This update seemed to me a door to thousands of possibilities. Each Mafia has various girls and from what has been shown, as we gain reputation we may have several girls in those rooms to the right of the HQ.
If you dislike it, and if you're a patreon, bring it up with BoN. Explain why you dislike the change in a rational way and maybe he'll take notice.
That is one nitpick about the 1.4 update that I think I understated. BoN mentioned making a graphic change and unless I'm off base, it seems like it was changing the lighting and renders. The new look makes everyone look REALLY shiny. Like, some girls look like they're entire bodies are sweating or even glowing. It's comparable to the shine you have when something's in plastic wrap. Looks weird and out of place and I thought the renders before were just fine.
Now, it wasn't a huge deal this update. The scenes with Jacqueline, Mila, the Asian girl (who's name I can't remember) and Kayla all looked fine. The lighting and shine wasn't noticeable. But all the Pussy Fight scenes EVERYONE looked like they were shiny and slimy. Tyna and Amaria's scenes were the same, though not as bad. Amaria's scenes had a problem with being too dark though and hard to see her profile in certain sex positions. Bad lighting there. Though I suppose her scenes wer at night so it kinda made sense there...
I dunno, maybe I'm alone in this observation/complaint. Does anyone else here feel similar or at least a little off put? I mean, the models and scenes are still great but I do prefer the previous render style if I had to choose. I'm just a bit worried for when scenes with my favorite girls come out (Shasha, Laura, Amy) and they all look oddly/weirdly shiny. Anyone else thing the render style could use a touch up/regression/return to previous form?

I 100% agree with you and the last person. I'm not going to sugar coat it the CG is completely awful now. You really nailed it the lighting is just bad and the super ultra plastic wrap look is just off putting. Take for example the image with Tyna when you bring her wine after you win the first fight. The lighting is so dark you can barely make out her features yet the little light that is in the room bounces off her skin like it is a light source.
The models themselves are fine. The materials on them and the lighting is just God Awful. Honestly this isn't new, his art work has been going down hill since version 0.9. The first example is Rachel's mom with the Beggar. The light is entirely too bright and the shadows are way too hard. In that same version the Web cam pictures of Rachel and Laura both have bad lighting. Laura was re skinned using new material in that version and her eyes look bad. Margareth was the worst example of a fat girl I've ever seen and completely not up to par with BON's work. And finally Laura's night time mission also suffers bad lighting.
From 0.9 on there are several examples of bad lighting and/or materials:
1.0 - All of the Nadine home visit pics, that one pic of Jet standing next to Chloe where she looks 10 feet tall
1.1 - Every Picture of Pam at home, Rachel's anal scene in the bathroom
1.2 - The Pam and Nadine threesome, Jason the greased up gay guy
1.3 - Most of Aunt Maggie's home pictures, Most of the new webcam pics, almost all of the prostitution pics
1.4 - Pretty much all of it
I've been a die hard fan of this game since I started playing it but honestly it is getting to the point where I don't even want to play it any more. It feels like work now instead of fun.

Yeah. Those scenes you've mentioned thinking back DID kinda have that glossy look to them. Not nearly to the degree as the girls in this update though. Shiny gloss everywhere.
But even still a majority of the scenes are perfectly fine prior with only the minority being hit or miss. I'll wait until the next update in 1.5 to see if it stays as over the top as it looked in this update. The Pussy Fights WERE in a stadium arena with lots of lights so I suppose the effect can be excused to a degree. However, if Beth and Daisy wind up looking like glossy figures I'm gonna be a bit put off.
Some good examples of fine renders in my opinion would be Carol, Ms. Taylor, Dory (Jason Mom), Claire (Phil Mom), Jet, Sarah, Maria, and the 3some scene with Marge and Morgan's mom. Lighting and model shades were fine even if the rooms were well lit. Every girl had a clear profile and didn't shine like the sun. Didn't look like a headlight was pointed at them.
I implore any patreons in this forum if they are at all dissatisfied with the recent renders let BoN know. Just, y'know, be courteous about it. Just politely inform him of your opinion and maybe he'll make a note of it for future reference. Feedback is how games improve after all.
Of course, as a non-patreon I'm in really no position to complain. Not that I mean to. The game is still my favorite 3D adult game on this site, I just hope it doesn't change in a way that makes the cons outweigh the pros.

just wanted to give a huge thanks for this post and unpacker, my game hasn't run this smooth since like v.6Unpack that huge (3GBs) .exe -file with the attached unpacker.
Delete all content from your MNL 1.4. -folder EXCEPT %DEFAULT FOLDER% -folder.
Move content of %DEFAULT FOLDER% -folder to MNL 1.4. -folder.
Move your Save-folder to MNL 1.4. -folder.
Delete empty %DEFAULT FOLDER% -folder.
Enjoy Magnificently faster MNL.
also still wondering if anyone found the saw to modify the school toilet?

The only thing the Chinese Mafia could give that would make me even consider choosing this path would be Lucy since she works for Chang. Maybe if Mike works hard enough and get high enough in there he could convince chang to spare his mother or give him his mother as a gift.
Otherwise while I will run my playthrough with this path just to see what it gives I won't do anything else with it.

There's no need to set the variables with saveedit,after you finish the Training in the HQ on one of the Mafias you can just click the guy with the blue clothes near Tyna,he'll set Tyna's variable to 17 and you can start the Pussy Fights

This is a glitch i found as well! If you enter from the North entrance instead of the west entrance it should play without freezing?

uhm a bit question here ..when i go to web pornplaybb , its said fix and update and have start adv w/ daisy ,special event at mechanic job and hospital and threesome w/ amaria and tyna ..is this 1.4 have it too or its not with the pornplaybb web ..in OP there is not mentioned that , im really curious its same or not.. thx in advance

i do exactly like the walkthrough said, but for some reason, i can not get the two scientists in the far upper right room to talk or move or do anything for that matter, one of them i can actually walk through, and that happens with 1.4 and the previous version, that's why i asked for the variable for it...
no matter how many times i talk to scientist in far upper left room and come back to the other two, or try the coffee machine, or leave the floor and come back, nothing happens ....
and to make things worse, my earlier save before started the maggie quest, is bugged too, when it reaches the point where they go to get the car, the game just freezes...
so, lil help ??
