Having read the comments here, and since my saves for this release are not working, I do not think I will waste my time starting over again.
Based on the other players comments, the end is complete bullshit, and not worth worrying about playing it.
Yup, unless you're interested in ONLY Molly, you're gonna be sad lol

Well congrats on ending your first game. :) Well we did know that Nikki was not an end love interest, though I still think it is a pity you have condemned Nikki to a live of unhappiness with someone that at best is second best in her mind and she will always know that. (Well that ending was not really convincing concerning marc, who does not really suit her, especially since you wrote Nikki as someone that likely was already in love with her brother at age 12 and before and has been fighting against that for years and years before crossing the line with him):p

Aside from that thanks, game did have a lot of humor and great moments even if I do feel sorry for Nikki at the end of the game whether you chose for her to be happy or not. Neither outcome seems to me one where she could be really happy long term.

Edit: i guess that is why many have a sad taste in the end with the game, though Molly is a very nice girl and Tales might be happy after, loads of us care more for Nikki and her endings are sad, even if you probably think you gave her one happy ending ...... :p

Well, I expected a lot of hate from this “community” for the game endings, so I’m happy that you guys didn’t disappoint me there, even though I’ve clearly disappointed so many of you. The amount of hate you’ve given me and this game has exceeded even my expectations! I go back and forth on whether or not to respond to criticism here. Sometimes it feels like pissing in the wind, and other times it can be productive.

I told everyone probably hundreds of times that there wasn’t going to be a Nikki and Taylor romantic ending, yet it doesn’t seem like a lot of people wanted to listen. And now you guys are so upset that what I said was going to happen, happened. I even told the people looking for that to add the game to their ignore list and don’t play the last chapter because it wasn’t going to happen. Now these people are here shitting on my game. Again. And leaving bad reviews. Again. There are probably hundreds of games out there where the main character ends up with the “childhood friend” or “roommate” and I wanted to make something different, where the childhood friend isn’t the end goal, but simply helps the main character along his journey. Sure, I could have caved to the pressure of these voices and added that in, but then I’d be lying to those that supported me BECAUSE of this.

This game has always been about Taylor, Molly, and Nikki’s relationships. I don’t know what else I could have done to telegraph that more, other than coming out and saying it. But even if I did, I question what percentage of people would actually listen to that.

Spoilers ahead on why the game ends the why it does with each character…

Cory was never going to be a good happy ending for Taylor. They are too different and Taylor lies to her constantly, saying what he thinks she wants to hear. That is not the basis of a good relationship.

Chelsea was more attracted to Cory than she was Taylor. She saw Taylor as a way to get closer to Cory. She knows the Cory likes Taylor and thinks that maybe bringing the three of them together will make her and Cory closer. If Taylor has a threesome with C&C, that leads to C&C opening up their relationship, getting a lot close, and ultimately winning a Gold Medal in the Olympics because they are now more in sync than they’ve ever been.

Skylar may have been a decent option, but her and Taylor barely spent any time together, actually getting to know each other. It was always they run into each other and hook up. Not a bad thing, but certainly not enough base a “they lived happily ever after” scenario on.

Sarah is in a similar boat that Skylar is. She’s gorgeous and there could have maybe potential there, but they’ve had even less interaction than Taylor and Skylar. Giving them an ending based on their interactions would make less sense than Molly pulling an easel out of her purse.

Mrs. Sollain was never going to happen long term. Taylor and her are at two very different points in their lives. Besides, Taylor doesn’t even know her first name!

Ashley is in jail and conjugal visits are hard. Besides, Taylor could never be a vegan and that’s what Ashley was looking for.

So why are these characters included if a happy ending isn’t possible with each of them? First and foremost, BECAUSE THIS IS A PORN GAME! Secondly, each of these characters help Taylor get out of his shell and gain confidence. Something that is ultimately necessary to have a good relationship with anyone in the end. The only one he ever had a real, complete connection with was Molly.

It’s sad that it seems so many people enjoyed the journey of this game, but hated the destination, whereas I feel like I wrote the most logical conclusion and the one that I’ve been moving toward the whole time. Clearly there is a disconnect happening somewhere. At any rate, I’m happy there’s a spirited debate and happy people cared enough about the story and characters to take the time to tell me how stupid/lazy I am. Maybe next time, I’ll make a game that follows the formula that so many other games do. I don’t know yet. Please just keep the discussion peaceful and know that, even though some didn’t like it, I did think long and hard about the endings that were ultimately included in the game.

