Haha, neither was the creation of alcohol but that worked out perfectly fine. On a serious note, did you try setting it to a different compatibility through the troubleshooter or actually set it to run on a different mode like for Windows 7 or 8? If that doesn't/didn't work then you might have to update your graphics drivers as that's the only other area I can think of at the moment that would cause such an issue.
Yeah, it was set to Windows 8, I'm not certain how to do compatibility mode otherwise.
I promise I'm not technologically illiterate I just haven't run into this problem before.

Set it to Windows 7 then if you haven't tried yet, just right click on the NightofRevenge.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Click on the box for Compatibility mode and use the drop box to set it. I gave the instructions since I couldn't tell from your comment if you use the Troubleshoot Compatibility on the right click menu or go through Properties.

Well, it was a good attempt anyway, if nothing else. Windows 7's compatibility worked about as well as Windows 8's did, which is to say not at all. We've been at this a week now and I'm starting to think the game is a bit more trouble than its worth.
Thank you kindly for the aid, its been a learning experience if nothing else.

You know, I've always wanted to say 'have a nice life' to a pleasant someone when I thought I would never speak with them again, but it just sounds too inordinately hostile for a friendly goodbye, like I'm about to shoot them in the kneecap and drive off with their life savings. So, instead, have a nice day, friend. Good luck in future endeavors.

help! when starting the game it doesn't let me go up or down between the startup options, not even with the mouse. But in the same winrar it works normal, so I think I'm extracting it wrong or I don't know, someone who knows how to solve it?

We've got the exact same problem, friend. Read the last, oh, week's worth of posts, see if any of those help. If not, maybe you'll receive help just as I did?

Yeah, I look at it, what they said did not work for me and some methods were complicated and tedious, but paste all the files from NoR ver.0.42 to a NoR from previous versions that did work for me (ver.0.28 and ver.0.29) and that's it It works for me, I don't know why, but it works for me now, anyway thanks for answer me.

I don't know what specific files you're switching out- do you mean the data files or the executable/application?
I think I found the problem anyway, its not the executable itself, its something specifically in the NightofRevenge_Data folder - and while I COULD go out and find the specific file thats breaking the menu, that seems like something that is going to break something else very specific if changed. You fix one bug, and you get two more. I'll try it anyway to see if I can find whats specifically wrong, because until then I'm stuck playing v0.29 instead of 0.42.

Going over the problem, lets see.
By process of elimination, It's something in the NightofRevenge_Data folder, and a problem from as early as Version 0.34. I've made a 'changelog' of all the obvious things that have changed between 0.29 and 0.42. Might be incomplete, but this is everything I can see in the NightofRevenge_Data folder. Otherwise, in 0.29, the OtherConfigData folder doesn't exist either, which changes in 0.34.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
If its not a problem with specifically one of those folders, then I'm lost and this was a waste of time.
EDIT: I put all those folders in the v0.29 folder in their proper places. Except globalgamemanager, because when I replaced 29's gammanag with 42's, 29 crashed after launch. Didn't get the menu issue otherwise. What the hell? I bet I'm going to get hardcore bugs come whatever the game considers level 43 to be though.
EDIT2: Alright yeah, thats working pretty effectively. If anyone else is having that issue with the main menu where you can't select anything, try the above.

Has an estimate date ever been announced for when would the game be completed
Not that I'm aware of. But considering the current rate we'd be looking at about 5 more years. He pumps out 1 update each month and goes in versions of 0.01 per update. We're currently at 0.42 so 58 more updates to go. But keep in mind this could be wrong if he makes an update that has enough content that the developer feels is worth more than a singular update.
