Ian catching strays. Hes been a pretty ride or die bro for Edwin. Also Victoria likes him, gotta trust goat mommy on these types of things.
I mean Ian is absolutely a bro but he was
also absolutely a piece of shit terrible boyfriend to Mina, and I think that's what was being referred to there.
I'm sure that's exactly what TD and Gil were going for. Just making the player uncomfortable and questioning if it's okay to find this hot.
Agree 100%.
Veronica is a dainty butterfly that crafted herself steel armor. I love the honest interactions she has with MC where she kinda opens up the shell a bit and that's why I went for the friend route in my main playthrough.
I feel like she can and will be the broest of all the bros once she fully trusts and I'll be damned if I won't see this through to the end.
I will confess this hadn't occurred to me, mostly because Veronica pushes Edwin away so hard due to that armor you mention. But now that the idea's in my head, I'm absolutely here for it.
Am I confusing games and characters here or was it not kind of established that Ian would totally fuck Victoria given the chance? It's kind of a strange change of character that happened gradually. In the earlier chapters it felt like yes, he's MCs best friend but he's also a giant piece of shit when it comes to women in general. Now in the latest update he cares for MCs mom more than for his own. Feels like some kind of forced attempt at an Ian redemption arc.
This one I disagree with. Ian certainly seems very fond of Victoria as a surrogate mother figure and it's definitely possible that he'd hit that if he could,
BUT:
1. It would absolutely destroy his relationship with Edwin, and an introspective-to-neutral Ian wouldn't be willing to do that.
2. I think he sees Victoria more as a mother than a woman, so I'm not sure it would even occur to him. That being said, with the revelation about her past, can that image of motherhood survive? I think it depends on how "good" of an influence Edwin has been and whether or not Ian is seeing the error of his ways.
I think we could indeed see an Ian redemption arc, but I don't agree that it feels forced. Edwin has several chances to try and rein in Ian's worst impulses and help him re-evaluate his choices and attitudes. If an Ian redemption arc is to happen with the aid of Edwin trying to push him back towards being a decent person, I personally think that could be earned rather than forced. Especially considering TD's writing and sense of character. TBH I'm personally kind of rooting for it to happen, but I guess we'll see.
He is doing it after he has realized she is, in fact, a woman and all his misogynist instincts kicked in. Which makes it an open question how he'll treat Victoria after/if Edwin tells him about Victoria's past. But doesn't really put into question his past behavior towards her, and when this development doesn't happen and his mental image of Victoria is "pure" so to speak.
I personally don't think Ian fucking Alice has anything to do with his misogyny -- well, okay, I guess it obviously does because there's some nasty power dynamics going on there. But I don't think that's the
primary factor. I think Ian is banging her out of some twisted desire for the kind of motherly comfort he got from her before, tied up in a nasty tangled emotional mess with his self-hatred and self-destruction. Ian is a very broken person in some ways, many of which revolve around motherly love and comfort (and who could blame him? Grace is a horrible mom and Chuck is Ian's major male role model! This is not a person who will have any kind of healthy... anything, really, but especially attitudes towards women.). I think the reasons for Ian banging Alice are very tangled and extremely unhealthy and he one billion percent should be in therapy instead, but that doesn't make for as good of a story, so here we are.
Part of the written below is relative to the variables in the "in depth" Walkthrough. Take of that what you will.
I still don't see a "bad" ending for Veronica that is worse than needing to find a roommate and a job as a personal trainer someplace. I mean giving up one's dreams is bad; I'm not pretending it isn't. But I struggle to imagine a world where she has no choice but to become a house girl. The only way I see that happening is if she takes a loan from the club to try and save the gym even after she loses the competition, but I just don't think she would.
Felicia's bad ending is easier for me to imagine. After Elias joins the club, sees her gigacucking him, and divorces her, she'd be left with a lot fewer social options and a lot less comfort and spending money. The flip side of this is, perhaps she'd be able to find a different rich old guy in search of a trophy wife. It'd be a lot harder this time around since she'd be someone else's leftovers in a lot of eyes, but she's still smart, stylish, and super hot so it'd be possible. She'd be in a pretty shitty position for sure, though.
Rose.... yeah. Rose is fucked. House girl, porn star, or much worse possibilities exist if she doesn't win.
Honestly the one thing i am most worried about is "exponential branching" as well as how much information about what happens in the "aftermath of the exhibition's ending" will be provided. This sounds very silly, especially if you consider how far into the future this is.
Dev, if you are reading this, i have small request for you. Make document with "potential endings" or something like that, prepared to be shared in case of "unforseen circumstances" in which the game can't be finished. Give what i have read about you the game most likely won't be dropped, but who knows what life can drop on you, plus this masterpiece will still need quite a bit of time to be finished, especially with more and more branching for each update, which seems to be the case.
Walkthroughs are fantastic for this! And they help navigate the game besides. I do see what you're getting at, though. Maybe put a checklist in the gallery or something like that, just to help people see if/what they're missing.
