Exactly this. My critique is lack of character in games like these. I don't care what the relationship is, if it's not written well then I'm just looking at a bunch of erotic pictures with a flimsy reason to string them together.
Well, these games are still porn so that is part of the deal. Also the fact, that the MC is player controlled kind of takes away the 'writing a good story part'. Sometimes i want to play the long / hard way, sometimes i wanna go fast track. Cannot really mix the two unless you become really creative in writing and game play. But then again the main point here is function: Quick wish fullfillment versus internal conflict and helping the player resolve it. It is the self-improvement vs. self-indulgence. If the story doesn't fit my current desire i just try again later.
Dual Family for example has tremendous build up, with giving sparse release and the renders are top. I do not enjoy this game because the ero-scenes are so splendid but because the narrative is compelling. But if every game was like that i would go crazy or molest my relatives, so thank god for Parental Love.
Why emphasize the incest if it's not the taboo nature of it that appeals to you?... ...I don't think you're being honest with yourself, to say incest is sexy because it can be just like any other relationship... ...If you don't understand that people build up to sex.
(1)Maybe we are misunderstanding each other but: The day incest becomes legal and socially accepted it will still appeal to me. But it will no longer be a TABOO. So i do not do the incest ride because it is taboo. There are enough other taboo things that are less dangerous for me instead but they do not appeal to me.
From this follows:
It is NOT mandatory to 'Force-Read' this part of a character's development in EVERY game. PL's sister character is very compactly introduced and the MC therefore has already progressed to the point of: 'I am okay with incest'. The only thing he needs to get rid of now is his parental piety. This is an important point. PL's story already start with a broken and half-fixed morally corrupt individual (drugs/rehab, incest / re-approach family) that tries to get back to life and is now haunted by past mistakes.
(2) Of course it is not like any other relationship why else would i get an extra kick out of it?
(3) The character's (MC-Sis) in the story HAVE ALREADY engaged in sexual activity in the past as part of their 'normal relationship status'. It is not incomprehensible for your ex-girlfriend to show up and offer a fuck down memory lane. Her being your sister does not make it more unlikely. The build up is exactly the time she needs to get you undressed or you tell her to go away. And no, she will not ask you before, wait until you click the yes panel or give you a trigger warning, where would the fun be in that? Sad truth: The more sex you have with somebody, the higher the chance of having more sex with that someone. That will make it a normal thing between you two. The more normal, the more often it will happen until it gets boring.
I understand that the idea that two character's (sis and Dau) may have already decided to share the MC (during an off-screen chat) sounds quite suprising but such an occurence is not unheard of. Sometimes people are too good to be true, so you either learn to share or learn to dream lucid.
Beside, Incest-sharing is one of the few common tropes in games like these how else will everyone be happy? The game of thrones hype is not just random, people everywhere talk about cutting the legal crap with incest because it becomes more and more socially accepted. The same happens with sex on itself. PL took a pointer here. Maybe we retro-artefacts are the unbelievable part...?
