I agree that the game isn't a very good porn game. It's more of a game that has porn in it, but it would be pretty hard to jerk off to. A solution would be to make a version of the game where you play as the Princess that's just a CYOA game. It wouldn't be that hard to convert, but I'm not sure I would want an alternate version of the game to exist, even if it pleases people. I feel pretty bad having one of my stock responses in this thread being 'I don't care if you enjoy playing the game'. It's pretty callous. But it's pretty much true. So sorry to all you people who like everything about the game except the gameplay. You got caught in the crossfire my experimental design bullshit.

As for the losing favor at the end of week 20, that always happens, you can't avoid it. The number it lowers by will probably change based off how much favor on average you can get out of the second round of council member visits.

And as for a walk through, , I don't have time to make it myself. It will be a lot easier having all the information on that than a bunch of disparate, separately made breakthroughs.
Don't get discouraged by some that are searching for problems, need everything done their way!
It's a really brilliant game and fresh idea/design. Whereas to the fappability...don't worry it's not an issue imho :p

The purpose of my post and why I didn't tag you Apollo Seven , was to get some feedback from the community and start up some discussion on the how-to and what to do's of the game, and therefore encourage the making of that aforementioned walkthrough/wiki, by us the players.
You just focus on making a great game mate! Don't let a few vocal critics change your perspective of us the players or your design philosophy ;)

If an update involves a change in the first decimal number (say version 0.36 to version 0.4 instead of 0.36 to 0.38), does that usually indicate a chunkier content update rather than a bugfix?

Basically asking since it would be more convenient to just know whether or not there's more content based on the version number rather than me looking at the changelog.
For my games, it works like this. .X0 to .X1, or any other second decimal change is usually a bug fix and minor content updates, unless it's several numbers higher than the previous one (usually to .X5) in which case it's a content update but not that big. The first digit, like .3 to .4 represents a major content update. I bundle lots of content into major updates, so if you just want to play lots of new stuff at once, the next update you want to pay attention to is .5.

It doesn't bother me. As I'm pretty sure I've stated in this thread, being able to defend your ideas under criticism is paramount to understanding if said ideas are good or not. I'm pretty sure lots of people are reading this as being defensive, but I'm not trying to disprove their criticisms or anything, I'm engaging them in conversation to get better information both about their criticism and my ideas. The posts that are praise are nice and I like getting them, but I respond to the criticism more often because it's more useful to do so. There's nothing really to say to the positive posts beyond an occasional thanks.

At this point, there's essentially two major avenues of criticism coming at this game. The first is commentaries about the design choice of the card system, which really hasn't given me anything useful in a while. And the second is that they don't enjoy the game, which is pretty different. It raises a philosophical question of should my goal be to maximize the amount of fun the most possible people have playing? These are games after all, and people primarily do play them to have fun. But I feel like with this game in particular, there's goals beyond the moment to moment enjoyment of the player. I'm not saying the game is "art" or anything, I'm just trying to achieve a different emotion in places.

Just so you know, if Collete decides by herself to fire the Vizier, but then Maria talks her into asking him to be Collete's tutor again, you can have the Vizier as a tutor without having an unremovable Pink card in the deck, which makes his attempts at corrupting Collete rather trifling to deal with, you can play the rest of the content out without him so much as managing to grope Collete and with no penalties to the teaching, as Ulric would have.

Made a little for the game, it doesn't cover everything in the game but it should have all the relevant information for people that are trying to hunt certain scenes.
Holy shit, good going. Thanks for dedicating the time to make this!

If Collette keeps refusing him tho, her subconcious will be pretty stacked with "pressured" cards :p

Wow that's really awesome! Actually copy pasting everything you mentioned into seperate individual wiki pages, for all the characters for example...would be a wonderful way to get the ball rolling. And once that initial inertia has been tackled, it'll be much easier for people to just add to them :)

Actually, I really like the game for what it is. It is different and actually quite entertaining in a simple, but good way. Keep up the good work and thanks!

I don't get it, Dev, what's the point of blocking savescumming? I wish I could enjoy this game, some of the ideas and events seem to be really nice, but I get stressed because the Princess keeps failing the tests and the emotion cards needed don't show up, and the random event mechanic certainly does not help that. I understand adding a degree of difficulty, but why prevent cheating on a single player porn game?

I prevent reloading the cards dealt because the whole point of the game is you don't control the Princess's decisions. Not passing checks isn't failing, if you pass all of them you'll miss lots of content. There are some pretty easy ways to cheat though. Just open up the dev console and do whatever you want.

I understand, and this would be the "right way" to play, but if someone is reloading they don't want to play it the right way. On the contrary, they want to get a specific outcome without depending on luck to have fun, passing a test they failed or failing a test they passed. It really sucks having to restart a playthrough just to get one scene, for example. There's no point in doing that in a single-player game, where players don't need a balancing mechanic.

Speaking of player control, do they ever get more 'involved' in the various hijinks, or are they just regulated to needlework in the hut forevermore?

The current end of game is at week 27 and the climax of the story doesn't start until 51. So there's a lot more sitting around a hut before shit starts going down.

It feels overall very weird that you don't get the option to pick between the five cards chosen from the pool.

Otherwise enjoy the game a lot!
