Good for you that you were able shake them off, but other countless men aren't as lucky as you. Mass shooters don't just appear out of nowhere, they're usually folks who don't get the proper treatment and care they needed.

When you're all lonely and desperate for validation and worth, certain three letter agent might groom you to take up arms. But that's a story for another time.

tl;dr your experience ≠ the majority.
Your point of view is interesting and I would discuss it further, but then unfortunately our comments will be deleted, as it turns into an offtopic.
All I can say on this topic: moral support from friends if you are depressed is of course important and can help a person, but if a person doesn't want to help himself, then nothing will help him. I have a side pass with Lena being tolerant of Stan and trying to cheer him up with good advice, but he doesn't seem to listen.
The only thing he listened to if Lena roasted him when Stan was caught masturbating in her photo. After that, he didn't peek.
The scene when he spies on Lena certainly hints at Stan's mental disorders. It's all there: social phobia, extreme shyness, very low self-esteem, sexual frustration that encourages voyeurism, a phobia of pretty girls. Most likely he was bullied as a child and Stan never recovered from it.

100% agree there. It really shows how she has no imagination in terms of constructing some characters. Like take for example the true fuckwit of a "bro" Jeremy. Now, Eva could have written him as a decent guy whose into MMA and wants give that a shot as he bartends yet has some relationship issues with Louise no doubt but at the same is having some doubts on the relationship but kinda wants it to work, mostly because of the sex. And at the same time maybe Alison is also kinda taking some interest into him and he is certainly interested but instead of fucking around he wants to see how things go with Louise first before everything. But instead, we got the prototypical Black guy who is a wannabe player that cheats on his girl and fucks around, doesn't own up to his own shit, etc etc. Which isn't fucking original at all nor even creative. Like sure, SOME parts of the story are pretty well done, yet honestly some of the characters are written like shit, or even have issues that are briefly brought up (Jeremy getting caught and mentions he should talk to Louise but never fucking does) but aren't even resolved or mentioned afterwards.
Yes! Why can't all the characters in be mature, monogamous, responsible, sensitive souls? I too am shocked about all the promiscuous fantasy sex in this promiscuous fantasy sex game!

I cannot accept that there is a guy cheating on his girlfriend. And he's black! Of course all the others guys can cheat - that's fine. For some reason. Apparently.

Say, why are you holding Jeremy to a different standard than Ian, Axel, Mike etc.?

Don't indulge them. Some people on here are beyond silly. They complain that porn game characters that are created to fulfill certain character archetype/sexual fetish follow that archetype/fetish.

Yes, Jeremy is meant to be that guy that sleeps around. Yes, Axel is supposed to be "Mister steal your girl". Yes, Stan is supposed to be the weirdo, virgin loser who likes to watch you have sex.

Because Jeremy is the worst written and managed. But by all means, try to make it out that the only reason I am complaining about Jeremy is that he is black. -Good job, good effort there kiddo- Can we get a big round of applause for his guy here folks?

Ian has some little to few hiccups and could do with some better writing I'll admit, Axel has issues as well (mainly that he is a possible rapist and is coincidentally involved with apparently everything), Mike has no issues other than if you let Lena chase after him, as to which is entirely optional and doesn't affect the story that much.

How Jeremy is the most flawed and gets the least amount of punishment compared to say Ian. Jeremy fucks around, get caught lying, and what are the consequences? Either you stay mum and have Lena tell him to talk it out with Louise or they break up. Now, does that talk ever happen or get mentioned? Not at all. It's glossed over in place of the imfamous drinking game and of course if we decide to not take part, of course Jeremy rather than play it safe and smart (drunk or buzzed) he decides to be the horn dog dumbass and sticks to the stereotypical black guy player kink in all of porn.

Ian on the other hand: If you just so happen to kiss Holly while also being interested in Lena, oh yeah Lena grills you and goes overtop with her rage. Chase after Cindy and get caught by your "bro" Jeremy? Oh yeah the dumbass has the audacity to say "we need to come clean to Wade" if he too just so happens to still be with Louise. Like excuse me hypocrite who is fucking Alison and is still trying to hook up with Ivy while you still kinda in a relationship with another girl...

Too late, already did. And to be fair, some arch types can be decent, yet at the same time we ALREADY had theses to a degree with her first game. Adding a variety or atleast some measure of originality can actually do wonders. But to have every game have the same arch type, over and over again, while maintaining the constant porn portrayal of certain things isn't really all that creative.

Archetypes exist for a reason, you can't reinvent the wheel every time

Nah, you just don't like his archetype. I for example dislike Stan a lot. You can't change archetypes, the whole point of them is that the characters follow a certain model.

You are also comparing Jeremy, an NPC, to Ian, an actual playable character. Ian is a blank slate on which you can project different characteristics, hence the whole point system with Lust/Love and Charisma/Intellect or whatever. Ian goes through a bunch of situations where you have to make choices for him and decide what to do.

Jeremy on the other hand is an archetype and an NPC. He just follows a set "motion".

Jeremy's personality is fine imo, 'playboy/fuckboy who cheats and sleep around' is hardly a black-exclusive stereotype.

If 'Mr. Steal Yo Girl' trope is given to Jeremy instead of Axel, then I'll agree wholeheartedly with you. To be fair, Lena can get intimate with Jeremy even if she's with Ian, though that's more of a testament to her personality than Jeremy's.

I had a period of depression, great disappointments, but I never had thoughts of suicide
I deleted the rest of your post... cause it's more of the extreme outlier of people with depressions or other psychical disorders.
Specially depression is NOT "just a period" - it can be, of course. But I live with a person who is diagnosed with depression and the dumbest thing to say is "it will go away" or tips like "just go for a walk more frequently to get your head free" - that NOT how this shit works.
You can walk around smiling all day long, be the kindest und sunniest charakter in the world and still you lack the drive to do something after work for example. Life just feels like an endless meat grinder and in the morning you put on your mask, function like society wants and in the evening you take this mask off and just stare into this abyss of nothingness.

I just wanted to answer to this part which I quoted - as things like "take a gun and shoot a bunch of random people" are extremely rare compared to the amount of people with depression, anxiety and so on...
