I'm pretty sure Steam would ban the game unfortunately.
They are a lot stricter than even Patreon when it comes to adult content.

Stuff like a school setting, school uniforms, young-looking women... any of those can get you banned.
Having sex with your adapted daughter and spicy memes wouldn't exactly help either.

I'm a little surprised the game is even on Patreon, rather than SubscribeStar.

Actually that is not true. Steam is a lot more "relaxed" when it comes to sex games than patreon. Quite a few games with incest are there already.

Things can be a bit arbitrary on Steam.
I know it has at least 1 game with rape and incest on it (though the incest was recently patched out to stay on Steam/Patreon).
But they also banned a game with anime lolis that has zero sexual content or nudity.
And overall hundreds of adult games were banned by Steam so far.
It seems to depend mostly on luck whether the game gets accepted or not.

I personally wouldn't bother, but it's probably worth a try considering it only costs $100 to try to get your game on Steam.
It certainly would help the game's popularity a bit.

They usually ban any content resembling pedophilia. Don't know if this was the case of the game you mentioned since you didn't gave a name.

Hundreds of porn games banned? Now you are going on hyperbole. A lot of games here are also on Steam, just to give a few examples: Sisterly Lust, Claire's Quest, Bad Memories, City of Broken Dreamers, Depraved Awakening, Fetish Locator, Ravager, Seeds of Chaos, College Bound, Pact with a Witch, Sanguine Rose, Acting Lessons, Being a DIK.

Bottom line is there is no reason to believe Now & Then wouldn't be accepted on Steam should the developer wish to.

The problem to be on steam is not the incest (you can release a censored version without incest -not this game though, it's not really incest and it's core of the story) but the render "engine" used : you can't sell games made in Honey Select due to copyrights. Or maybe if you pay a license but I don't think I ever saw a HS VN on steam

No, Kinderfeld is American. He's talked about American Thanksgiving slowing down his production schedule, and I believe he lives somewhat close to the locale he's fictionalizing for this game (US south-eastern seaboard: NC/Virginia.)

And Anne Franks is required reading in many American middle/high schools too. I sympathize with Naomi on that one. The story being told isn't horrible, but I was not enthused by the writing itself.

You know how I can tell I'm invested into a story in one of these AVNs?

It's when even thought I don't have the capacity to sit down and play from start to finish, I'm still super keen to continue the story and see the sex and story unfold. That's Now & Then for me.

Also, I've finally found one written error, and it's a punctuation mark.

From Alice, in the flashback of chapter 15:

Alice: "-- but, have you considered the impact on Carol that changing jobs and cities will have." (should be a question mark at the end of this sentence, not a full stop.)

Honestly, I'm really impressed with the state of the writing in Now & Then - I'm a bit of a grammar nazi (I tutor kids in English) and it's rare to see a full-blown story with so much dialogue that I have played so long without any written errors.

Anyway, just wanna say, I'm loving the game thus far, and I hope that there will be more opportunities of jealousy-free fun time with all the girls!

It's not like it destroys your relationship with Carol if you choose sex with another character, though. Its actually one of the better takes Ive seen on a poly relationship in an adult game.

so I rejected Naomi, never took her virginity and the option hug her in chapter 14 still lead to the sex scene like i had fuck her before ,not only that but some dialogue between chapter 13 and 14 make me feel like the option to reject Naomi has no diffrent at all and it's kinda sad because i really enjoy the game until now but i think This game still has many unresolved issues from the old chapter :v (and my Naomi love point is -2 now and it mean nothing from the way i see it )

Found another error; kinda small one, but an error.

Chapter 15, when the MC is outside;

"Doesn't matter. Keep your mind of the infected, MC." Should be 'on' instead.

Also, gotta commend the music choices that the devs are using. Really knows how to punch the viewer, like when you discover Missy. just really, REALLY damn solid music choices!

Couple more spelling issues: start of Chapter 16, 'Sydney' is named 'Syndey' in two seperate occasions, by Naomi and Carol, in the alleys.

The game is mostly linear so far, with the canon-route apparently being MC fucking Carol and Naomi.
Your choices just result in slightly different scenes/dialogue, but with the main story being the same.
That said there will apparently be a lot of different endings based on your choices.

thanks for the explanation but the option hug Naomi lead to the sex scene in carol only route still seems like a bug for me because i never took her virginity before (although it not a problem if i choose the other option :v)

I don't remember the exact scene, but when only choosing to hug her leads to sex, with no option to refuse her, then that's something that should be changed.

it the adult swim scene in chapter 14 , at first i just want to test the option but it still lead to the sex scene although im in the carol only route, so now i think that maybe all the choice with Naomi before can still lead to the sex scene even though you not take her virginity :v if it's true then i think the dev should fix that just to make sense (even though you will never choose these options if you want to play Carol only route) but now he's doing chapter 21 so im not sure whether he knows these issues or not

I mean the game was first posted here in May 2020 and it already has 20 chapters...
Not sure if it started at Chapter 1 though, since I only discovered this game a week ago.

Usually around a month between updates.

I don't know if there is has been an official comment about multiple endings. There will be different outcomes (it may be a different amount of girls) as part of the ending. The dev hasn't formally said anything about the endgame besides that if you don't screw some girls, you can never screw them again (by the end of chapter 20, Alice and Naomi).

Not sure if it started at Chapter 1 though, since I only discovered this game a week ago.

Dev posts a chapter every 4-5 weeks. So in 20 months - 20 chapters sounds right. Chapter 1 was the start (or it was called prologue and then changed to chapters when #2 came out - I am old and forgot)
