Factory settings? I am running Windows 10. I have two monitors. One is 3440x1440. The other is 1080x1920 (portrait). This is the only Unity game I have ever had trouble with.
I had the same issue. It helps if you set the games resolution via command line parameters:

"Mystwood Manor.exe" -screen-fullscreen=0 -screen-width=1920 -screen-height=1080

This did not work. No changes. I appreciate the attempt though. =-[

Okay, I managed to figure out how to get into the options and change the resolution despite not being able to see what things read.

Hooray for clicking buttons until something worked! Clicked the 4th button, clicked what resembled a resolution drop-down. Even though it was defaulted to the first entry, "640x480", it definitely was NOT that resolution! LOL.

I usually stay out of the Ren'Py discussions here or on the MotH thread, because I've made my position known, but this is nonsense.

Ren'Py is backed by Python. You can do just about anything (possibly not make a good FPS) with it. Customizing the UI is easy.
So do I, as it's mostly people with little to no development experience repeating stuff they have seen other people (usually with just as little experience) say.

However, just because something is possible doesn't make it a good idea.
I don't get the whole Unity vs Renpy discussion to be honest, it's like people are offended when someone says Ren'py is not suited for something.
And so many people, either because they like to troll or are just not very....informed (I'll try to be nice), say this game should be made with Ren'py.

I would like to make something clear:
Ren'py is intended for VN's, so if you are making a straight up VN, I'd recommend it.
However, Ren'py not suited for a game like this (not even close).

Just because a game has pictures and text, doesn't make it a VN.
Sure you can use custom code and make "anything", but that still doesn't mean it's a good idea.
The whole intention of frameworks like these is to reduce the workload, not increase it.
It's like saying you can make a spreadsheet in Word, but that doesn't mean it's just as good as Excel for that purpose.
For all the "offended" people out there: It's not about a Renpy developer being a better or worse person than a Unity developer, it's about making smart (and informed) choices.

/end rant
I didnt mean to start a whole discussion or argument on Ren'Py vs Unity. My statement was more of a wishful thinking.
I have never done anything with Unity so I dont know how much of it drag and drop to make the development easier and how much of it is coded, So I'm in no position to compare the two frameworks. Anyway its your game and you make the choices that make life easier for you. Best of luck.

I disagree. There are plenty of sandboxes done in Ren'Py; many of them actually well made. I haven't played MM, but I played MotH a ton - hell, I wrote the original Wine instructions for it. There was nothing in MotH that couldn't have been done (and done well) in Ren'Py. Doing it in Ren'Py would make Mac and Linux versions free, and get rid of the whole VC++ redistributable thing that so many people just don't understand how to do (never mind that the instructions are clear, and are posted a lot...).

Anything that's not compute-intensive I'd rather write in Python. If it is compute intensive, C or C++.
I personally like Ren'Py because it doesn't have lots of dependencies to worry about and can easily be available across platforms and of course for the power of Python language to code almost anything with.

1. What do you think about the UI animations?

2. Right now a girl's energy bar updates as soon you assign her to a job.
So you basically see how much energy she will have left after working there.
What do you prefer?

3. What do you think of the hotel management so far?
My plan was to add a manager job later on (when you assign a girl to the office) that will take care of the basic planning for you.

4. What do you think about the guest interactions so far?
I want to try to make these a little bit more interesting (and definitely not too repeating/grindy).

5. The results that are shown each turn, will get longer as more girls/guests are in the hotel. How would you prefer my to handle this?

6. Would you prefer if characters had a different color name in the dialog window (so it's easier to tell them apart)?

7. Would you prefer to give savegames a name yourself?

If you have any additional suggestions for improvements, please share them in a comment.
Thanks a lot guys, you are awesome! :)
1) I do like them, but they are slow, and skipping can be slightly dangerous if there is a cue coming up.

2) It took a moment to figure out, but I like it better that way. Might be worth mentioning it in the tutorial.

3) We talked about this the other day, I still think she should be unlocked based on what difficulty you choose. Story mode, she is always an option. Normal mode, she is available for a guest after you have unlocked all of the options (maybe the guests won't pick the same thing again until all 3 options are used once, so we avoid randomly picking the same thing 13 times in a row). Hard mode, she is unlocked the same as normal, but you have to pay her. In nightmare she is not an option.

4) Hard to say, the more the merrier, hopefully there will be some sexy ones. XD
I would like to see them boost your performance, it could be a way to help when you messed something up, offset a mistake, you can go help them with something else, depending on who it is, they might have different problems, from eating a woman out to telling a writer he needs to add more nudity and sex to his books ( we could see that scene as we describe it).

5) I would like to see a breakdown page, with all of the results on one, and you can click to see more. That is my first thought anyway...

6) I am leaning toward 'yes', at least for the main characters, if it gets to be too much, the guests could all be the same color.

7) That is nice if you don't need extra click to default save, but I don't really care that much about that as long as I am not limited on how many I can have. Showing the date and the day/char name is not bad though or something else to identify where it is in the game. In a normal situation, I would save before each time slot to a unique save slot. Hopefully you already have a plan to let us scroll or change pages or something... let there always be a new slot at the top like in MotH, or something like that.
What can I say? I an OCD about saving. I have been known to hit quick save after doing a hard save, because I instinctively didn't want to lose that progress ...of saving. ...Too many years of playing things that will crash with no warning, no Bethesdas mentioned...

What, Linux is just a Mac wannabe! :p

Oh hell no! I am NOT installing this (or any porn game) on my work machine! I don't want to get fired!
I don't want to go in flame wars, but Linux was Unix-like before Mac was Unix-like :p
Btw, you can install Linux at your Mac.
Btw, this is my personal laptop. My work is not friendly to any games... ok, maybe for solitarie. :D

Au contraire, mon frere...Linux was first released in 1991. A/UX (Apple Unix on a Mac) was first released in 1988.

Now, I will grant you that Linux came out before OSX. But when OSX came out, Apple became the largest Unix vendor in the world. These days that's Google, with (Linux) Android.

sory but this game is so bad, why make it so complicated when we only want to see the scenes?
Because it is a game and not just an image folder or comic with some story. Just have some patience. There will be sex in time, but for now it is just the setup of the game mechanics that has been worked on and in near future will be setup of the story. Sex will come in time.

Now I will not mind if not all will have to follow the HJ, BJ, TJ progression though, since I feel that makes less sense with a more experienced female with or without cougar traits. But that is up to Faerin. :p
