The music is good, and I am so glad to hear people making positive comments about the game. Just wanted to jump in to emphasize that this game also has the best kink skill tree of any game I have seen. It is such a good way for letting you control the kind of content you want to see and feel like you are progressing to more and more kink as well as letting the player actually know what impacts their decisions will have. I kind of wish other games would take some notes here. The writing is also much more sex positive and realistic than pretty much all of the games I have seen. I know people have praised the system in the past and it is not a new comment - but worth reminding people and letting new players hear about it - if for no other reason than to balance out all of the annoying "why isn't this done yet" posts that clutter up the forum without adding any value.

Progress report: I'm going to pause patreon billing until chapter 8 is released

Hi everyone,
Just like last year, I'll pause Patreon billing for the month of November. Contrary to last year though, I'm not going to pause it just for one month. Instead, I'll keep it paused until chapter 8 of Nothing isForever is released.

Just Patreon things. I hope everything works as planned and I don't bill anyone without meaning to. Before turning the billing back on again, I'll make a post a week before or so, so nobody will be charged by surprise.)

It's been a while since the last update and I don't want to keep charging people excessively for each update. Furthermore, I have to admit progress has been quite slower than I'd have liked in the last couple of months and nobody should subsidize me slacking off. This is more fair for everyone.
So, when will the update be ready? I'm not sure. But I think it's better to set a goal for the release. Let's aim for second half of January. I'll keep posting in the meantime.
Thank you for your support, and I'm sorry if you're disappointed with these news. I know you all would much prefer that the update was already finished.

It's a little sad that the developer missed the opportunity to make really good money on this game simply because of a lack of communication. If he had been making one or two posts per month on Patreon with a short status update and maybe two or three bonus renders, he would have gained so many more patrons.

The game is amazing—one of the best on this site. However, the lack of regular communication is kryptonite for supporters. Who is going to keep spending money on a game that may or may not have been abandoned, especially when there’s no way of knowing because the developer only gives updates every three to six months?

There are still some updates left, so I hope the developer will look at some of the successful creators and follow their approach to posting on Patreon. He deserves financial success, but right now, he is his own greatest enemy.

It's a shame that the game is postponed. I'm not sure why the dev posted on the working charts and timelines here and for what purpose.

We don't really care about that and not many people understand those things.

What we want is a commitment and delivery based on that commitment. That's it. No need long explanation, etc. What's the point of explaining all the reasons behind while you can't deliver...

I felt the same as you a year ago or something like that, but at this point i consider the skilltree disappointing.

Considering there are only like three chapters left, there wont be this much time to explore the heights of the skilltree anyway, its like 1-2 scenes max per kink/skill which is kinda lame imo and if we dont use it THAT much anyway, we could have just skipped the whole thing and give the player the options he wants to chose.

Its a creative rpg element but the game aims to be more like a streamlined brawler or something like that

Some decisions require specific forks though IIRC. Like to get into a relationship with Jen, you either need the silver tongue or the other thing. A few others have conditions like this to begin their path.

I wouldn't say it's entirely cosmetic , I recall there was once or twice I couldn't go down a certain path because of it so i ended up cheating my skill points so I could.

The stark and simple style was half an intentional artistic choice and half because the dev started with a Laptop 1650 GPU so could not use any better textures. It does get somewhat better in later chapters as he improved with Daz skills. There are also a number of fairly good animations too.

As far as I understand, the game was never intended to compete on the visuals, although I think you will grow to like them over time. But when it comes to the story and writing, there are very few games that are on the same level as this one.

When Easter and Christmas fall on the same day! Mr.silverlust has been very tightlipped about the update and even if he told a date, he most likely would miss it. The update should come one day, but I do not vouch for it. It would also not surprise me if no update will come. Which would be sad since then we will never get a full Olivia route.
Until the update or the abandoned tag come, whichever will be faster, we should listen to the "advice" from Pulp´s "Disco 2000": "Let us met up in the year 2000, by the fountain down the road..."
