After getting so much dumped there in the early days of the US military establishing a presence, it has become central to the cuisine.
Even though I'm adamantly AGAINST pineapple on pizza, I'd have respected that Greek dude in Canada so much more if he'd used SPAM instead of the near-fatless cured pork loin those crazy Canucks call "bacon".
