I would like it clarified if this was a harem game or not.

If the relationships are pointless I can stop wasting time on multiple saves.

I cant imagine it is, maybe pairings but no harem.

In the locker-room this update, Vanessa said she'll get MC if Lizzie doesn't. I think that points towards single relationships. This is the first update where you can quit girls paths too. So, it might have a harem I suppose but it also has single-girl paths. A harem doesn't fit with the girls personalities either, this has been a story game rather than a porn game. I cant see it make sense from a story POV to have a harem.

I doubt that. Far too many love interests for that to work. I can maybe see some of them settling for a 3 way relationship, like Vanessa and Lizzie but no more than that. For example, it wouldn't make sense for characters like Jeanne or cousin to be ok with sharing after what happened with their own partners.

I just wish dev gives us an option to settle for a main girl near the end because doing that at earlier points results in far less content with each update.

u forgot if u play with the ic=ncest patch it can get you Lizzie- Vanessa and Jeane path not forgetting that amie travels a lot and she could be okay with a wild nights from now and then because its hard to see her settle for a real relationship, as far for the other goes we can add Cecille, Anastasia, and even the bitchy teacher and Rene's sister since it seems there is no real connection there but rather just a meet up for some fun so it's okay the real pb is Stephania and Brandy since they both love the mc and mc is starting to falling for them

I know you guys love a harem but i'm more of a romance/date sim kinda girl.

I don't mind it when it's side content to the main game like in Alison, it has a harem path but the love path is the main story.

When it's part of the main story though it just makes the relationships seem so pointless to me. I thought with the relationship building it would serve a purpose and not just free fuck central.

Not every game is for everyone. No complaints, it was pretty good just not liking where it's going is all.

Occultus does harem how I like it. No relationship building just tells you there are holes, fuck them.

Having a harem route doesn't prevent your pursuit for romancing a single girl in multiple different saves. You still only say Yes to one girl and say No to the others. The only difference is that harem route would allow an extra path where you're allowed to say Yes to everyone.

So I can understand dropping a game if you're a harem-only kind of player playing a game that might not allow harem. But for a romance/date kind of player playing a harem game seems to be perfectly doable.

And to be fair, I don't think the game has hinted that harem route is the main route anyway. There are hints of some potential pairings, but it's not like anyone is OK with everyone.

Actions and consequences.

Relationships are meaningless if sleeping with everybody isn't a problem, makes relationship building seem inconsequential.

That's also why I prefer games like Rockstar and Twists of my life and Japanese date sim style VN's, there are consequences to your actions.

If you sleep with multiple people you end up with nothing so you have to pick and choose what and who you do.

Take Twists of my Life. If you start a relationship with Ann then have sex with her ... frenemy? ... the friend she hates anyway ... then Ann breaks up with you and moves out. If you date the teacher then try it on with her friend at the club she breaks up with you.

If I start something with someone here I can still have everyone else and nobody says a single thing. It just makes those relationships so absolutely meaningless.

Take Stephania, she's tired of being treated like a slut and wants to be treated with respect, she claims to have feelings for the MC and he says all the right words back to her yet a bit later he's balls deep in someone else and no one bats an eyelash.

Sure I can follow one girls path and ignore all the others but that path has no substance.

It's more like a collection of fuck buddies than lovers.

Point well made. I think it's going to be extremely rare to see patreon-based games (essentially made by "amateurs") to be as deep as what you prefer. I agree that a lot of these games are "empty" in a sense that the world doesn't really react to your choices, and where different paths exist side by side without acknowledging one another. Even rockstar is simply blocking paths instead of reacting to your choices.

Not counting Japanese VNs, I think Offcuts is probably the only one, out of what I've played, that has super solid individual paths where the story unfolds differently. But then again, Offcuts is very Japanese VN-like.

To be fair though, I dont believe any of the girls know that Brian is doing sexual/semi-sexual stuff with all (or most) of them. He is just a member of the friend-group. I think that changes next update, in a way the girls paths just now started (at least some of them). the game for the most part, until we got these decisions that will seemingly lead to branching, has been fairly linear. Brian was just one of their friends, but now they see him as a potential partner (same goes for Brians view on the girls).

A similar way of putting it is: They are all friends, and that friendship is evolving into a relationship (if the player wants it)

I mean, I always thought there would be consequences. There's no way Brandy would be fine with you dating anyone else. Similarly, Vanessa or Lizzie would be outraged at the thought of MC dating Stephanie. Since the paths were introduced in just this update, there might be suspicion points or choices we make in the future episodes leading to getting caught. But, yeah it would be nice if we got to see Brian's guilt or dilemma. Maybe Jeane's too, because she knows Brian is dating Brandy right?

I downloaded this by mistake. last time I played this it was on unity I think? it was also very short and buggy but with great renders. but there was so many other good projects going on that this became a back-burner.

when I had unzipped it and started playing, I remembered how it was to play and actually groaned out load lol. then I noticed (yes it can take a moment or three ) it was renpy and gave it a go.

suffice to say, its off the back-burner. I can honestly say I missed a bunch of events in my online mmorpgs reading through this. I haven't missed an event for months. the dialogue, story and renders blend together so well that I just couldn't stop clicking.

like others here, I know it will all come crashing down when I eventually have to pick a single (or possibly double) girl, but right now I just cant. its just too damn much of a feast for the eyes

Damn, I can't find it now. Somewhere (I swear it was on Discord, but I don't seem to have RoyalCandy's Discord now) I saw him post that there was some poll on Patreon where apparently tons of folks wanted him to have a harem as an option. Even if that's true: (1) there's no guarantee he'll acquiesce to their request; (2) IIRC, he stated that there was really only one he could see as even possible, and so it would absolutely not involve a whole bunch of women; (3) I seem to remember him also mentioning that he planned to have single-route options where Brian could end up in a romantic, committed relationship for any single girl (well, idk about teachers); and (4) as has been pointed out, you already have opt-out choices for several girls as of this episode, so you can ditch the harem if you want.

I really wish I could find that comment again so I could give more reliable information. Take or leave what I described up above. However, I really think his preference — his vision of the story — is that Brian will commit to a single girl (whom you choose) and presumably move forward with her. He does, for instance, keep saying he wants to become a better guy than he's been, and he even expresses doubts about getting involved with Anastasia (for example), like going further with her could be a mistake. So I don't see RoyalCandy forcing a harem on anyone. If it ends up being a possible ending, it's probably only there if you really want it. Almost everything else in the game points to Brian having to choose and become a decent guy.