Best,
Sumodeine
Look dude it's your game and you have every right to make it every which way you please. What's really bugging me is your childish attitude of ,,everyone who doesn't like what i made hates me''.

Criticism and stating one's opinion does not equal hate.

For reference:

Me hating you means insulting threatening abusing or harassing you or if given the opportunity going over to your house biting the everliving shit out of you(or worse) and laughing at your suffering in response to real or imagined offences on your past against me.

Me starting my opinion is telling you,,Look i think you were being stubborn on the hole Nikki LI thing if you were so worried about ,,lying to those that supported me'' you could have easily asked about their opinion on the methar with a poll or aims for a more ambiguous ending if certain choices were made.

I just wish this was information the dev gave out in the beginning. At least the halfway house dev has said that there is only one love interest that the player can romance and have a good ending with. The rest are just flings. In this game the choices the mc has to date other girls lead nowhere and that is a disappointment. If the choices do not matter why are they there? Regardless of me not liking the endings the game offers at all, I will say that I did enjoy the early parts of the game. I was thinking that the game was a dating sim where a guy goes to college and along the way finds a girl of his liking. I hope the author looks at the feedback received not in a negative light but a way to improve and move forward with whatever his next game is about (just as long as he lets the players know who is and who isn't a love interest, so people don't feel like they wasted their time.)

I enjoyed the game very much, but the ending was a bit of a let down. At some point I thought Marc was just made-up as an excuse for Nikki and MC not getting romantically involved, I was hoping for a better Nikki ending. No romance needed, but it'd be fitting if Nikki ended up without a boyfriend because she couldn't resist temptations around her just like MC and turning out and Nikki and MC sticked together with their love-hate relationship. Just taking the occasional lover to their beds, sometimes alone, sometimes together as a threesome, that would've been a decent Nikki ending in my book. Felt that the dialogue was too guided by the developer for the player to make much in the way of decisions on his own. Still, like I said, I've enjoyed the game very much, I'd still give it an 8/10!

I've stayed quiet about this "controversy" because I (1) don't want to get into an online pissing match and (2) I don't want to give too much of what I'm planning away. HOWEVER, I do feel compelled to respond and put this issue to rest because it seems like a lot of people are getting the wrong idea. Your comment is simply not true. The main mission is NOT to win over the sister. I thought this was pretty clear about this with the dialog, but apparently some people missed this. So I want to repeat it: The main mission is not to win Nikki and never has been. Nikki will help Taylor get out of his shell. Nikki is a catalyst for the story, NOT the main story or end goal. They will have their fun together, but this is not a remake of Dreaming of Dana. I'm trying to make something that's a little bit different.

It's been made clear by the dev for over 2 years now that Nikki was never an option.

As entertaining as it is watching people compleyely miss the point, all this laughter is giving me a stitch and now my side hurts so I thought it would be easier to show that.

Then i'll point out how i've spent months telling people Nikki was never an option.

People argued with me over that, I giggled, lots.

I did find a song I feel fits though....

So, as expected, this ending is stirring up a hornets nest of criticism and rebukes of the way the story ends and I've got a lot of mixed feelings on it myself. On the one hand, I praise anyone who wants to tell a different kind of story and doesn't let anyone pressure them into changing their vision so congrats to Sumo on that, however, I can see how there are aspects of the ending that are disappointing given the events that preceded it, and I'm not just talking about Nikki.

Unlike others, I accepted that Taylor and Nikki woudn't end up together but throughout the story there did seem to be pretty clear breadcrumbs sprinkled about that indicated Nikki may have developed deeper feelings; like when she almost said "I love you" when they had sex the first time, or how she avoided telling him how she really felt on multiple occasions that even Taylor could tell she was hiding something, or even the fact that she initiated their sexual relationship which could be seen as just being promiscuous and open-minded but could also be seen as her seducing him in order to make him fall for her. At the very least I thought we might have had an unrequited love thing with Nikki admitting to having feelings for Taylor but he doesn't reciprocate, which would've been totally fine, but having them both admit to feeling absolutely nothing doesn't feel right given what's come before. Even some of the dialogue in that scene where they're hashing things out (if you've broken up with Molly) seems to suggest that Taylor wants something more with Nikki.

