Nope,

Dev just really doesn't like to communicate that often. He has done this since episode 1. So I am really not worried about this. Chapters get bigger so it takes longer to devellop. We will see it once its done. Dev usually post if he thinks he is getting closer to release. Don't expect anything soon though.
Given how he reacts to criticism it's best he stays away anyways, you need a thick hide and a cool head to deal with the shit people like to sling around here. Gotta get a community manager.

Don't be so skeptical, skep-tiker, the dev probably doesn't hang out here too much!

Development is delayed because the game has reached a point where there are multiple branches, paths and relationships.

Also, this developer now has another game and is developing both at the same time.

Hi everyone,

Just like last year, I'll pause Patreon billing for the month of November. Contrary to last year though, I'm not going to pause it just for one month. Instead, I'll keep it paused until chapter 8 of Nothing isForever is released.

(Apparently, this is not automatic and I'll have to keep logging in exactly 1 month for now to keep pausing it. Just Patreon things. I hope everything works as planned and I don't bill anyone without meaning to. Before turning the billing back on again, I'll make a post a week before or so, so nobody will be charged by surprise.)

It's been a while since the last update and I don't want to keep charging people excessively for each update. Furthermore, I have to admit progress has been quite slower than I'd have liked in the last couple of months and nobody should subsidize me slacking off. This is more fair for everyone.

So, when will the update be ready? I'm not sure. But I think it's better to set a goal for the release. Let's aim for second half of January. I'll keep posting in the meantime.

Thank you for your support, and I'm sorry if you're disappointed with these news. I know you all would much prefer that the update was already finished.

Happy Halloween!

I hope you understand that not everyone criticizes you for being late or slacking off. We are human being. Sometimes you are productive, sometimes you are not.

You don't need to show us your progress chart and explain all the details as not everyone will understand it.

We just want to have certain date or time range when it will be released as we couldn't support something that we don't have a visibility on.

That's it. At least we know what we are paying for.

So happy to see that MrSL is back .

I was getting a little worried about him, as I sent my last batch of edits a few weeks back, but did not hear anything. And then I stalked all the forums where he posts sometimes and saw there had been nothing since a comment regarding Decked in Love in early September...

But now he has returned to let us know the situation AND is doing the right thing by his patron fans.
So much love :love: no homo.

I think it's important for the people who constantly complain about devs 'milking' their patrons and not making progress etc give credit when a developer does the opposite and shuts off billing when they feel they've been stalled. I generally don't care, but I can still appreciate the move. They clearly aren't doing this (just) for the money.

Good move by MrSilver, although it's sad to see a good game end up in production hell with the risk of gathering dust. I don't blame the developer, as this happens to many games and I call it the "branching paradox".

- You start a new game where you have the basics of the story, characters, maybe you have a draft from beginning to end.
- But your game contains options, this adds immersion and at first it seems to you that it will be easy.

- Each choice creates a new reality, for which you need to make separate dialogues and renders. The size of the game increases.

- Each further choice creates another sub-reality and so on in geometric progression: for each option you need to come up with a development of events and take into account every little thing. For one event there can be a dozen different dialogues depending on the choice. Again, additional renders are needed. The game becomes cumbersome.

- Your brain can't handle the amount of information that needs to be processed. And you burn out. And here it's not even the number of renders for one full chapter that is a problem, where Chapter 1 can start with 500 renders, and Chapter 10 - for a full story require 5000 or more, but the writer's block, where you don't know what to do with the characters, how to put all the strings together so that the game world continues to work and you hang for several weeks or even months working on one event...

-You can't stand, giving up, and the project is abandoned.

I hope this doesn't happen here and the developer can deal with the problems, but mentally you should be prepared for the worst. Saw it before.

I think there was a part in the game where Lea said something along the lines of "maybe I should be sluttier, maybe I should sleep around" and that was fucking MINT! It's interesting to explore that crazy bitch Kim route and I am a little scared how friends will react to MC betrayal and opting for complete slavery. But at the end of the day Lea is best girl, total wife material!

Hey guys, I am new here. So the next update is incoming. That's undoubtedly good news! But I wonder, How big the usual updates are? Like, should I expect a lot of content and the story progress or?.....
