It doesn't seem like it. Ian likely was almost the same to how we are introduced at the start. Just not depressed or sad over Gillian breaking up.
After all, if the theory is true that Gillian became Mike's girlfriend, then it's likely because Mike was more 'masculine' than Ian was and was more exciting to be around. Whereas Ian is the safe but 'boring' option. (Meaning the guy you settle down with, Mike's more the guy you have a ton of fun with)

Mike explained this update that he and his girlfriend were interested in each other in high school, but it never came to something, so when they met later, their feelings were reignited.
I don't have the impression Gillian cares about the physical aspects and expectations of being a man, usually the men are the ones who worry too much about that. She seems fairly sensible and emphatic, so my guess is she sensed Ian being not content with himself and Gillian and she was overwhelmed with her reignited feelings towards Mike herself.

Sorry if I'm out of the loop, but does this upcoming party advancement is supposed to come out soon or should we expect standard wait time between big updates? If so it would be very anticlimactic. Also... has there been any indication if the rest of party will be only Lena POV or will there be Ian POV too? (even if he is just back home)

Yes, Gillian is so sensible and empathetic she detected deep insecurity within Ian that even the dev didn't care to expand on, she then cheated on him, actually creating deep rooted insecurity within him, with Mike, the guy who ended up cheating on her with a 9-5 consistency.
She truly has the makings of a A-class Empath, I'm excited for the next update when she'll start moving objects with her mind.

Seriously speaking though, I think Gillian is simply one of those girls who herself did not know what she wanted and maybe felt insecure about wanting to date Ian in the first place. And because she realised that they weren't as compatible as she thought, at some point, she started to grow out of love.
Who knows honestly, I feel like things will be more explained in the near future with Gillian. Especially if Ian decides to reconnect with her.
It's pretty interesting that in this update when Mike talks about his gf with Lena, he opens up that he kinda hates not being able to stick to the relationship he's wanted for a long time, and Lena seemingly has options to give him a push towards either fooling around or "manning up" (whether this means a break up or giving up on cheating remains to be seen) It may turn out to be basically nothing like Ian trying to help Wade, but maybe it'll have some impact.

She is potentially still wearing the ring Ian has gotten her, so i think it's safe to say there's some remaining attachment.

The latter. She's regretful but I don't think she wants to feed her ego. She cheated on Ian and dumped him, there's no feelings there. Ian barely got over her just like Lena Axel.

no i think the one with axel's hand is simply not existing in a cindy love route. that's what the route suggests, or rather i damn well expect it to be that case. would be kind of a worthless romance path for a character if you cannot prevent her from cheating on our boy ian here. realistic, maybe. but since we have a choice and this wouldn't be the first time that there are timeline changes depending on our choices, i think a lot of people would drop cindy if it wasn't possible.
i'm actually very pleased that we do NOT have have blank slates as characters. sure chad ian to cuck ian is quite a jump, but it's not unheard of of people drastically changing once they are broken. and i think a baseline of characteristics prevails between routes on every character. for example is "normal" ian uncomfortable about lena doing stalkfap. this same uncomfortable-ness is seen by cuck ian as well. he however starts to turn his jealousy into arousal, which is one of the major things cucks do. chad ian on the other hand doesn't like lena flirting with wade/perry at the beach, as he is also uncomfortable about it, but other than the other "ian types" he takes action to make lena stop doing that. so you basically have:
chad ian => doesn't like it and makes it stop.
"normal" ian => doesn't like it and mostly shuts up about it.
cuck ian => doesn't like it, but changes his view on it for the sake of the relationship.
either way ian is uncomfortable.
other characters are the same. holly is devoid of confidence and doesn't know how to express herself. if ivy "helps" her, her confidence is fake and she goes into the other extreme, still failing to express what she actually feels.
i could go on with the other characters, but you get the gist.
that we have control over their lives, doesn't change that each character has certain ways to react to situations around them.
