Did the dating get changed or something because there is no way in hell anyone got the right answers when the dating system came out, that was when I stopped playing.

Also when shopping with the sister and her friend there is no way anyone got the answer correct the first time going through it, most of the time it takes 4-8 weeks doing it every weekend to get it correct until someone got the answers out of the game and posted a walkthrough for it.
I don't know the olden ones in dating, but they are mostly self explanatory if you watch what the girl is saying, some more ("I'd like something sweet and cold" - do you bring a hot dog or an ice cream?) some less obvious. Also you get immediate feedback by gaining a date point or not, so you can easily figure it out yourself. As for the shopping: that one is less obvious, but the in game hints chime in after two fails and tells you what to do.

But that is what I was getting at, once someone figured it all out it was ok but before that time many players just gave up on the dates.

(a) in my opinion it is quite possible to figure it out yourself on the first try
(b) unless you don't pay any attention at all, you'll have it at the third date (or second reload ...) the latest yourself

A walkthrough (which however nobody wrote as far as I know) might be a nice to have but giving up because of a (at least now) three option choice where you will imediately be told whether your answer is correct or not - well, that's a bit extreme, innit?

easy fix for that is either to make a save at the beginning of the date or use rollback... no need to beat yourself up and each girl has the same interaction pattern most of the time.
But yeah it was quiet the nice Sandbox VN back in the day.

Well for the players who don't save scum through the game it can take many weeks to figure it all out and the game was already very grindy in the first place.

Not everyone wants to save scum there way through.

MotH didn't have a rollback feature like MwM does. But it did have a dialog history button that you could use to see what you may have missed. It's the second icon from the left, under the mood bar.

If you remember what you answered the first time, and what was wrong and what was right, it just does not take "many weeks". The most you can lose is two weeks on the shopping - and agreed, that is quite probable - but if you fail the dates that often you are just not paying attention. Again, most of the questions should be obvious, and those that are less so you get immediate feedback. From all you're saying it seems to me you are (mis)judging the game from a way earlier version than the finished one.

Thank you very much. This is something that I wish the game would let me know as it is very valuable information. Such a simple fix now that you explained it. I was clicking the button without the Mom being at the lobby location. I feel stupid now. Again thank you very much.
The game tells you how to change guest level when you switch manor from level 1 to level 2, but most of the player don't read what Julia says.
If you want you can check the video in attach but you have to right click on it and save on your computer, on browser can't be viewed

That requires reading, which most won't do because they're too invested in watching pixels fuck. Sad truth. Less wordy shit, more fuckin'. <insert Porn Hub jokes here>

To be pointlessly fair, I also felt that the setting was weirdly obscure. It seemed almost as if it hadn't been part of the original UI design and got squeezed in somewhere. Yes, you get told where it is, once, but ideally it's be easier to notice in the lobby nonetheless.

I'm confused about the last update how i can see the Annika updates for example. I cant buy the Yoga Room. But i need it for Employee Level 2? The same with Hana. I cant buy the club to get Employee level 2
You need to hire the teacher (by visiting the other hotel) and then send them there weekdays in the morning.

The "clue", in case you forgot along the way in your playthrough, would be the "1" above the lobby. It's the only location that has a number above it. So there has to be a reason for that, right? Would it not make sense to click it to find out why it's there?

Actually bedrooms have numbers too ... and in the exact same style. ;)

I think that's my main issue. All rooms have a symbol, albeit on the opposite corner, but it's non-interactive (clicking it is the same as clicking the room). You can hover over it and something info pop ups. But if you hover over the number nothing happens. And there's just no indication that this specifically is a button. Buttons in the game typically have that glossy black background ... so this at least should have that too.

And possible a mouseover tool tip.

Anyway. You don't need to explain the button to me; I get it. But that doesn't mean the UI can't be improved.

To be fair, you can't assign Julia to the bedrooms on the second floor to receive guests. ;)

The difference is that the rooms are clearly room numbers, and the lobby is the only room on the first floor to have one.
That said, I like the idea of the tool tip, that is not a bad idea.

I thought the game informed us to click on the number above the reception?
Don't remember when, maybe at Hotel lvl 2? But really do think it informed me. I don't think that I just guessed.
That said, I may have just been clicking to see what things did.

It does, but a lot of people don't listen to Julia. She does tend to go on about things... :sneaky::whistle::p

You know, she does...

+1 for the Reception-level-select tool-tip.

EDIT: I just opened the game to look at it again and see if I could come up with alternatives:

1) The planning screen could have a 'warning', similar to the 'no space for these guests', if your hotel level > guest level;
2) Possibly have the guest-level as a small sub-script (sub-circle?) of the hotel level disc in the upper left (or just a separate circle next to it);
3) Have a guest-level warning as a repeated dialogue with Julia, dismiss-able similar to Amanda's warning (most work, probably not worth it).

Sorry, I'm feeling creative. Faerin can replace the like with a facepalm if I'm overstepping.

Ah, OK. Thanks.
That changes the dynamic of the problem a little. It's not a problem with the game, it's a problem with people not paying attention.
Yeah, having a contingency for that scenario might not be a bad idea.
As PyoT suggested, having a little pop up appear when hovering over the number is not a bad idea... although, if someone is already hovering over it, clicking it doesn't require much ingenuity?
I guess it wouldn't take much to include it & would save a lot of people with the problem. (y)
