a 2 picture loop.
3) The girls seem likeable

That being said, the Cons:
1) Too many unwanted characters.. Which prolong the game
2) Bad camera angles during sex scenes.. Most scenes have the camera behind the players back blocking the girls view.
3) No uniformity in the individual story progression.. For example ,Sandra's story just took off, Lucy's story was stagnating so bad to the point I lost interest.

THE GOOD: has great emotion in its story by the time i got close to the end of the current version i didnt even care much about the sex scenes. It had a very good amount of playtime keeping your interested in playing.

THE MEH: the sex scenes became bland quick (suggest adding opion to switch poses and speed) . the facial features of most of the girls could use some touching up alot of them remind me of the game IMVU.

THE BAD: nothing as of yet

FINAL WORDS: all around good VN made me feel like i was reading a pick your own adventure book and with some more polish and time this game can become something even more amazing

Decided to review, so here I go....

The Good.
- Nice guy MC, always nice to have a nice guy MC. He doesn't do any of the creeper MC stuff, which is a great change considering almost all incest MC's are creepers.
- Several of the girls are very sweet and likable. One of them is a cat-girl, which I think is adorable.
- A lot of content, I haven't replayed in a while but I'd imagine it'd be a few hours at least.
- Nice renders.
- Reliable update times and size. Not many devs manage to have monthly releases with the quantity of content this one does, quite impressive.

The Bad
- I feel like this game fell into the trap a lot of harem games fall into, too many girls and repetitiveness, and I think it advances too quickly. I'll talk about each below.
- Too many girls: The game is called "My New Family" but there are simply too many characters outside of the main cast to really focus on that family as much as they should be (Main cast I consider to be MC's 2 original sisters and mom) and a few of those characters just seem to be rather pointless. These characters often have events which seem to be sort of random, in-between the main-casts stories. It's got a " On to the next one" vibe to it., you do one girls event, and then you go to another girls totally un-related event.
- Repetitiveness: This game is a long game, but you do a lot of the same thing over and over again. Wake up, go to bed, eat breakfast, watch TV etc. A lot of filler events, which is fine, but I'd be nice if it weren't so....predictable?
- Advances too quickly: I think a big part of this is because of issue #1, but this game seems complete already. MC has already built a harem of basically every girl in the game, they all love him and everything is going great. Pretty much all the conflicts are resolved quickly. This is a character driven game, but in order to have that you need good character development, but a combination of conflicts resolving so fast + the number of LI's, character development advances quickly. Some of the girls have longer CD, but a lot of them have little or hardly none.

TLDR: It's a solid romantic harem game, but falls into a lot of the traps of harem games, still enjoyable though. 4 stars.

Really sweet game for a game where you fuck pretty much every woman in town. There are choices but i'm not sure why you would choose not to fuck all the girls. The scenes can be hit or miss but there are some really great ones. This is the feel good porn game, Wrote this review about 2 years ago and since that time a game that had the potential to be arousing and fun has turned into a boring slog with the most painfully unarousing and vanilla sex imaginable. Any attempts to spice up the game, are met with shrill complaints by the game's fans. For a game with no real compelling narrative and a lack of any real tension, the sex and relationships need to be interesting and engaging, they no longer are in this game so i would no longer recommend it, though there are some good scenes here and there if you feel like muddling through.

This game is huge!

There is so much content, the story is very long and well written! The characters (though not all) have personality and are fun. I do love the main girls and I enjoy the interactions and the choices!

If you love incest romance stories, than this is for you! The animations are nice and the buildup is hot!
Just the nice-guy main character is a weakness, for the most time....

Best game ever... i dont know what i will do when story eventually end. Its bring to me so much feels and helping me tough times - im not even kidding! Every girl is unique in some way and story between them and mc is connected. I wish all the best for dev and just want to say thank you for such wonderful game!

Although the Dev does put out a lot of content, I am sorry this story/game is just Boring.
The Graphic renders are cheap looking and repetitive and so is the story. Many have already commented with the same opinion of course.

The sex scenes are some of the worst i have ever seen, they are so quick and lacking in any quality renders or animations. Animations especially, that is what really makes or breaks a story/game. it's a Put it in and 3 or 4 motion's later BAM all done sex is over, BORING and UNIMAGINATIVE.
The only reason that this story/game does have the rating it has is because of the amount of content that is put out. But that doesn't make it good.

If the Dev put effort into making better renders and animations, and making the writing and story more interesting, it would deserve the rating, but that really isn't the case is it.

It feels more like he is just throwing cheap stuff together and expecting it to come out as higher quality.

I started playing this game when it first was released to the public, and it has a rich and interesting story so far, i find myself keep redoing the story line multiple times because it is that good, Also the character models are really good as well. One thing i would like to note is that i have seen a couple of typo error's but that doesn't bother me seeing has this is still in development, and that is to be expected keep up the great work "Killer7" i am in love with this game <3

I love everything about this game. The characters are all really great, I like the effort being put into the story as it's quite lengthy so far. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all comes together.

I just can't get enough of this game. My New Family has what every AVN game should have. Good story, renders, animations and all characters are so lovable. Updates are fast and the added content great. I see the developer is nice and active too. Redheads are my weakness but here I get to have 3. Damn I feel good

Not really a con for me is that some models have way to big tits for my taste (I like them skinny and redhead ). Anyway, I highly recommend this game to anyone who love AVN. If you really enjoy the game, don't forget to support the developer if you can (I just did).

A small preface first: I'd give this 3,5 stars if I could, but I'd say 3 seems fair and it could easily be a 4 if you're really into the art style, so 3/5 for me means decent fun, but nothing too out of the ordinary.

One think I like about this VN is that it has no major drama, nobody is sick, nobody is dying, nobody that really matters is dead, you just have a nice little, albeit ridiculously convenient story about a man who finds his lost family and the love he always desired. The characters are likeable and unique for the most part, some seem a bit more similar than others, but for me it's still ok. The grandmother is a bit of an oddball and for the most part I'm not really sure what to make of her.

One thing that sadly found its way into this game is repetitiveness, the day almost always starts with the gingers and a shower and it almost always ends with some pillowtalk between Lucy and the MC. I don't mind that in general, but it can become a bit boring even if you like that kind of thing. Another thing that seems a bit much and I can't really believe that I say that in a porn game is sex, it feels like it's basically sex scene after sex scene after sex scene with bit of story in between, mostly because there are just so many characters that the MC is involved with, but you can overdo it a bit, even if you mean well and want to deliver something good.

The last thing I want to mention is that at this point (0.13) it seems to offer a lot of content. The settings for the scenes seem rather simple compared to some other games, but this way you can get more done in a shorter amount of time and this is a good thing in my books.
I haven't read the thread, so maybe I missed a few things, but I think it would improve the game a bit more if the player had an idea of where the game is supposed to go, a few landmarks if you want. For me it feels like I'm just going with the flow, but I have no idea if the game will be done in 2 updates or in 20.
