The night events also seem to have stopped - for many nights I would let her go unmonitored, not constantly babysitting, a situation that in earlier saves would obviously lead to outside interference, yet now, nothing, she almost always goes to the model shop alone, or works alone.
Yeah I saw the hidden room, but I definitely didnt finish the ghost questline, I maybe saw 2? of the haunted house flashback sequences.
It wasn't a real confrontation with Lawrence, the only dialogue was something like "well now I know what her last name is"..... and that was it. I also had the scene where after a date Kana shares her real last name, but that was about it. It's a real weird state now, like nothing happens day in day out, feels like a dead game which is why I thought it was one step before end (to be fair I could kill end boss at any time)

Sounds like you did get the event. Or at least part of it... But it shouldn't trigger before you see all the hide and seek events, because the information revealed in all of them is critical in understanding Kana's secret. It sounds like something definitely got fucked somewhere, though I have no idea what, where or how...

Was that supposed to be accessible before all the hide and seek games were done? I don't remember... But I remember that old guides said to do all the hide and seek games while raising Kana's affection to 800-900 to view the various date events, and then find the room.
Unfortunately, this'd require a lot more investigation than I have time or patience for at the moment, so I can't really help beyond speculating.
i loved the art and the game was great. my issue is just that this is porn. the delivery of the H scenes was too much of an afterthought by putting them basically solely in the gallery was the way I found them? maybe i did it wrong and there's a way to watch the H scenes ingame but if so that is not good UI, these should just be cutscenes, i shouldn't have to hunt for them. or else make the hunt part of the game and very clearly displayed. just pause the game and show them, whether i have to hunt them down or not lol
It's not an afterthought. It's intended. I dunno how many NTR games you've played where the focus is on the cuck perspective, but having the scenes gallery exclusive or some such is nowhere near new for this particular genre. As is, I did a breakdown on the scene distribution, and Nebel doesn't REALLY have gallery exclusive scenes the way some other games I could name do. There's the dream sequences after all.
Beyond that though, yes, it's intended to some extent that you're supposed to find the scenes so to speak. Whether that's by looking at the cameras at the right time during the day-part, or taking the right actions during the night time, the point is that getting various scenes is intended to be a hunt. It's part of how the system works.
Obviously, it's not for everyone. But for a NTR focused game? It's brilliant, regardless of whether you life to self insert or not. It's not the first game that does hunts for the scenes either in this genre. Stuff like Scars of Summer has it to an extent, and so do other games.
Basically, it's a genre thing. You, the player, KNOW that shit may or may not be happening to Kana, but McCuck-kun, the character, doesn't and it's through your efforts that he finds out, or not, and does something about it to some extent, or not.
