Hi Everyone! Work has FINALLY slowed down, so now's a good time to give an update. But first, I'll answer some questions.
If you were ever thinking of financial support, how about something like Ko-Fi (

)? It's more a tip jar than a direct Patreon clone, but they do have Patreon-like memberships if you ever wanted to go that route. I've come across a couple of content creators that use it, so it might be worth investigating/considering?
Thanks for thinking of financial support! I've seen other developers using those, and I've kind of played around with both. I'm trying to decide if they're right for me. I'm not 100% sure, but I think BMAC might have restrictions against pornography. This doesn't bother me, but I sometimes worry that people might misinterpret my game, which is a serious examination into a male psyche consumed with obsession, as pornographic--not at all what I intended! Then I'd have to explain the nuances of high-minded literary gaming to BMAC customer support, and that could turn into a big headache.
So I think I'll put that on the back burner for now. In the meantime, there's always the crypto option...
Have you thought about creating a discord.
1; it is a good platform for you to keep your fans updated on where/how far you are.
2; people can post their fan-art, you can assess their work and ask some of them to help co-create your work.
3; you can host, meaning you can video conference/have podcasts with fans. Which means you can teach, learn and work together. Etc(the list goes on).
Im too lazy to type other things you can do with discord. But it's an interactive place for you and fans to work together.
This is an interesting idea. I really like the idea of #2! I'd love to see what other people can do with the same assets. As for #1, as you all are aware, speedy updates aren't really my thing. I figure F95 is good enough for that. As for #3, that sounds fun! Maybe someday.
For now though, I'm just kinda too busy to set up and manage a discord. But I like the idea.
What are your top NTR games? I'm always looking for another quality game to try.
NTR games... hmmm... NTR tends to be more of an option in most games than a focus, but have you played
LOVE LURKER? It's got a kooky premise, but the story is a lot of fun and the unique artwork really grew on me.
But the game with NTR elements I've been most impressed with recently is
RUNAWAY PRINCESS. Beautiful artwork, fun story, great characters, and some impressive innovations with RenPy. I wish I had the ability to do half the stuff Mobum does.
For the record, I wouldn't say either of the above games are "NTR Games," but their NTR elements are hot.
OK, now for the MVB update:
- As I've said, work has finally cooled down, and will remain that way for the next two months or so. I'm really looking forward to plowing into My Virgin Bride with all the attention and focus she deserves.
- During my free time over the last few months, I've been writing the script. I think it's taken directions you guys are going to really enjoy. It's not 100% complete because I'm still waiting to see what kinds of technical limitations (either from RenPy or DAZ) might force me to radically shift what I'm trying to do. But the story is plotted out and most of the scenes are fully scripted.
- Regarding the artwork, I've been rendering a little but mostly waiting for DAZ Studios to release their DAZ Studio 5 Beta. Once they do that, I can move my rendering operations to a newer, faster Mac that has the M1 chip and Big Sur. DAZ Studios promised the update will be released "late July or August," so I'm hoping it'll be available any day now. I'm really excited about this. Working with DAZ has often been frustrating, and it's also the most time-consuming and labor-intensive. That said, it's probably my favorite part of the whole MVB experience. I really enjoy learning how to use it (and GIMP) to make quality renders.
- What I want to do in RenPy is gonna be migraine-inducing, so I've been putting that off. It's going to involve the MC using a cell-phone, and figuring out how best to do that in RenPy is something I'm dreading. For real developers, what I'm trying to do is something they could do easily, but for me it will likely involve several days of beating my face into the keyboard. In the next few weeks, I'm gonna try to tackle it. If I can't do it on my own, I'll put out an SOS here on the thread and see if some good samaritan will help me figure it out.
And that's about where we are! It's too soon yet to take a stab at a release date, but I hope to know more by the end of August.
