I too am curious what exactly chuck does. As written in an earlier post, I think he is a torturer who maybe also kills the women where he does not need to hold back. Remember August´s talk with his friend Otto. He mentions that he´s worried about Chuck and Kath´s mental state and actions. That they get worse!

Obviously, hence I've literally said that "this won't happen of course". It triggered people though just as I thought it would :]. I'm neither an incest fan or Victoria fan and for me Victoria could not exist and the story wouldn't lose any of its quality. Her only purpose is for us to see that Edwin is fucked up in the head considering he's regularly watching porn with his mom in the movies.
We know that Chuck isn't a fan of violence, he prefers more sophisticated methods of dealing with people. We know he "broke" some of the women he interacted with but we will probably never learn what he did because any explanation TD might come up with would be too far-fetched and unconvincing, hence it's vague like that.
I agree with you that TD most probably wil only hint at what Chuck did, the own fantasy works better than descriptions sometimes, but I think you underestimate Chuck´s potential for violence. He is obviously disappointed that he cannot maim Sophia since she is too valuable, but for example the golf instructor was not.
As I mentioned before august is worried what happens in his circle and that Chuck and Kath´s deeds become worse.

In which scene is the golf instructor mentioned?
Since august in that scene with otto also mentiones that he has to go behind chucks back to deal with people violently I kinda assumed he means that chuck and kat start to lose it in regards to their passions. If that means extreme violence?
Maybe chuck DOES make a difference between using violence to solve problems and using violence for purely arousing reasons...
But I doubt it. Iirc there hasn't been a incident of violence against a woman in the game aside from the warren x prostitute hints - which where presented like a case of genocide. TD seems more interested in psychological sadism, so I would assume chuck is in that line as well.
Hope we find out. Chucks one of my favourite characters.

Also I hope the Hana GF route will pay off in the future. besides very little changed lines and missing scenes there isn't anything different so far (now i need to manage 3 parallel playthroughs though because I'm unsure about my "canon run")

I have 3 "canon" runs, one for Hana, one for Felicia and one for Sophia. In the hope we get her as a late LI, since our MC and her fit well togehter depending on our choices - nerd power for the win!Currently I have the Hana GF path where I was also on Felicias and Minas path but ended those. Then the exact same one with Hana as FWB and continuing Feli and Mina. And a third “perfect” one where I just try to max the carnation stats and get other scenes.I think the Hana GF path will reap some nice fruits in the long run, don´t fear.
But now that I think about it maybe I should make another one where a different person wins the challenges (although I’m not sure if the game will go much past the challenge month so if it really matters that much) and also one creep / super-loyal-to-club one where its just max sadism.
Well for my 3 canon runs, in them I also try to keep good relations with most other characters. Beside those 3 I have saves for runs I do not consider head canon, but are for getting other scenes. A "FWB" path and a "Just for the money" path.
As an aside, you can be very loyal to the Club without being a total creep. Like some other players I theorise that later in the game we can decide to leave the Club, stay in the Club as it is currently is and stay in the Club but change some things for the better.

Ah, that explains it. As for making Kath hate you, this might be done better later in the game since if Kath does not trust us enough you can get an early game over. A personal opinion: Score some brownie points with August, esp. if you go after Hana as GF, this might come in handy later.
But so far its not possible to get him to trust you isn't it? Or maybe only if you do everything perfectly
Going by a post of TD himself, trust points for August are/can be scored in certain events only and need to add up for him to trust you someday. I doubt it is possible to have August trust you fully yet in the game, still we can reach it during later stages.
But having quite a number of like points with August already helps in some situations. There are differences if August likes you or not.

In Pale Carnations, the character objects other than MC are defined with string literals for names, not variables. You could edit the names in the character definitions, which would change what name is shown in the name box. That half measure would be worse than nothing at all, because when characters refer to each other in the script, the names aren't interpolated variables either. So you could rename Veronica to "Jennifer Walters", and that name would show up when she spoke, but everyone would keep calling her Veronica.
The brute force solution to that: extract the script files, edit the character defs, then do a long, laborious series of finds and replaces for the names you're editing in all the script files. Replace All wouldn't work well, because the names show up in variable and label names within the script, so you'd probably want to be selective about what gets replaced. Then next update you'd have to do that again for the new script and merge with previous edits. That's not my jam, but I don't kink shame.

function to handle replacement in every 'say' statement. It's not terribly hard if you have coding experience, and if you don't, modding a pirated Renpy VN is a pretty nice way to pop your cherry. Low risk, low challenge, easily read language, looots of examples to follow.Note: I've given no thought to what effect either of those solutions would have on the bio/stats screens either. Probably no worse effect than the name on the bio screen wouldn't match your edits, though.
