Lastly, even though the updates are coming out slowly (understandably), I can't help but look at the joke 2049 completion date and think it might actually not be too far off. If the update pace continues as it has been (every 6 months), it'll take 17 years to complete this game. The reason I bring this up is I could see Gifted Tease RR having a satisfying ending in 1 or 2 more updates. Maybe we don't really need 7 days per route. Because there was a lot of content in this last update. Another 2 updates of equal length could bring this route to a satisfying conclusion. I can see Curious Student RR needing more updates (based on the 2nd day). But my overall point is, maybe instead of being committed to 7 days per route, you just try to see where the routes naturally take you. Maybe some routes can finish in 2-3 days, while others finish in more days. This approach can cut down the looming helplessness of taking so long to complete.
Thanks for the kind words! I think you're totally right. My original plan was to have each of the six paths have seven separate days--basically 36 updates, after the Day 1 for all three threads. I figured I'd spend about a month on each update, and the whole thing would be wrapped up in roughly three years. Little did I know just how much I could get carried away!
Now I'm thinking seven days for each storyline might be overkill. A week with six different versions of your virgin bride sounds nice, but really... is seven days REALLY necessary to tell the stories? As the months go by, I'm not so sure.
I also completely underestimated the desire for players to see this game finished. Perhaps my favorite creative project is A Song of Ice and Fire, by George RR Martin (you might've heard of it). I love everything about it, except for the final two seasons of the HBO show. I've slowly come to the conclusion that it's unlikely to be completed in his lifetime, which is a bummer, but it doesn't really diminish the greatness of his achievement in my opinion. I think of it as an uncompleted masterpiece, much like Gaudi's Sagrada Familia cathedral. But I'm starting to think I'm in the minority of people who hold this opinion. Lots of people really want to see a THE END at the end of his series--as well as this game--and will frustrated if they don't.
So, I might start stepping on the gas storywise and truncating the week. We'll see.
Does it? I think this last update had more content than the school update. It certainly seemed longer, but I definitely think it had more sexual content than the school update.
That's correct. Day 2 of Gifted Tease Rocky Road had more images, animations, and lines of dialogue. There's a few areas where scenes might not present themselves based on decisions players make. If it felt short, you might find more content on another playthrough.
Hey, have any of the wholesome paths been updated as of yet?
Nope. I'm not opposed to it. I've always wanted to develop a wholesome pornographic video game. Something fun for the whole family. We'll see.
You know with all of the neurological technobabble, the Rocky Road route should be renamed "Star Trek: NTR"
Bwahahaha!
That might be a good idea. Perhaps we can bring back the space octopus...
Anyway, in other news, after a week of feeling relieved I finally finished the update, I created a banner animation. If you like the game and want to spread the word, feel free to add the GIF to your signature. It took me awhile to make, but I think it turned out well, if a little narrow. I'm thinking about making a taller banner, which seems to be the standard around here.
Also, I've opened up the poll for the next update. You can vote for two options. I'm not going to promise I'll do what the majority want, but I'll definitely take it into heavy consideration. After a week of no heavy MVB pressure... I'm ready to get started writing/rendering again. I have no idea what's wrong with me.
