Pretty much like everyone else already said, liked the journey hated the destination. A lot of buildup to a very lackluster payoff.

I get that its nice to have your idea and want to see it through, thats fair and totally within your right as the created of the game to do whatever you want... but I'm not going to lie. I like what I like, and when your vision doesn't match with what I am looking for in a game i'll just go else where. This "market" of adult porn games is so unbelievable saturated right now with really, really good games that if you go against the grain, and make what you want and not what the people want it may be tough to recover from it financially.

I don't know how many people are like me with this kind of thing, but I absolutely refuse to donate on patreon. Same reasons that I will not preorder a game, I want to pay for the finished product and not what it looks like halfways through. And this game is the reason I do that. I loved this game until the endings and found them incredibly lacking and therefor will not pay for it. Where games like Acting Lessons, DA, or Triangle I had no problem spending 20-30 bucks when they were finished. Endings like this make me not even want to try out the next game from this dev.
Wait! Did you just bring Acting Lessons as a case of developers listening to "suggestions" . Ok.....

Was hoping for a Skylar ending. Still remembered a game where the ending was a lesbo who had a threesome with MC and his girl stole his girl and kicked you out, now that was some good sad ending.
u mean in ToML an ending where sweet Ann left for that fitness chick lol but if u play cards rite mc could build a mini harem:sneaky:whatever Ann is sweet and fucking sexy

Holy Bacchus you bring valid points but at the same time, you don't see the reason Taylor doesn't end with another girl in the bad ending.... The point of that one is that he's been thinking with his dick and lying to get laid... sure we all do that, but Tales became notorious on campus... he was known for being involved with a murder and later people started talking about him being a cheater. Girls in that ending started avoiding him like the plague, not even Skylar the cam girl wanted to date a cheater even though she was his accomplice.
Keep being reasonable
Sure, there's a moral lesson there, but come on. Aside from this being a porn game where guys who sleep around still end up getting with at least one girl at the end because it's all about fantasy wish fulfillment, there are loads of guys out there in the real world who do this and still end up on top; assholes who get reputations for sleeping around still have girls falling all over them, sexual assaulters get off scott-free because they're powerful and connected, and serial adulterers become world leaders. They're not good people, but the fact remains that you can be someone who sleeps around and uses women and still have good things happen to you whether you're a total d-bag or an affable yutz like Taylor.

Plus, the whole "he gains a reputation as a cheat and women avoid him" thing is, to me, another one of those expediency-over-satisfactory parts of the story that seems to undo a lot of what this story was about.

Dev did listen to all our suggestions.

I remmeber people asking for story time around a nice fire.
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire.
Cuddle up, watching a romantic movie infront of a nice hot fire.
Bonfire Night special.
Open pit BBQ.

I also remember someone saying "those 2 girls aren't attractive enough, they need to be made hotter".

Dev put them all together.

Also with games like this that are developped in episode you are basically forced to go after every girl or you will be blueballed for months, when it is not you girls turn to get some affection that month. :p I do agree with your objections though endings seemed a bit to morally right ..... besides my opinion they were also pretty sad except one ending for Taylor and Molly where I still felt sad and sorry for Nikki.

Entitled? If devs don't budge on some things to make patrons happy then they will stop supporting them after all not doing what the person paying them wants but expecting to keep getting their money is so far beyond entitled....
Since when does donating also include an entitlement to demand the dev change their story to what you want? A donation is simply a means to help a dev offset the costs incurred in creating a game. What happens if every person donating wants different and/or conflicting changes to a story?

If someone has not made any sort of financial donation why do they think they are still entitled to demand the dev make changes to the story?

When making a donation to a charity does that include an entitlement to go to the head office and make decisions on how the charity operates? No, of course it doesn't, so why do people think that donating to a game gives them any sort of entitlement above and beyond those already outlined by the dev.

Why are people acting all surprised at the ending of this game? The dev has been more than clear as to how the story was planned to develop for quite some time now. Nothing wrong with being a critic and offering an opinion about your thoughts on a story, but everybody is a critic and everybody has an opinion. *shrug*

Here is my opinion. Take it or leave it.

