It got 39%
The Fantasy Kingdom (more gameplay focus) got 61%.
So I'd assumed (hoped, really. Since I prefer MwM over MotH by a big margin) that gameplay focus was the direction of the next one.

I can't say I'm surprised that Faerin settled on the VN despite poll results.
VNs are probably the safer bet if you're looking for mass appeal.

But I'll still argue that going with gameplay focus offers more flexibility. Since you can 'dumb it down' fairly easily with a story mode and get a chunk of both audiences.
Harder to add enjoyable gameplay to a VN.

There was one more poll for supporters only, and due to the time the fantasy one would take (due to the heavy mechanics), it was then voted down. What can I say? People want results, and they don't like to wait. I was a little disappointed too, but you have to do what you have to do...

If you'd read the post just before yours (and it's been the conversation for the last page) you might have picked up on it being the opposite of that.
Seems like Faerin's going back to a VN like MotH.

But, you saying 'again' makes me curious...
What are the numbers?

I don't know the exact numbers, but MwM feels like less because the vast majority of lewds are in the last 3rd of the game. MotH had different pacing with the various characters, so spread out the sexy time a bit better. Honestly, I almost forgot I was playing a porn game for about the first half of MwM. The backloading of lewds is probably my biggest complaint of the game. Everything else is superior to MotH in my opinion.

There were just as many girls in MOTH, and generally they also took their sweet time until they were ready for some action, so there was a bit of "backloading" as well, I'd argue even just as much. Adding the female guests, I am pretty sure that MwM has more lewd scenes in absolute numbers. The main difference for me however was that in MOTH the girls had different pacing and also different amounts of scenes, so it felt less formulaic and more individual per character. Here reaching hotel level 5 means "I get a new set of scenes for everybody", whereas in MOTH you progressed everybody individually and could have, say, daily sex with Ashley already without having even talked to Amy.

The other thing about the progression is that MOTH had way more interactions between MC and the girls which weren't lewds but contributed to the feel of a continuous progression, slightly more suggestive talks, lingering hugs, whereas MwM feels to me a bit more like jumping from one base to the next instead of walking or running, some breaks feel somewhat sudden.

However, what this game has in favor is an overarching story (even though it is not that pronounced) and stuff to do which is not (at least not directly) "hunting girls". That's always a big plus in my book. An MC who thinks of sex and sex only becomes unrelatable after a while to me personally.

I don`t know, how the numbers are, and a direct comparsion, is always good, what caught my attention, reading the conversations, was that from the guts I couldn´t say which one had more H scenes, Moth had plenty, what happend there is that (and if iirc) Faerin said at some point he will focus on the Main Characters, more than on the secondary ones, in Moth he experimented with the gameplay mechanics and with the Management aspect, overall what I like in his games is that there is a balance how Cartageno said.

an other aspect is that Faerin never made "VN´s" he make games that tell a story, In Moth you got: Ashley,Veronica, Amy, Auntie, Ashley`s friend, Claire, Daisy, the Vigilante, "Claire`s rival", the neighbour, and with all of them one or two H scenes, potential to make a long term project was there.
All these characters had a own story, develping these all would mean, that it becomes a never ending story pretty quick, and updating 10 branches with the feedback from the audience, is a hard task to take on.

Yap, stories or goals are important to me. Right now I am playing a game (advertising games in other threads is not allowed, so I won't mention it is called "Mist" here) where I am actually not that interested in the remaining lewds. I've had anal and titjobs, cowgirl and doggy and missionary, on the table and on the beach, so normally I'd lose interest now, but I am somewhat involved in the story and want to see how it ends. Judging by me, I wouldn't need the lewds anymore (but the gameplay mechanic begs to differ, lewds give you a bonus for the actions you do) and just continue. And that is what a great VN - or "game with lewds" - is for me, something that draws me in and then some.

This game has finally ended. Pretty good story but not as good as Man of the House.

It felt that this last update is too short and rushed.

I also noticed that the girls do not have a 100% heart. Julia's heart in only 90 while the rest of the girls have 75.

Is there a way where Faerin can include repeatable scenes with the rest of the ladies during day time? I know the next project is coming up soon. If this is truly the final version of the game, I would understand. Faerin never disappoints with the games he created.

I'm not sure Faerin will do any new guest scenes in the next update (though hard to tell with the Halloween themed update planned, not to mention the couple of bugs that were reported after release), but that one will be the last as he is eager on starting on the next game in November. Having to do new guest scenes would put the new game on hold for another month and he's already promised his patrons a new game next month.
