Are you going to give choices for a 'V' relationship? Or is it going to be that if we go after all the girls, then the girls will be having sex together also? It's my design that the MC's ability to interact with the other girls is a player choice. From the point you can start messing with Naomi, you'll be given the option to have sex with her or not. It is my intent you could feasibly not have sex with anyone but Carol the entire game.
I won't get into a debate over this. Just because a game is harem, or someone's RL lifestyle is, doesn't mean the girls automatically fucking. Too many people believe that is what harem is. It's not. But, believe as you want.I didn't mean a polygamous relationship only works in a apocalyptic setting, i meant it makes more sense/feels more natural than in most other settings, like MC-Carol-Naomi is something which feels like the natural course of action.
I'm not a large fan of lesbian content myself, but in a Harem relationship the Mc + girls are in a relationship with each other, that includes the girls and is how polygamous relationships are working, so i don't quite get ur coment about 'if it's done right'.
What you're describing is polyamory (and even then everyone banging everyone is not always the case) not a harem. Harem is when one man has at least three "wives" or a woman has at least three "husbands". In this case we have neither, since the MC is in a relationship with Carol only. If Naomi enters this relationship we'll have polyamory (we're one person short for a harem) either in the form of a vee relationship (what Wolf Plays™ mentioned) which is two people dating the same person, but not each other (they can even be completely strangers with zero contact, just knowing the other person exists) or a triad where three people are all dating each other. You just see "harems" where everyone in banging everyone because most devs find girl on girl hot and some of them are too lazy to find a believable explanation on how someone is ok with their boyfriend having other girlfriends, so they just make everyone bisexual and they have them bang each other. Imagine a game (targeted to women) with a straight female MC, creating her own harem. Would they make the guys bang each other? Anyway, let's not let this conversation steer away from the game, since we have no clue what the dev has in his mind. He might go for both Harem and Polyamory, he might go for neither. Only time will tell.I'm not a large fan of lesbian content myself, but in a Harem relationship the Mc + girls are in a relationship with each other, that includes the girls and is how polygamous relationships are working, so i don't quite get ur coment about 'if it's done right'.
Sorry, is just that when you say "more natural" that is the impression that I get, now if you mean that the writing makes it work better than in other situations when it feels forced, then I completely agree, but I don't think the setting itself matter that much.I didn't mean a polygamous relationship only works in a apocalyptic setting, i meant it makes more sense/feels more natural than in most other settings, like MC-Carol-Naomi is something which feels like the natural course of action.

Relationships would remain character consistent. Let me put this behind spoilers as it's about planned content multiple chapters down the line. Are you going to give choices for a 'V' relationship? Finally. Someone who understands. You explained it better than I have. This is complicated by the fact that there is no tag called Polyamory. This is most likely why the tag Harem is used. What you're describing is polyamory (and even then everyone banging everyone is not always the case) not a harem. That has been bothering me, not gonna lie, is always a gamble for me since I normally don't like the possessive haremsThis is complicated by the fact that there is no tag called Polyamory. This is most likely why the tag Harem is used.
Sure, but "close enough" doesn't make it the right definition. The harem fantasy is very specific. It's the same with the use of swinging in games with sharing or even cuckolding and the only (somehow) practical solution I've seen, is having the game tagged with the closest thing like you said and then explain it further under genre, but not everyone is going to check that. I still believe that lazy writing is a big factor for the misconception of what harem actually means though. Take this game for example. How easy would it be for Kinderfeld to have Carol act completely out of character and when Naomi "joked" about having a turn with the MC, suddenly realise that she's bi and say something like "after I get my turn with you" and have them make out? Would it make sense? No. Have we seen similar situations in other games, just as an easy build up to a "harem" scenario? Multiple times! I don't know, I might feel so strongly about the differences between harem and polyamory because I find it really weird to see so many games where every woman is bisexual and attracted to every other woman, like they have no standards whatsoever, but that's a different story, for a different thread. Kinderfeld has believable characters so far, and that's one of the many reasons I like this game. Even in this post-apocalyptic scenario, they act like normal people and not like pornstars in a b-movie...This is complicated by the fact that there is no tag called Polyamory. This is most likely why the tag Harem is used.

It's because they are not into this kind of polyamorus relationship. I can't speak for everyone, but I don't think there's something more to it.I agree with all the points u make here.
I simply find it strange when people complain about 2 girls are also having fun with each other, or complain about sharing even if they are both in a polyamorous relationship with the Mc (as an example).
Yeah i also don't like the harem settings where all girls are bi (often out of the blue) and all are fucking each other, as u said, thats simply lazy writing and not especially hot in my opinion (though i'm likely in the minority with that).