As for the Molly-sext-breakup part, it just felt like a really cheap way of getting Molly out of the picture for the "bad ending". For one thing, Taylor never bothers to check his phone afterwards to see who was it that sexted him which you think would be the first thing he did, but more importantly, no girl in this entire game has ever sexted him before so why exactly would they be doing it now? It's been months since he had contact with Corey or Skylar so it couldn't be either of them (I also don't think he ever got Skylar's number as they only ever met randomly), which just leaves Chelsea and Jessica as people who Taylor can have sex with within those 3 months after Ashley gets carted off to jail but, again, why would either of them sext him? It just doesn't seem to fit at all within this story except as an easy way to get rid of Molly and make you feel like shit for sleeping around.

Finally, I get how many of the girls that Taylor can and does hook-up with aren't exactly considered viable relationships given that he's not as close with them as he is with Molly and Nikki, but if the whole point of his journey and his sexual exploits with Nikki was to give him confidence and to help him get girls, why is that if you break up with Molly his life seems to go down the tubes? Why can't you end up having a relationship with another girl just because you fucked things up with Molly? Sure, he's still in college with his whole life ahead of him and good things could still happen, but having it end with him not getting any of the girls even for a short-term relationship seems like it's the antithesis of this story's purpose, unless the moral of the story is that you can have all the confidence in the world but don't fuck around indiscriminately.

Overall I feel like the ending doesn't quite match the build up, not because Taylor doesn't end up with Nikki, but because a lot of storylines, characters, and character development just kinda gets tossed by the wayside and certain things seem like they're done for expendiency rather than providing a properly satisfying conclusion.

Ah we have the right to different opinions and I knew it was not the devs intention they would end up together, still I had hoped for a better ending for Nikki as the two that were provided, which were both to me very sad for her and the kind that makes a person like her and how she was written live a long and very unfulfilling unhappy life. Now you may disagree with me. :p

Edit: Also to be honest I do agree a bit with holy Bacchus, the game does seem to have a bit too much of a moral message at the end also with Nikki marrying a confirmed religious nut. :p

Molly is cutie sweet and the ending is good ,at least not that bad hmm...but I do think there'd be more content plus a potential ending with skylar well in my consideration that'd make more sense plus getting plot more satisfying

Pretty much like everyone else already said, liked the journey hated the destination. A lot of buildup to a very lackluster payoff.

I get that its nice to have your idea and want to see it through, thats fair and totally within your right as the created of the game to do whatever you want... but I'm not going to lie. I like what I like, and when your vision doesn't match with what I am looking for in a game i'll just go else where. This "market" of adult porn games is so unbelievable saturated right now with really, really good games that if you go against the grain, and make what you want and not what the people want it may be tough to recover from it financially.

I don't know how many people are like me with this kind of thing, but I absolutely refuse to donate on patreon. Same reasons that I will not preorder a game, I want to pay for the finished product and not what it looks like halfways through. And this game is the reason I do that. I loved this game until the endings and found them incredibly lacking and therefor will not pay for it. Where games like Acting Lessons, DA, or Triangle I had no problem spending 20-30 bucks when they were finished. Endings like this make me not even want to try out the next game from this dev.

its his/her story, they are free to decide whatever the fuck they want with their book. its not a typical company surveyed product whose catered for the masses. its indie, and to be honest whoever said he's on indie business and proceed to do what mass pleasure company does - often failed as an indie company.

take it as their first product, let they mold the next product with evaluating mass reception. you're free to critize them as they were free to ignore your criticism.

Holy Bacchus you bring valid points but at the same time, you don't see the reason Taylor doesn't end with another girl in the bad ending.... The point of that one is that he's been thinking with his dick and lying to get laid... sure we all do that, but Tales became notorious on campus... he was known for being involved with a murder and later people started talking about him being a cheater. Girls in that ending started avoiding him like the plague, not even Skylar the cam girl wanted to date a cheater even though she was his accomplice.
Keep being reasonable

True, still that does not mean that I would not have the right as someone who has supported the development of the game and I have no regrets about that since enjoyed most of the game, to give my opinion that the provided endings left me with a sad feeling overall instead of with a good feeling. This even though I was well aware Nikki and Taylor would not end up in a relation.

Did you even read my comment?

I clearly stated ,,it's your game and you have every right to make it every which way you please''.

It's his attitude of calling other people opinions and criticism hate which is bugging me.
