I feel like the worse is more to come. But I think a game I played Called "Friends in Need" was more rough than Pale Carnations. I mean you can rape and Harass the girls which scared me and made felt uncomfortable as fuck to the point that's a in patch. The game makes you feel like a piece of shit for it and makes you even feel worse than anything I did in Pale Carnations by far.

That's an observation that's pretty much made every update and I'm not really sure how to feel about it.
There is a planned trajectory and escalation to the competition, and in my head everything fits together nicely in a satisfying arc, but I think exhibition 2 is what fuels that sentiment. I still stand by it on a conceptual level - a focus on mental humiliation over a physical approach - but I think I failed to execute it with enough bite in some areas. The Veronica event with the spider was perfect in my mind, but I think the other two focused too much on setting up Felicia's and Edwin's club arc. Ideally, Kathleen probably should've switched to a more physical approach when the interrogation element was a wash, but I also think people underestimate just how grueling it is to sit on bondage horse - that angle was sharp!
I feel you about the versus/gamey aspect being lacking. With a little more creativity, I probably could've accomplished the above in a more head-to-head-to-head fashion. Hopefully week 3's exhibition will be a return to form for the "competition" angle. The month is only halfway over, after all.
As for the club content in this update, because I assume that's what prompted your observation and not an update that came out a year ago:

Is there any confirmation as of today if Hana and/or Mina are going to get sexually involved with the club activities at some point in the future? I'd love to play the game but I don't want to get invested in those characters only for them to become sluts, eventually.

You summed up the issue, at least for me, here.
You see the big picture and we only see parts of it. It's the biggest problem with anything that releases in parts, we don't know what's going to happen and can only judge by what we see.
It's not that a cattle prod is light as such but it is part of light BDSM which is something i've been doing for years and i'm as big a wuss of a girl you'll ever meet. I am a sub to my partners dom but only ever move around in the lighter side of BDSM culture and that's why I say it's tame.
In the grand scheme of sex play it is harder than most average folks will see but when I here kink club and sex competition, especially with how Kat tries to break the girls down, especially Veronica. I was just expecting her to push them a bit more.
It's pretty much a me issue, just voicing my rambles mainly. Like I said, you see where it's going and I can only go by what i'm seeing.
I think, for me at least, it mainly comes from the fact that you had them in front of a large group while that group covered them in cum which is something anyone would find humiliating and that was pretty early. That along with how hard Veronica and Kat went at each other to start with. A few shocks with a prod does seem tame by comparison.
Then we take what could be done to Ros last time with being railed and humiliated by Ian infront of a group.

How do these same chapter update usually go? Is it just an expansion of the current chapter, and therefore one should play it before the next chapter (in this case, 5), or is it actually a continuation of the story?
I keep getting an out of memory error when Veronica is told to lick the cattle prod. The game then closes automatically. I tried starting the game from scratch, skipping. I switched off transitions. I then tried using the compressed version above with 80 percent image quality. None of it worked. I am unable to progress beyond this point. I am playing on my laptop with 16GB RAM. So memory shouldn't be an issue. This is the first time this has happened in my playthroughs. Does anybody know what to do?
No there is currently no confirmation on this. But even if it would come to that, it would be on a couple paths only! Choices matter in Pale Carnations. If you are going the "I am a nice guy" paths, you´ll get certain events and outcomes, if you go for the "I am an egomanical asshole" paths, you´ll get different events and outcomes of general events. Same goes for "I am neither good nor bad".
I am rather sure you can get Hana and Mina involved in Club business in later updates, but that is on you then, if it happens. If you don´t want that to happen, you will get opportunity to prevent it. As said, it depends on how you play the game.

A good update, but I would happily trade a few animations for more story progression.