It's difficult to end a game well. My biggest gripes about the ending in no particular order:

1) There are 2 endings not counting forever alone. Nikki & Molly.
2) Molly endings are done fine, but Nikki endings lack sex scenes with Nikki.
3) The mom shows her ass off, and flashes her tits during breakfast... Never get to hit that. Fuck her friend for the fourth time though... I mean come on.
4) No threesome with Molly & Nikki at the end
5) It appears to open wider than it closes. It opens up like there are 3 girls you can chase after (Jessica / cory) when in fact there is only 1 molly).

The developer clearly wanted to move on to the next project. So they were stuck with 3 options other than working on them in parallel.

Option 1: Abandon this project, and start the new project.
pro: Instantly start new project
con: bad rep of abandon project

Option 2: Continue this project just long enough to wrap it up as fast as possible.
pro: End the project successfully not abandoning it and get to start new project pretty soon
con: not the best closure possible but something at least

Option 3: Continue this project until it is filled out extensively at the end adding more and more content closing.
pro: people are happy with the ending
con: the new project is delayed for possibly a year or more

It's understandable that the developer chose to close it the way that they did as it would probably take at least an additional 6 months probably over a year to have closed this game with all of the openings. Frankly, the prison girl is the most interesting character to me, and to start a new game with her as the lead is going to be great. I just hope that she is the protagonist and not that "Mr Johnson" whoever the fuck that is.

To be fair, the endings were foreshadowed many updates before...
1) when Tales ends up alone at the cafe. We could have expected the MC to end alone.
2) Molly walking in the exact room our protagonist was, it almost felt like fate... of all the rooms she had to walk into this one ? Unlike other girls, she was the one actively seeking Tales and not just for a fuck

True what you say, but people have a right to also stop donating when a charity does things with their money they do not agree with. :p Sumo has the right to end the game as he wants to, I have the right though to say those endings made me feel sad and sorry for characters I had come to care for and that the Nikki endings were particularly unhappy in my eyes for her and the marriage one did not fit her character at all as written even if an ending with Taylor was never in the cards for her. I have to be honest and with the endings provided I will have to think twice if I do wish to keep supporting him, that is just my opinion though.

I myself always thoroughly enjoyed this game, first and foremost for its humor, and that never changed.
It's understandable that a lot of people weren't exactly thrilled that Nikki was never going to be a love interest in the story, would it have been nice if she was? Of course. But Sumo made it VERY clear from the beginning that she won't be, and I made peace with that and accepted it. I don't know how after two years people still act surprised, and it's not like Sumo and others haven't mentioned it multiple times over and over.
I actually give Sumo mad kudos for sticking to the guns and writing the story that it was set out to be, rather than give into the audience's 'demands' and requests, it's like "is the dev writing the story or you?" kind of thing. Besides, it's impossible to cater to everyone's needs and likes, some will love the story, some will hate it and some will be indifferent, that's always the case, so it's better to write the story YOU want.

I'm just assuming into the wild here, but I think (and parts of the dialogue in this update support that impression) that this feels much like (from Sumodeine's perspective):
I'm sick and tired of every other day a new person coming up saying: "I WANT MORE NIKKI! I WANT TALES TO BE WITH HER! I WANT A NIKKI-RELATIONSHIP-ENDING! AND YOU'RE SHITTY IF YOU DON'T PROVIDE THAT!" - and they just don't care about the story I was going to tell... ...maybe the title of the game wasn't chosen perfectly, but still, it's getting rough and doesn't let me enjoy this as much as it did. If I want to get that "joy of doing things" back I have to do something... ...but I'm not a quitter, I won't let them win... ...so I'll wrap things up to not leave my supporters hanging, I hope they'll understand...

I didn't ask about it (didn't feel like I'm in a place where it would've been appropriate), I just accepted what we're given and did this - and I meant it (because all in all this is still a fun experience even if cut short):
Just wanted to leave a quick

"Thank you for the joyride, Sumodeine!"

Whoa there sailor there is a pretty big difference between patreon and charity. What goes on between supporters and devs is a transaction not a donation.

It's a one sided transaction.
You don't gain decision making control as you've asserted. So either pay for the product because you like it or don't.
Don't however act like a petulant kid on Christmas because you got MegaBlocks instead of Legos.

There's not much of a difference between patreon and charity.... you give money so someone could do something you don't have a share of. Charities let you attend events and/or list you among the donors, devs on patreon add you in the credits or give you roles on discord...
But lets talk about the good parts of the update
