Did you dev friends tick off the wrong people - there are devs whos games are MASSIVE users of circumventing rules with huge income via patreon but have been doing what they've been doing for years in most cases. This means one of two things (a) devs upsetting the wrong people or (b) patreon aren't as upset with this as many assume as its well known its more Paypal having bones to grind over the content and pushing Patreon policies because of their influence on proceedings with what they accept money regarding and why SubscribeStar works as an alternative as they don't work with Paypal and never likely ever will. If its (b) then patreon are probablu more than happy to retain these big earners on their platform and several old users have recieved emails trying to coax them back these last few months and weve all heard stories of alleged layoffs over at Patreon with recent pandemic hitting them hard. Lets be honest Patreon only even really has the appeal because of brand recognition as most are aware of it and what it does - its why everyone uses Twitch or Youtube etc over alternative sites which do similar things... people are just aware most of those ones. Few can get by strictly off say SubscribeStar and i can only think off hand of DMD which operates a sizable project strictly from it.Ugh, here we go again, ok, so those that say that they can add it through a patch, that's false, Patreon doesn't allow people to circumvent their rules, their rules apply to any place the devs put something Patreon related, their discord and their own page have to follow Patreon's rules.
The whole idea of "But other devs do it" doesn't matter, they don't received a report of said content, that's all, the moment a user reports a dev of having a patch to add something against their rules their page will be put on review, or if the thing they add is something serious they can ban the game entirely or even worse the dev, everything is up to who they go against, there are open minded "mods" on Patreon and they won't follow a report and just ignore it, others will try to crush the game at any opportunity they have because they are prudes.
Patreon makes their ToS ambiguous for that reason, so they can change every statement to their advantage. Even worse there has been reports of some devs that got their page taken down because Patreon representatives saw patches in this page (F95).
I'm not trying to argue here I'm just giving you what has been happened with some of my dev friends in the past, and why Jikei and Phreeoni (Nocht) have decided to not do a patch. It isn't worth the risk for them, not that it wasn't worth the hasle, they wanted to do it too, but as it was minimal content they decided to not develop it further.
Still I agree with you my friend in it not being worth the risk as really does the game need it? its growing and developing a loyal fanbase with doing its own thing. I think the whole IC thing is a bit overdone and is a bit too much of a common fall back on people wanting easy coin with minimal effort on too many projects with it being a prominent tag yet not featured till much later into a projects development. The appeal of Mythic Manor is a simply one - really attractive and diverse monster girls. Monster Girls is really popular this day and age and is the most demanded niche at Fakku the biggest legal Hentai provider in the western world. They've got a winning formula so as you put it - its just not worth it esp as its not like we see much of the MCs mother anyway so as its a tease and a big demand. Weve seen other girls who have been teased much harder for much longer still lacking in content to be demanding more of first in my opinion lol.
