Well, I expected a lot of hate from this “community” for the game endings, so I’m happy that you guys didn’t disappoint me there, even though I’ve clearly disappointed so many of you. The amount of hate you’ve given me and this game has exceeded even my expectations! I go back and forth on whether or not to respond to criticism here. Sometimes it feels like pissing in the wind, and other times it can be productive.
I told everyone probably hundreds of times that there wasn’t going to be a Nikki and Taylor romantic ending, yet it doesn’t seem like a lot of people wanted to listen. And now you guys are so upset that what I said was going to happen, happened. I even told the people looking for that to add the game to their ignore list and don’t play the last chapter because it wasn’t going to happen. Now these people are here shitting on my game. Again. And leaving bad reviews. Again. There are probably hundreds of games out there where the main character ends up with the “childhood friend” or “roommate” and I wanted to make something different, where the childhood friend isn’t the end goal, but simply helps the main character along his journey. Sure, I could have caved to the pressure of these voices and added that in, but then I’d be lying to those that supported me BECAUSE of this.
This game has always been about Taylor, Molly, and Nikki’s relationships. I don’t know what else I could have done to telegraph that more, other than coming out and saying it. But even if I did, I question what percentage of people would actually listen to that.
Spoilers ahead on why the game ends the why it does with each character…
Cory was never going to be a good happy ending for Taylor. They are too different and Taylor lies to her constantly, saying what he thinks she wants to hear. That is not the basis of a good relationship.
Chelsea was more attracted to Cory than she was Taylor. She saw Taylor as a way to get closer to Cory. She knows the Cory likes Taylor and thinks that maybe bringing the three of them together will make her and Cory closer. If Taylor has a threesome with C&C, that leads to C&C opening up their relationship, getting a lot close, and ultimately winning a Gold Medal in the Olympics because they are now more in sync than they’ve ever been.
Skylar may have been a decent option, but her and Taylor barely spent any time together, actually getting to know each other. It was always they run into each other and hook up. Not a bad thing, but certainly not enough base a “they lived happily ever after” scenario on.
Sarah is in a similar boat that Skylar is. She’s gorgeous and there could have maybe potential there, but they’ve had even less interaction than Taylor and Skylar. Giving them an ending based on their interactions would make less sense than Molly pulling an easel out of her purse.
Mrs. Sollain was never going to happen long term. Taylor and her are at two very different points in their lives. Besides, Taylor doesn’t even know her first name!
Ashley is in jail and conjugal visits are hard. Besides, Taylor could never be a vegan and that’s what Ashley was looking for.
So why are these characters included if a happy ending isn’t possible with each of them? First and foremost, BECAUSE THIS IS A PORN GAME! Secondly, each of these characters help Taylor get out of his shell and gain confidence. Something that is ultimately necessary to have a good relationship with anyone in the end. The only one he ever had a real, complete connection with was Molly.
It’s sad that it seems so many people enjoyed the journey of this game, but hated the destination, whereas I feel like I wrote the most logical conclusion and the one that I’ve been moving toward the whole time. Clearly there is a disconnect happening somewhere. At any rate, I’m happy there’s a spirited debate and happy people cared enough about the story and characters to take the time to tell me how stupid/lazy I am. Maybe next time, I’ll make a game that follows the formula that so many other games do. I don’t know yet. Please just keep the discussion peaceful and know that, even though some didn’t like it, I did think long and hard about the endings that were ultimately included in the game.
Best,
Sumodeine
