When i played earlier the game frooze during animations, i read before that others had the same issue and that there were problems finding a solution to it. Is there any progress in this matter?

There should be a codec that provides a remedy there. But that didn't work for me either. The only "solution" i have found is to disable the videos. It's a shame, but the scenes are really hot even without it. But the game doesn't have that much sex at the moment anyway

Playing the game with animations disabled, doesnt really do it for me really, then its just a management game. But what is this codec you mention, where can i find it and has it worked for anybody you know of so it is worth trying?

Are you using Windows 7 or Windows 8? because people complaining about video problem have those two OS.
Can you also post a log after you have played an event with a video (a replay of an event is OK) and then attach it here?
You can find logs here C:\Users\YourAccount\AppData\LocalLow\Faerin Games\Mystwood Manor
You have to replace YourAccount with the account name on your computer

Im using Windows 8, but how can i send a log AFTER i have played an event with a video, when i cant get past it (the only thing i can do is quit the game when it freeze)? This is the log I have now when doing so, if that helps in any way?!?

The K-Lite codec was recommended to me. I have it. And i can play all animations of the game outside of the game, i.e. via the corresponding folder, without problems. But it still doesn't work in the game itself. I have no idea what else I have to adjust to make it work.

Yeah its kinda the same for me, I can watch the animations in their folder, but not ingame. But I can actuallly do this now, without installing any new codec?!?

I have just played through the current version. I still have the problem. I hope someone reads this and maybe knows a solution that I have not yet figured out, yet. It has to work somehow. Otherwise 70% of all players would complain here. and i don't think they all have better windows than my 8.1 :)

There are a few things that you can try.
  1. Install the codec (use default settings during install and decline any bundled software from installing).
  2. Install 9.0c. (the log does mention a problem with DirectX).
  3. Lastly, try rolling back the drivers for your video card to version .

Firstly, thanks for taking interest in this problem and trying to help out. I will ofc install DirectX 9,0c, especially since you say it mentions a problem with it and I will also try out the K-Lite codec (even if this solution seems strange since I can play all the animations separatly in their game-folder). But what I won't do is mess with the grapic-card drivers, not for a porn-game, not even for this one. :) Like most others I use this comp for so much else and those programs/games may get affected in strange ways when I open up their saves suddenly using an older driver than I had last time.

You're welcome.

Actually, I have found that in most cases, rolling back the driver won't interfere with any of your other software. But I can understand your reluctance to do so.

Generally, we've had quite a few players on Win8.1 report problems with their game. Sometimes rolling back the driver works, other times, upgrading the OS to Windows 10 works. So YMMV..

Hey!! What's going on in here?
I expect to come to this thread and laugh at ridiculous complaints or stupid requests & the appropriately snide responses to them.
Not to see sensible questions being asked & helpful responses given.
This just isn't cricket. Hmph.

lol jokes, it's good to see! (y)

I'm fresh out of snide responses at the moment. I do have them on order though. :ROFLMAO:

DirectX and the codec I have. But I prefer not to play around with the driver. That only leads to problems in other places. Windows 10 is not planned yet, I would need a new PC. And it's still at least 2 years too early for that. Then I guess I have to play the game without the videos. Well, not too bad. It's also great without it ;)

I'm running latest Nvidia driver, 466.63, with no issues, but I'm on Win 10.
Shit, just realised 10's almost 6 years old now!

Actually got the latest release to work on Mac with Wine... apart from the tooltips. Which makes unlocking progress with the girls an exercise in frustration that would challenge a zen master.

I don't suppose anyone has a guide for the event triggers? I'm stuck on lvl 1 Annika :D

There's a link to the guide I posted in the OP that will have all of the girls' tier events.
